Waldorf Nano Synth

Plug in board for the CME line of controllers. 198 Euro on Thomann. Title link takes you there.

"WALDORF NANO SYNTH PLUG IN BOARD FÃœR CME UF midikeyboards, synthesizerboard with 1000 sound, 24 voice polyphony, 16xMIDI multi mode"

I don't see anything on the Waldorf site. I wonder if it's a true synth with fully editable parameters or a scaled down preset synth.

  1. Hmmm...interesting. I dont think this is an official Waldorf product though, most likely a Stadler-Electro product. I know that they made a piano add-on for the CME synths, havent heard anything about a synth add-on though.

  2. as I got my info from waldorf: it is "based on the microQ architecture"..

  3. I really really really hope it's a full microQ. I really can't see Waldorf allowing it to be a preset thing with a few tweakable parameters. Although if they did go that route, there would probably be a fully compatible software editor (similar to the nord micromodular)

  6. It has very few tweakable parameters. It's really a preset thingy for almost nothing $$$ wise. You really think they were going to give you a microQ for that kind of money?

  7. It's just a ROM-based thing with some parameter controls. You cannot save your edits, and the parameters you can adjust are very limited (like attack, decay, reverb/FX, and filter. That's pretty much it!).

It's disappointing, but I suppose better than nothing(?) if you want to toss some extra cards into your controller.

I think if one was going this route, they'd be better off looking at the Terratec controller that will come with a hardware version of Komplexer built in.
