"I want very much to see if we can use this on the next album... How rad would that be?!
: )

My dad and step-mom gave me two Radio Shack TRS-80 Color Computers they had cleaned out of their garage, complete with games and disk drives, etc... The best part: They still work! : )"

Anyone know more about this one? Specs and what technology it used?

"Demo of the sounds of the Micro Acid Drone, due to the way I am holding it in the video it was awkward to play, normally you would be sat with it on your lap which makes it very easy to play. A better video will follow later.
These are available to buy from my website for £65UKP plus shipping.
They are handmade using high quality parts and are limited in quantity to around 30 worldwide.

Thanks for watching

We're trying to organise some events throughout the day, like trying to get the people from the first event together and a gig in the evening. As things develop we'll update this page.

We're starting to collect raffle prizes, if you have something you wish to donate for the raffle (which is for charity) then please let me know and I'll add you to the list below."

Sequential Circuits Six-Trak

via this auction

inside a Sequential Circuits Six-Trak

"The Six-Trak was released by Sequential Circuits around 1984 (Model 610).
It is a 6-voice, Polyphonic, Multitimbral, Programmable Synthesizer that has MIDI, a built in Sequencer, an Arpeggiator, and a 4-Octave (C-C) keyboard.

The Six-Trak was one of the first multitimbral MIDI instruments designed to be used with a computer with software that was available for the Commodore 64. The software allowed programming of the six voices and the sequencing.
Along with the DrumTraks drum machine, SCI claimed that with the software and this synth that it was a complete MIDI system.

Each voice can be programmed to any of the 100 internal patches and played as a separate monphonic synth. It can be played either by the external keyboard controller or an external sequencer as well.
The Curtis CEM) 3394 chips were used for each voice which contains one VCO, VCF, VCA, and LFO for each. The VCO has fine and course tuning, glide (portamento) as well as saw, triangle, and pulse (with pulse width modulation) waveforms.
Each Oscillator can be mixed with a noise generator as well and the filter section features controls for Cut-Off Frequency and Resonance.

You can also set the key follow modulation to full, off, or half.

The filter is also self-resonating and can be modulated by each oscillator.

Each voice contains an ADSR Envelope for each the VCO, VCF, and VCA.

The LFO can be routed to the VCO, VCA, and PWM and consist of such waveforms as square and triangle.

There is a single data entry knob used for programming and all the programming is done through menus. However, you can select the knob to control such things as frequency cut off and effect the filter as you play.

You can choose between Polyphonic (with portamento), Unison, and Stack modes (which allows each voice to be set to a different patch and played as one complex mono sound. Mono and Stack modes are selectible between single and multi-triggering modes as well.

The Arpeggiator can be selected as Up, Down, or Assignable (which plays the notes in the order that they were played).

The keyboard can also be split into three areas.

The Pitch-Wheel is fixed at a range of a Mjor 3rd up and a Minor 3rd down.

The Modulation-Wheel controls the LFO amount.

All of the sequences and patches can be backed up via MIDI

The Six-Trak features an 800 note sequencer and 100 patch locations.

The rear of the synth consists of MIDI IN and OUT, a stereo audio jack which doubles as a headphone jack, a footswitch for sustain, and an accessible fuse f it were to ever blow.

The overall size of the Six-Trak is 28"x12"x4 1/2" and weighs approximately 18 pounds."

Under a foreign sky

Under a foreign sky from Hans-Jörg Scheffler on Vimeo.
"One thing that i really like about using Omnisphere for soundtrack work is the fact that many sounds are based on organic sources. They can be so inspiring that they trigger visual ideas.
Like in the case of this clip i was playing around with sounds that were made of water running thru tubes of different length to create discrete pitches.
I composed the music and then created the clip based on it.

The raw footage was created in Artmatic Voyager and then further modified in Artmatic V-Track."

DIY synthesizer

YouTube via harrypotter2k5
"Broadly, the purpose of this project was to create an Analogue modelling musical synthesizer;
that is, a synthesizer implemented using both analogue and digital components that intends to emulate the sounds of traditional analogue synthesizers, whilst being controllable through modern-day digital protocols such as the Musical Instrument Digital Interface (MIDI).
The synthesizer platform exists upon its own standalone hardware, and may be controlled
using a variety of existing MIDI-capable instruments, including keyboards, guitars and drums.
Additionally, the unit features its own innovative touch-screen interface which intends to provide simple-and-intuitive control of the system, but with an unprecedented ability to customize and control synthesizer parameters and sound generation.
Special attention has been placed upon the usability of the synthesizer, particularly within the realms of it being played by musicians in a live environment.
The units MIDI capabilities also mean that it is easily combined with professional studio equipment and sequencing software such as Cubase VST"

Update via Harry Potter in the comments: "I've got a development site up at http://synthesia.sourceforge.net for this synth, but it's still under heavy development and CAEnot all of our files/ documentation/demos are online yet. Will keep you posted"
