STEIM Cracklebox

via brian c

"Here's a picture of my "new" Steim cracklebox... This is unit 70 of 500 produced in a third run from STEIM dated 2005.

The build quality is much better than I expected, it has a finger jointed wooden box and a hinged top - cool

I'm gonna mic it so I can sample it and run it through some effects."

Hobnox Audiotool - Jam Session

YouTube via Zimboltor
"I found this about 2 days ago, the sound quality on this video does not do any justice to the actual sound quality, since I recorded this live my computer lags pretty badly you will hear the audio stuttering. You also may hear the drums really clash with the music, while recording I didn't hear this, (stupid Camtasia studio, taking up all my computers resources) It is really fun to use though, if you want to try it out go to http://www.hobnox.com/index.1056.de.html
I do assume that this film will be in HD, so make sure you watch it in HD! Comment, Rate, Subscribe! PS. Sorry about the performance, its not that great, if you want you can post a video response to this with your better recorded jam session! Oh and I know the video tags are amazing. Oh one more thing, the original was 12 minutes long so I had to cut the other 2 minutes, this is why the video starts without me actually making the drum on the TR-909, Setting up the cables for the Tube drive etc. Also to all the 8 subscribers I have I am working on original material for FL studio and hope to release it soon, right now im waiting for an midi keyboard. Oh and the great thing about Hobnox's Audiotool is it is all in flash! Thats right if you have flash you can start making music just like this video (but better of course)"

NAMM: NAMM 2009 - Metasonix KV-100 AssBlaster at Big City Music booth

YouTube via bigcitymusic

"Here is the all new Metasonix KV-100 AssBlaster vacuum tube processor that was shown at the Big City Music NAMM booth. We are feeding a drum pattern from the Jomox XBase999 analog drum machine.

The KV-100 contains the basic preamp stage of the discontinued Metasonix TM-7 Scrotum Smasher, driving the waveshaping (pulser) and ring modulation functions of the discontinued TM-1 (minus the ring-modulator carrier oscillator). These two sections drive a VCO which was derived from the discontinued Metasonix TM-3."

Electroharmonix Small Stone and EMS Synthi Hi-Fli

via khoral's Cafe 80.
"The Small Stone is a revered phase shifter pedal from Electro Harmonix, with a most distinguished pedigree, harking back to the glory days of EMS, the groundbreaking british company responsible for such electronic marvels as the VCS3.

Engineer David Cockerell, first hired by EMS to work on early computer systems for music, designed in 1971 a very peculiar (and pricey according to long time user David Gilmour) guitar effect called the Synthi Hi-Fli, featuring advanced phase shifting and vibrato functions, along with that special EMS retro-futuristic look."

Moog Etherwave Plus CV Controller/Theremin

YouTube via MoogMusicInc
"The newest member of the Moog Etherwave Theremin family is also the newest member of its controller family. The new Etherwave Plus extends the Theremins gestural playing technique to the world of analog synthesis and beyond by allowing the user to control gear with a wave of a hand, controlling synthesizers and effects while playing the Theremin. Its also a stand-alone CV (Control Voltage) controller.

The Etherwave Plus CV control signals are proportional to the pitch and volume of the Theremins audio signal and can be connected to the pitch and volume CV inputs of a Little Phatty or other analog synthesizer for a new way to interact with a synth. www.moogmusic.com"
