Malekko B:ASSMASTER MODULE

"Germanium Harmonic Octave Analog Distortion Euro Module

Malekko Is proud to introduce the worlds first Germanium based fuzz Euro module! This is the same great octave fuzz as our B:ASSMASTER germanium but squeezed into a 12hp euro design. CV inputs for Ass Volume, Bass Volume, and Sensitivity make this already musical fuzz sound even more versatile!

Never again will you say, "Gosh, I sure wish I had a germanium based octave fuzz for this patch"-- because we just made it! So hide your dog, buy your sister earplugs and whatever you do don't scare your mom, cause things are going to get fuzzy in your modular system!!!"

You can find samples here.

This is a scan of an old 1982 Roland brochure I managed to keep all this time - HEY! so this is what Roland thought was good use of a TB-303 & TR-606! never minding that the TB-303 actually managed to change the direction of music forever from 1988 to date with the acid resonance movement!!!!"

Diabolical TR-505 Modular Jam

YouTube via bigcitymusic
"Sorry the loops don't match. Here's the Diabolical Devices TR-505 with pitch mods sequenced by the Elektron Machinedrum. We're running it into various modules. The modules are the Analogue Systems rs120, rs30, rs50, rs60, rs170, the Cwejman RES-4, MMF-1 and probably a couple more random modules. The combination of the rs30 Envelope Follower module with the Shaper section of the rs50 is a really powerful combination. The rs50 allows you to take a the envelope generated voltage and turn it into a pulse that the rs60 ADSR module can understand. Run the ADSR out to whatever you want! In this case we're sending it to the MMF-1 cutoff and the rs120's variable CV input."

PPG Modular System 300

via this auction

details in Googlish:
"Modular system. Historically, to document the development of the former German Synthi-scene, this is a very important and unique exhibit. It is probably time for the Berlin School synth in the 70s by RĂ¼diger Lorenz been built, one of the pioneers in the development and dissemination of synthesizers in Germany.
Mostly, it is equipped with PPG modules, but also some Syntec DiY modules or some modules from the master himself. The modules are distributed on two cases, each with its own 220V power. Both Cases with butterfly closures to a transport unit to be connected. Presumably, this system was for live use. The system is controlled by a Duo phonic PPG 322nd Keyboard Type
Since I am too little familiar with the details here an original info the previous owner:
'The set consists of 300 analog PPG sound modules, installed in a case and another case with SYNTEC PPG-modules and modules and a special trigger generator. Built is an octave filter bank with the bottom-right own LFOs per band filter. The modules are internally Cases in the "additional" wired. Various control lines (lines Trig, VC-lines) are additional switches, disconnectors jacks wired internally.'"

Doepfer POCKET DIAL MIDI CONTROLLER

via this auction
"A bit about the DOEPFER POCKET DIAL: The 4 bank buttons mean you have 64 (4x16) different MIDI controllers at your fingertips.

The rotary encoders work great (they are made by ALPS the best brand in knobs and faders) . Rotary encoders don't turn smooth as regular knobs, instead every small rotation makes a little 'click' that you can feel. The advantage of this is that when you make small adjustments, you can feel each increment/decrement so you know exactly what you are doing, you don't have to guess or see how much value change a certain rotation will result in. Another nice feature is that when you rotate a knob fast, the increments/decrements go in bigger steps, so a fast sweep ensures that the knob is in its maximum or minimum value.

* 16 high quality endless rotary encoders (alpha dials), manufacturer: ALPS
* solid silver-grey coeated metallic housing made of 1 mm steel
* measures about 25 x 9.5 x 4.5 cm
* black knobs, about 18 mm diameter, having a good grip
* distance between the knobs about 30 mm (from center to center)
* 4 banks that can be selected very fast via 4 buttons and blue LEDs (thus 64 "virtual" controllers are available)
* 32 presets (with 4 banks each, i.e. 128 presets altogether), selected via DIP switch at the rear panel
* program change button (as long as this buttons is pressed the encoder below no 8 transmits program change messages for fast preset changes of the unit controlled by POCKET DIAL)
* master channel button (for fast adjustment of the MIDI master channel, same function as Pocket Control)
* 24 detents/pulses per rotation, i.e. the data change is +/-24 per turn (if the encoder is turned slow, see acceleration)
* acceleration function, i.e. the data change increases if the encoders are turned faster

ORIGINAL RETAIL PRICE: 220 EURO = $300 USD (As of 03/19/09)"

"all transistor synthesizer in absolut top, rarely used all original condition from 1975 with polyphonic oscillator CV-ins"

Moog The Source

via this auction

"1982 Moog Source (aka The Source), a twin VCO monophonic analogue synthesiser... it has 16 patch memories, a great arpeggiator and sequencer built in! The sound is fully tweakable live whilst playing just like any other Moog; tap the function button you want to change, then spin the beautifully weighted increment control wheel, simple as that. Has S/trigger and CV in's and outs, so easy to hook up to Midi with something like a Kenton Pro-1 etc.

It's also worth noting that you should beware of MIDI retrofitted Moog Source's. Certain MIDI kits that also make the memories larger are well known to cause tuning problems...But no worries here, this machine is 100% original and not drilled or messed about with inside or out.

1967 FENDER RHODES PIANO BASS

via this auction

"Fender Rhodes with sparkle tops were produced between 1965-1969, and Piano Basses manufactured during this period feature: wooden piano hammers with tear drop shaped felt tips and untapered Raymac tines. This 32-key Piano Bass, essentially the bottom 32 notes of the Rhodes 73, produces that very rich pleasant bell-like tone specific to only mid-1960's Rhodes."

not the best shots, but you can read the controls / labels to get a sense of what this synthesizer offered. I believe it had weighted poly-aftertouch keyboard.

Vintage MOOG SANCTUARY Synth, Rick Powell Collection

via this auction

Church targeted version of the Memorymoog.

"It is part of the Rick Powell Collection. Rick was a musician, a major producer and a contemporary and close friend of Bob Moog, among others, and often received original units from manufacturers to test in the studios. Rick was my studio partner up until the day he passed away and his wife has asked me to sell some of the items that were studio kept for many years. There are many treasures in this collection and we will be adding them as they are photographed, tested and cataloged."
