Admin: Testing Link Colors

Just a note in case you see changes. Blue or Grey?

Update: I also changed the font size for the header menu above. It was just too busy/heavy imo.

Update: see this post for the new poll.

Be sure to see the other works there. Pretty amazing stuff.
"Magic Table is a tangible user interface that creates visual effects and sounds. By detecting the objects and movements on the table, the table reacts by displaying visual traces that mimic the objects or movements with abstract sound effects."

"We have a simple sequence running on the Roland SH-101 and ran it into the new Eventide PitchFactor harmonizer pedal.

Eventide has outdone themselves. This thing is fun! The "Quadravox" setting is super cool (listen to the last segment). It actually gives you four harmonies and you can offset their attack. This makes for some really great sounds that are sure to inspire you."

Doepfer Dark Energy

flickr by Analogue Haven

"The new standalone patchable synth from Doepfer, called Dark Energy. It will be shown at Frankfurt Musikmesse for the first time next week. Dark Energy is built into a rugged black metal case with wooden side plates. High quality potentiometers with metal shafts are used and each potentiometer is fixed to the case (no wobbly shafts and knobs). The distance between the controls is a bit wider compared to A-100 modules and knobs with vintage look are used. LINK"

Hohner Roland String Vox Arp String Ensemble

via this auction

"Vintage Hohner International String Vox Machine

String Section has Ensemble which is a chorus like effect just like the Arp String Ensemble. Strings sound eeriely like the Arp String Ensemble as well as a full, deep, rich, fat, lush sound. Also has harpsichord and electric piano sounds, but the real beauty is the classic vintage lush analog strings.

Steve Nieve used this with Elvis Costello and the Attractions a few years ago on tour.

Also reminiscent of Gary newman's 'Down in the Park " sound"

The auction links to this direct sample on Vintage Vibe. I normally do not like linking to direct samples on other sites, but I couldn't find it and posts must go on. Do check out Vintage Vibe. They repair vintage electronic keyboards including Wurlitzer, Rhodes, Honher and the like. I found their YouTube channel and will posting the synth-centric stuff shortly.

Wem Watkins Copicat trio

YouTube via zioguido.

KORG MS20, ARP Odyssey and Alesis Andromeda A6 make an appearance.
Synth demos at 1:41.

"These are my three Wem Copicats. One is the classic "Custom" Copicat, model IC-400, and I think it's the oldest of the three; one is the Super IC model with 4 playback heads, and the black cat is the VariSpeed model, the only Copicat with a DC motor capable of changing tape speed, and I think this is the newest. I don't know their ages or the production years precisely, but I suppose it's something between the late 60's and the early 70's. All 3 models are solid state.
I love them, I love tape and analog echo effects in general, the Roland Space Echo is my favourite, but Copicats have something special, not only in their tone.

Plus, they come from the inventor of the tape echo, Mr. Charlie Watkins.

If you can find one in good conditions, grab it with no esitation! And if you're into computer music and you just wish to have fun with one of these babies without having to buy one, try the free emulation: WatKat. You can download it here: http://www.genuinesoundware.com/?a=sh..."

Synth Noodle Part 1 - 4

"This is part 1 of a 40 minute video of me just experimenting with my Synthesizers.com modular synthesizer. I've had the video on my computer for some time and decided to upload it uncut (except, of course, for breaking it up to meet the 10 minute limit).

This demo is only an ice crystal on the tip of an iceberg. The possibilities for this synth is endless.

My synth is processed by a roland RE-20 tape echo pedal and also by a lexicon MX200."
