Jupiter-8 Cymbol

via Elhardt:
"I created a really good cymbal patch on the Jupiter-8 about 25 years ago. I
was lost when the backup battery went dead. I finally got around to
creating it again today. I takes advantage of the JP8's unison mode to turn
a whimpy metallic sound into a thick metallic harmonic spectrum leading to a
realistic sounding cymbal. MP3 below. First is the sound with unison
turned off completely dry, then with it turned on completely dry, then the
same sound with a longer decay and some reverb."

FROSTWAVE Analog Sequencer

via this auction
There's a video at the auction but at the time of this post it was set to private, so check later if interested.

"The fatController, a sturdy 16-note sequencer from Australia's Frostwave, is intuitive to use and comes with plenty of features. is a must-have for anyone using their modular system as a performance or recording device.
This unit will work with all analog modular synths.
The fatController's cream-colored chassis measures 9.5 inches wide by 8.0 inches deep. The 16 sliders are lined up in two parallel rows of eight and offer the right amount of resistance when moved. That makes it easier to zero in on notes, and jostling the unit isn't likely to move a slider and mess up your sequence. Additionally, the sliders are well spaced, so you can comfortably tune individual notes without disturbing the others.
The fatController's two modes of operation are Serial and Parallel. In Serial mode, you get the full range of 16 notes from the CV A output: row A plays first, followed by row B. In Serial mode, the CV B output gives you only the notes set up in row B.

The Modifier buttons beneath the sliders, in Global or Function mode, give you control over a variety of aspects of the sequence. For example, in Global mode, the Direction button allows you to play the sequence forward or backward or loop it forward and backward. The Groove button, on the other hand, lets you add one of eight swing settings to your sequence.

To change the overall tempo, hit the Function button until the LED next to Speed lights up. Then, hit one of the eight buttons below the sliders to choose one of eight tempo ranges: button 1's range is the slowest, and button 8's is the fastest. Now you can tweak the tempo knob to taste.

In a similar way, you can easily add rests, change the octave of a note, or change the number of steps in the sequence. Such an intuitive interface is what makes this a great sequencer for real-time performance."

Analogue Solutions SEMblance Analog SEM Clone Synth

"Analogue Solutions SEMblance synthesizer. This is a wonderful little analog monosynth modeled after the classic Oberheim SEM Synth Expander Module. The sounds that come out of this thing are absolutely delicious. The VCO's make the raw sound come to life with variable sync and FM options and the multimode filter makes it perfect for everything from basslines to leads."

Modcan VC AHDBDSR 64B

via Modcan
"Capitalizing on the knowledge and expertise gained during the development of the Quad Envelope 60B, the VC AHDBDSR 64B represents our commitment towards perfecting the modular Envelope Generator. The 64B is a single envelope "one knob per function" real-time design with no hidden features that is a major step up from the standard ADSR with added Hold, Break and two stage Decay for surgical precision over short envelope contours.
Envelope segment times and levels can be modulated individually or in groups, with CV destination assignment via MOD SELECT panel control.
Envelope amplitude or level is CV controllable by internal VCA.
Amplitude control is an ideal use of the MCV 63B Velocity control feature or in use with any other modules that generate CVs.
The 64B can also be used as a 5 stage LFO in LOOP mode
with the ability to reset the LFO cycle by RE-TRIGGER input pulse.
In envelope mode RE-TRIGGER can re fire the envelope while GATE is high or GATE alone can be used to trigger envelope in the conventional manner. Other features include Linear, Expo and Log
contour shapes as illustrated below. Super fast attack time at 0.3mS,
roughly 3 times faster than traditional EGs.

Module Highlights:
* 5 stages with break level between Decay stages 1 & 2
* CV control of individual and grouped stage durations
* CV control of envelope/LFO output level
* Dual mode Envelope or LFO functions
* Re trigger of envelope or reset LFO start
* CV AMOUNT is bi-polar for adding or subtracting duration
* Fast attack time = 300uS
* Linear, Expo and Log envelope shapes
* Surgical precision for short percussive sounds
* Low current consumption
* Firmware by Tom Wiltshire

Specs:
Output sample rate: 25kHz@16bit
Output: 0 - 5V @330ohms
Input CV: 0 - 5V @100Kohms
Gate Inputs: +5V @100Kohms
Power: 65mA@+15V, 15mA@-15V"

Modcan DUAL FS 65B

via Modcan where you'll find samples
"As with many modules in a larger system "One is good but two is better". For Frequency Shifters the Dual FS 65B is a two for one
and includes Ring Modulation and phase effects modes as well.

The 65B is an entirely digital interpretation of the standard Bode Frequency shifter model which achieves numerous significant benefits over its analogue predecessor, primarily the dual configuration.
Other advantages include stable low distortion quadrature sine carrier for accurate sideband generation, digital math eliminates feed thru error found in typical analogue multipliers . No need for squelch circuitry. Other benefits include absolute stability at low shifts, low noise signal path and zero maintenance calibration ...EVER. There are probably only a handful of Bode FSs in the hands of users that are ever within factory specs at any given time due to complicated and costly calibration procedure. With the 65B that will never be an issue and you will always have an accurate and precise instrument regardless of ambient temperature or age. Analogue Frequency shifters still maintain superior high frequency response over digital but due to the nature of the effect the difference is small.
Another important consideration is that it would be both cost and space prohibitive to implement a matched set of dual FS in analogue with similar features and performance.

The real fun begins when the two independent FS sections are internally patched in series and parallel configurations via the mode selection control. This allows for some seriously altered stereo effects with near 3D results.

Module Highlights:
* 2 independent Frequency Shifter channels in one package
* 11 modes including FS, Ring Mod and Phase effects
* CV and 1V/oct control of shift
* On-board internal feedback controls for each channel
* Clip indicators
* +/-5kHz Exponential Shift range
* Through Zero operation
* High Quality Codec
* 16bit Audio
* Zero calibration maintenance
* 20Hz-20khz response
* Modest current consumption
* Firmware by Eric Brombaugh

Specs:
Sample Rate: 45kHz
Sample Resolution: 16-bit
Output: typical 2V RMS@1Kohms
Input: typical 5V pk-pk@100Kohms
Input CV: 0 - +5V @100Kohms
Power: +15V @130mA, -15V @20mA"

Calvin Harris, girls in bikinis and the human synthesizer 2

Calvin Harris - Humanthesizer - the first human synth

YouTube via icreateddisco - VIMEO vid below.
"Calvin performs a version of his new single Ready For The Weekend on a unique human synthesiser. The instrument employs 15 bikini clad models painted with Bare Conductive, a new skin safe ink which conducts electricity. When the performers touch the connection completes a circuit, triggering a sound.

The instrument consists of 34 pads on the floor which have been painted with the conductive ink and connected to a computer via some clever custom electronics. The performers stand on the pads, and touch hands to complete a circuit and trigger a sound. Different combinations of pads trigger the different sounds needed to play the track.

The project is the result of a collaboration between Calvin Harris and masters students from the Royal College of Art's Industrial Design Engineering programme.

Bare Conductive was developed by RCA students Bibi Nelson, Becky Pilditch, Isabel Lizardi and Matt Johnson. The custom electronics and software for the project were created by Matt Johnson, employing two Arduinos and the graphical audio programming tool Max MSP. The performers, floor pads, Arduinos and Max MSP combine to create a giant MIDI controller which is used to create music which is sequenced and quantized with Ableton Live.

Serge + Volta + Kaossilator

"Serge analog modular synthesizer controlled by Volta and Korg Kaossilator. This video's audio is very rough sounding. I don't think it sounds very good, but the concept remains interesting nonetheless. Volta is an AU plugin software for Mac that allows precise control of an Analog Modular using 10 different control objects. I've gotten many Serge M-odule sections to calibrate to volta; Variable Q, DSG, VC Timegen OSC, and VC Timegen Clock (both sides of both) calibrate and stay calibrated at constant temperature for long periods of time to the 1v/oct signal of Volta. Volta makes MIDI to CV converters obsolete."
