MOTM E350 Morphing Terrarium stereo samples

via Paul S on AH:
"Here are 2 "knob twiddling" samples of the upcoming Euro E350 Morphing Terrarium wavetable module. The module has 3 banks of 64 wavetable each (these demos use only Bank A, a sinewave harmonic bank). The 2 audio outputs are called XY MORPH and Z MORPH. The wavetables are arranged as a 8 x 8 matrix, and the X & Y MORPH CVs index into the wavetable, while the Z is a linear index from #1 to #64. The DSP then interpolates from 2 *adjacent* wavetables. In this manner, we get ~ 4100 different waveforms per bank.

The demo uses a LFO into the MORPH Z CV input (right audio). The XY audio (left channel) is just turning the 2 panel pots.

www.synthtech.com/demo/e350/e350_stereo2.mp3

There are a few "dropouts" when I bumped the alligator clips on the cables and 1 "noise glitch" when I jiggled the power cable trying to keep my cat Moses from jumping on the bench to investigate all the racket.

Additional info is on the Euro forum at www.muffwiggler.com (panel mockups, etc). The modules will be sold via Analogue Haven and Schneidersburo in late Nov/early Dec.

introducing "The saucer"

YouTube via DamagedMeat
"This is a short, bad quality video clip presenting "The saucer", my latest interactive art/design project.
It features a vibrating aluminium sheet, with salt on it creating patterns depending on the sound frequency.
Sound is generated by a modular synthesizer. The saucer plays sounds, displays lights and patterns as one approches it, using the theremin principle.

The possibilities are infinite and I will upload a long high quality video soon."

why

YouTube via raulsworldofsynths. Native Instruments Absynth.
"short little experiment using major 2nds. Synthesizer voice one plays in whole note one measure phrases, Synthesizer voice 2 plays in whole note two measure phrases, Synthesizer voice 3 plays in whole note four measure phrases, Synthesizer voice 4 plays in whole note eight measure phrases, and Synthesizer voice 5 plays whole note ten measure phrases. There is a delay of two measures between each voice entry.
Vocals are doubled, mangled and modified. The primary vocal speaks in words elongated across two measures. The second vocal is time-stretched so that each word is spread across four measures and overlaps with the primary voice."

"This is to show you that the LFO outs are audible. There is a range selection switch: Hyper, normal, slow.
(2) outputs can be morphed with the shape knob. You can make a double saw or trapezoidal shape with those."

dual lfo take002

"This demo shows you the dual lfo being used to control a polivoks filter. The filter is put into self rezonance. The lfo is making it twirp chaotic."

via GetLoFi where you'll find some additional info.

"Don’t be afraid to touch and interact with the artwork in Hands On, presented by Chicago-based collective, Deadline Projects. Breaking down boundaries between art and audience in this one-night exhibition, local artists unveil new work specifically created to be touched, handled, and manipulated by the audience. Hands On is part of Chicago Artists Month 2009, the fourteenth annual celebration of Chicago’s vibrant visual art community. In October, more than 200 exhibitions of emerging and established artists, openings, demonstrations, tours, open studios and neighborhood art walks take place at galleries, cultural centers and arts buildings throughout the city. Electro-Harmonix Effectology, Vol.8 Telstar

YouTube via Effectology

"Electro-Harmonix Effectology, Vol.8 Telstar-The Clavioline

Welcome to Electro-Harmonix's "Effectology" series, in which we create a remarkable collection of sounds using just a regular guitar and EHX effect pedals!
No keyboards, samplers or midi pickups were used.

In today's episode studio musician Bill Ruppert recreates the classic hit Telstar using just a guitar and Electro-Harmonix effect pedals.

Telstar was one of the fist pop hits to feature a synthesizer.
The Clavioline was a very early synthesizer using vacuum tubes.
Bill Ruppert also demonstrates some very unusual effects through the video as well.

EHX Pedals featured:Soul Preacher, Stereo Memory Man, Big Muff, Pulsar, Poly Phase, MicroSynth, Cathedral, Poly Chorus"

Circuit Bending Improv - Kids Drum

YouTube via kerikino
"Found this "kids drum" at goodwill/salvation army.

I've had difficulty making practical use of circuit bent toys, because of their unpredictability. However, in this case I feel like the Kids drum is somewhat practical. I realize that a lot of cthe circuit bent charm is the in the uncertainty of what sounds will come out, etc... But i wanted to go beyond circuit bending for circuit bendings sake and tried to harness both the alien nature of the bent toy and then the more human side. My description probably makes little sense. You be the judge I guess."
