"Sequential Circuits Pro One - J wire version. Serial # 91"

  1. The seller claims that the filter is better due to the earlier serial number.

I've never heard that claim about the CEM3320. Has any body else ever heard that?

  2. No, the seller is lying or doesn't know any better. The earlier models had the same filter and signal path as the later models. One difference between earlier and later models, though, was that the power supply was mounted differently. The early models had the power supply mounted on the main PCB as opposed to the chassis.

  3. This synth has the power supply mounted to the chasis. It was professionally relocated as they found that to be a better method later on. I played this pro one and 2 other j wire models, and got to compare to j wires to 1 membrane in the same environment. The sound is noticably different to me. The later membrane version had a sound that cut through the mix the more, and th early j wire versions had a warmer sound. Do you know if they have the exact same parts in all versions of the Pro One? Are they all from the same manufacture and the same production line? Cheers, Darrin
