FORMANTA RHYTHM FRET NECK RARE SOVIET USSR GUITAR

via this auction
"FORMANTA RHYTHM FRET NECK GUITAR — INCREDIBLY RARE VINTAGE SOVIET GEAR.
LOOKS REALLY LIKE A CRAZY-SPACE-GUITAR ;]

The unit has one connection plug - Soviet 5DIN. As far as I know it used as an addition to FORMANTA UDS and MARSH UDS drum sets. Unfortunately I don't posess any of these so I cannot test the unit anyhow. It has 7 buttons on front side and 2 on the back. According to manual while tapping the "SPHERIC THING" the unit sends trigger commands to the control module. Probably it can trigger any drum machine or kinda. I cannot know that for sure, sorry..."

Frostwave Fat Controller step sequencer midi CV

via this auction. See the seller's other items for more.

"The Fat Controller has independent gate and control voltage (CV) outputs for both channels. The sequencer can be synchronized with a midi clock or din sync signal using the MIDI IN and DIN IN inputs. The MIDI OUT provides quantized CV A notes for midi instruments. The sequencer has 7 types of buttons and sliders. Each type is outlined below. Specific types will be explained in following sections.

NOTE SLIDERS:
The position of these sliders determines the note to be played or voltage level output.

CONTROL BUTTONS:
The Control Buttons play, pause and reset the sequencer.

SEQUENCE KNOBS AND SWITCH:
The knobs control the slide time, gate time and internal tempo while the switch sets the channel B range.

FUNCTION BUTTONS AND LED's:
The function buttons are use to select the function you wish to change.

CHANNEL BUTTONS AND NOTE FLASH LED's:
The Channel Buttons select the channel you wish to change (note some functions ignore the channel selection). The channel LED's are 'on' for the current channel selected. Every new note played will flash the LED on the channel it is played.

GLOBAL BUTTON AND GLOBAL DISPLAY:
The Global Button selects the global mode and the display shows the status of the global function that is selected. To select a global function use the modifier buttons.

MODIFIER BUTTONS AND LED's:
The Modifier buttons change the corresponding note of the currently selected function. (e.g. adding a slide on a particular note). When in Global Mode the modifier buttons are used to select and change a global function."

M-Audio is Now Avid

via M-Audio
"You’ve probably noticed quite a few changes across all parts of M-Audio® and Avid® this past year—changes that are part of a larger plan to bring cutting-edge technologies and solutions to you faster than ever before. As you've seen with products like Pro Tools® M-Powered™, the coming together of industry leaders can mean exciting things for our customers. While we continue our journey to create a new, unified Avid, we’d like to give you an update about the changes you’ll begin seeing now and in the future.

Who is Avid?
Founded in 1987, Avid revolutionized video production by pioneering digital non-linear editing. Avid video products, including Media Composer® software, quickly became the leading tools for filmmakers, video editors, and broadcast organizations. M-Audio joined the Avid family back in August 2004, bringing the company into a portfolio that already included Digidesign®—makers of the studio-standard Pro Tools recording platform. Since then, Avid also brought industry leaders Pinnacle® and Sibelius® into the family, helping to empower a new generation of aspiring professionals and enthusiasts with powerful tools to create music and video easily and affordably—with professional results.

Earlier this year, Avid joined all of its world-class divisions together, including M-Audio, as a unified Avid. This proven team creates the technology used to make the most listened to, most watched, and most loved media in the world. With a full range of video editing, audio production, music creation, notation, and live sound expertise all under one roof, Avid is stronger and more agile than ever, working as one to provide you with the most powerful, elegant, and comprehensive solutions for media creation.

Moving Forward: M-Audio is Avid
You’ve likely already started seeing the Avid logo in M-Audio ads, on the website, in videos, and more. As part of the next steps in our transformation, you'll continue to see the Avid brand more prominently in M-Audio products. We also have some exciting updates in store for 2010, including a brand new newsletter, expanded online support resources, and integration with a new, expanded Avid website.

As one integrated team, all of the passionate people who’ve been instrumental in creating our game-changing solutions used throughout music and film, video, and broadcast now have greater potential than what any one of our companies could achieve on its own. We hope you’re as excited as we are about what the future holds."

Sequentix Cirklon

via Sequentix
"Cirklon is a totally new hardware sequencer design, with software based on the P3, but greatly improved both in usability and internal operation.

The user-interface is based around a 240x64 pixel graphic LED display, 19 rotary encoders with push-switches, 2 assignable knobs, 35 high-quality Cherry keys with integrated LEDs, and a further 35 tri-colour status LEDs.

Cirklon has 16 tracks, with 5 independent MIDI INs and OUTs to connect a large number of controllers and synths/sound modules while keeping MIDI latency to a minimum.
There will also be USB MIDI, native CV/gate support, and a dedicated DIN sync output.

The 32-bit, 72MHz ARM Cortex CPU runs a proprietary sequencer engine to ensure optimum timing accuracy.
All MIDI ports are provided by hardware serial ports in the CPU core itself.
The CV/gate connectivity will be available in two levels - a pair of 12-bit resolution CV and gate outputs, or an external CV breakout box with a large number of CV outs (details to be finalised).

Pattern storage is comprised of 2MB battery-backed internal RAM and 512MB internal NAND flash, with a SD/MMC card socket for data backup.

Cirklon will go into production just as soon as we have finalised the design of the production enclosure.
We hope to start shipping in low volume in March.

Price is expected to be under 1000 ukp.

Obviously this one is not in a final enclosure..."

They completely cleaned the inside of the synth and replaced a frayed power cord. To my knowledge the only thing not stock on this prophet is the power cord"

I am playing the Roland D-50 and the Alpha Juno-1 bass patch. The Korg EMX-1 is running a preset drum pattern that has been edited. This pattern was written by Korg.
This was a fun, experimental composition. Just improvised like always.
Please enjoy!
