Yamaha C605 Electone Organ Improvisation

YouTube via martythevampire1 — March 23, 2010 — "This is an improvised tune with my Yamaha C605 electone organ from 1982 showing what you can get out of the accompanyment arpegiator. The audio is fed out into a Zoom 1202 effects rack for the delay (via the organs aux output and aux input jacks). The sound is just the internal speakers (sorry theres no direct audio input on the camera) I love the choir sounds on this as they can get a bit mellotronesque.

Excuse the playing, this is only me messing around and to show the kind of things you can get out of these old beasts rather than the typical cheesy 'Home organ' style.

Before anyone asks, this doesn't have midi or a c.v. interface (control voltage), neither is there any sync or clock output. You can stack multiple sounds up though: upper manual sounds, upper enemble sounds, solo sound plus special section sounds all together.

I have a few more videos I will be uploading in the next few days showing some other features and sounds it can make."

Yamaha C605 Bass Pedals Playing Synth Sound (Synthe) preset

"martythevampire1 — March 23, 2010 — Yamaha C605 bass pedals switched to play 'Synthe' sound on the bass pedals, a great filtered synth sound."

via this auction
"Its a great organ, and quite capable of some fantastic analog synth strings, choirs brass and synth effects, its not massively programmable as such but you can stack a lot of the sounds up together (strings, choir, solo synthe and harpsichord) or simply use it as a nice home organ sound. You can alter the attack and release (sustain) envelope on the ensemble sounds. Built in rythym and arpeggiator section can provide nice backing. Built in spring reverb and good leslie/vibrato/chorus effects and it is very flexible in terms of where and how you can assign the voices.

Overall condition for a 28 year old organ is pretty good"

Roland System 100m vs MFOS - DIY modular VCF shootout

Audio comes in at :18
YouTube via hnydell — June 15, 2010 — "Comparison between Roland System 100m 121 VCF module and the Music From Outer Space 4-pole VCF.
Setup: MFOS 16 step sequencer driving two MFOS VCOs. Each VCF is fed a sawtooth and a pulse wave from the VCOs, slightly detuned. An MFOS AR envelope controls the VCA (Sys 100m 130), an MFOS ADSR controls the two filters. The sequencer is in 2x8 mode, where the second half later is patched in to the VCF control.
Since the 100m uses 15 volts, the MFOS adsr (12V) cannot really sweep through the full VCF frequency span on the 121. This is not very apparent though."

Diabolical Devices Fuzz Burglar

YouTube via bigcitymusic — June 15, 2010 — "Here's a demo of the crushing Fuzz Burglar. We're playing a 70's Strat into a vintage Fender Princeton silver-face. The Fuzz Burglar can do some tamer fuzzes but it excels at blistering, gnarly fuzz. Engage the self-oscillation and blast off!

There's a twelve-position rotary switch that controls the range of your base pitch and there's a knob for adjusting/tuning the oscillations. There's also a momentary "Drop" switch that will drop the oscillations down roughly an octave. The Fuzz Burglar can also sort of track the pitch of your guitar when playing single-note lines, giving you some great synth-like sounds. Tune the oscillations to the key of your song and shred. Works great on synths too."

Kenny´s Death - Studio Integration

Ensoniq OEX-6sr Output Expander

via this auction

"Operation Manual: http://bipolarization.com/asr/OEX-6sr.pdf

From The Manual: 'The OEX6sr is a multi-function digital device that adds six individual outputs, or three additional pairs of stereo outputs to an

ASR- 10, ASR-88, or EPS-16 PLUS keyboard, enhancing the capabilities and flexibility of the ASR/EPS-16 PLUS.

The power of the OEX-6sr Output Expander lies in its unique configuration: six individual outputs or three stereo pairs (AUX 1,

AUX 2, AUX 3). The addition of these outputs allows you to route separate signals for independent processing, or isolate parts

for click or monitoring references. Even individual WaveSamples within an instrument (for instance, the snare and kick drum from a

drum kit) can be sent to different outputs for discrete external effects processing (such as with the ENSONIQ DP/4+ Parallel

Effects Processor). The design of this product resulted from customer requests for a multi-purpose output device that could be

configured with stereo outputs and/or individual outputs.'"

"little WOC 125 Mini Electronic Organ, Original 1970s with original Box and all packing.

A great retro piece for any keyboard collector, looks wicked on a shelf with the cool 1970s look.

It's in excellent condition with original box. it has 9v in, Vibrato and loudness buttons

It's in working condition and sounds funly, a couple of the keys are tempermental and require a bit harder press to get them working. Also included is a 9v adaptor so you can run it off the mains.

A great mini Showpiece for any Synth collector"

Waldorf Microwave XTk Wavetable Synthesizer

via this auction
Note this one is damaged.
"As a spiritual successor to the PPG wave, and a direct successor to the original Microwave 1, the XTk is one of the most versatile and great sounding synths I've had the pleasure of owning, and it carries their torch nicely. It can go from super lofi dirty crunchy bass to warm lush analog sounding pads from one patch to the next. The versatility in the XTk, and the amazing filters from waldorf make this one of my favorite pieces I've ever used. My favorite filter is probably the Waveshaper filter. Being a NIN fan has tuned me to the sound of distortion and noise, and being able to use the wavetable waveforms as saturation curves is a really great sound. The sin X LP filter is also a great one for nasty basses, and the LP into BP combo makes for some great evolving pads.

The XTk is all over my first album (it is literally on every song - which you can hear here: http://music.wearereplicants.com - the last song is one XTk patch through the sherman filterbank 2)"
