"A Sneak peak at what I've been working on ..Made with Synth Edit. Design and concept inspired by the Yamaha RS7000, hopefully to be a VSTI plugin Virtual Analog software synthesizer as a companion for the RS7000 or use by itself inside your choice of softstudio that accept VST plugins.

I've had to build the Amp, Filter, Pitch switch that crosses over between the LFO and the first EG's ADSRs. Also the Pitch ADSR was really wonky compared to how the RS's acts, but I actually got it to pitch both ways, rare from what I've seen on all the synth edit examples to have a decent working Pitch EG."

"Bob Moog Foundation Needs Worldwide Votes to Win a $250,000

Grant from the Pepsi Refresh Project for MoogLab

December 2, 2010 - Asheville, NC – The Bob Moog Foundation has made it to the voting round of this month's Pepsi Refresh Project. The Foundation has applied for a $250,000 grant to support its innovative MoogLab educational outreach program. MoogLab brings electronic musical instruments such as theremins and synthesizers into schools to ignite children's creativity through the intersection of science and music. Winning the grant is based on popular vote.

The Foundation is calling on all Moog supporters everywhere to vote daily, both online and by text. Help us win the grant by making your vote count not just once, but twice:

* Supporters can vote daily at this link: http://www.refresheverything.com/bobmoogfoundation
* In addition, supporters can also vote daily by texting 104827 to Pepsi (73774)
* Supporters can find other ways to help this effort here

The Pepsi Refresh Project (http://www.refresheverything.com/) gives away $1.3 million per month to fund great ideas that refresh our communities. The MoogLab application specifies that curriculum development will begin in Asheville, NC, and the program will spread to Los Angeles; Washington, DC; Atlanta; Minneapolis; and Detroit within a year's time. In MoogLab, children play electronic instruments and learn the basic physics that makes the instruments work.

The Bob Moog Foundation (www.moogfoundation.org) honors the legacy of synthesizer pioneer Bob Moog through its mission of educating and inspiring people with the intersection of music, history, science, and innovation. Its projects include the MoogLab Student Outreach Program, which brings electronic musical instruments into the schools to teach children science through music; the Archive Preservation Initiative, an effort to preserve and protect the inventor's extensive and historic archive; and the future Moogseum, an innovative educational, historic, and cultural facility to be located in Asheville within the next five years.

The Bob Moog Foundation is an independent, donor-driven 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and is not formally affiliated with Moog Music, Inc."

Electroacoustic Freakout.

Electroacoustic Freakout. from Livid Instruments on Vimeo.

"I've been working on some new tools for our controllers, and in the process of prototyping some effect chains, I dug out this old Max patch of mine. Based on the resonators~ object from CNMAT (cnmat.berkeley.edu), it creates sounds based on "exciting" a model of a resonant body. Of course, because it is on a computer, it is super screwy. Because it is based on a physical model, I can claim a lofty "electroacoustic" lineage.
I quickly got distracted from my initial task to see if I could create some interesting sound processors from it, and hooked it up to my block. The grid of rubber buttons quickly revealed themselves as an ideal companion for an electro-acoustic freakout in which I could simultaneously feel like Sun-Ra and Stockhausen. But, really, I'm just getting sidetracked. I got to get back to work, and I hope you like the sounds..."
