"# Controls on/near the hand-grip: Bender - up only, like a bending a guitar string, this stock control is proportionally assignable to pitch and/or filter frequency.
# Modulation switch - momentary, like the bender up-motion, this stock control applies modulation such as vibrato or other effects.
# Filter frequency - moved here for opening or muffling the overtones of the oscillators - this is pretty much the most expressive knob on the keyboard, now available for your left hand anytime during performance.
# Hold - a second hold button, in addition to the one on top, but here you can use it when standing.
# Portamento - this also works in parallel with the stock portamento switch, but is a momentary toggle, allowing you to slide between notes, then immediately return to non-slide mode when you relase the switch.
# Octave - moved here for very fast octave changes, reachable by your left pinky finger, leaving your other left hand fingers free for the other controls. This gives you a 4.5 octave range durinng stand-up performance, without your right hand ever leaving the keyboard - uheard of in most strap-on synths!
# Volume - moved here for easy fade-ins and fade-outs while playing.
# (Repositioning the controls does not alter the original sound of this warm and fat-sounding vintage gem. Previous mounting holes have been blocked, but the paint does not match all areas perfectly, due to the age of the plastic. The unit has been professionally serviced this year, including cleaning of all controls.)"

PIC32MX SID Player (CUI32 Board)
YouTube via markusgritsch | May 08, 2010 |
"Hi,
I managed to compile the TinySID library for the CUI32. This library can play music from the Commodore 64 by emulating its 6502 CPU and 6581 SID (Sound Interface Device). Everything is done in software -- no additional hardware is needed.
Usage: Connect a headphone or line-in to the RD0 pin. Different tunes can be selected by pressing the PROG button on the CUI32.
The firmware can be downloaded from Google Code: http://cui32.googlecode.com/
Have fun,
Markus
P.S.: The audible artifacts stem from the audio capturing using my iPhone, not from the library or the hardware :)"

effect on casio"
via this auction
"circuit bent casio pt-82 added scuzz effect that has audio in and out that is patchable at the rca patch bay located on the front of the keyboard also added lfo with 2 types selected buy toggle on of on switch. there are 2 drum bends as well selected buy toggle on of on switch lfo scuzz and bends each have there own knob the rca patch bay is keyboard out suzz 1 in scuzz 2 in scuzz out. only one scuzz input at a time will work they are 2 different types i just patched them out instead of having a toggle. this thing makes some amazingly cool sounds the drum bends cause it to geek out sometimes when used with the other effects. just reset it and its fine. the scuzz also has 3 body contacts.this is a good piece for any experimental or electronic musician to have lying around the studio. the cheesey song card has been removed to make room for the new controls.in the video i am using a game boy to demonstrate the keyboard as an effect unit i also demo the key boards using the lfo and the scuzz effect bult in to the keyboard i am patching the keys out from the 1/8 out on the side but there is an added rca out on the patch bay i just did not have an rca cable handy takes dc power 6.5v or aa bat. makes great 8 bit chip tune like sounds"

Paul Haugen demos the Crumar T1
YouTube via sounddoctorin | December 05, 2010 | 1 likes, 0 dislikes
"Bob Weigel (Http://www.sounddoctorin.com) videos and clowns around while Paul plays the Crumar T1, a great hammond emulator of the late 70's. These machines have the basic elements of a DS-1/2 type synthesizer with the same chips for oscillation and filtration, though far fewer features. Only cutoff, resonance, decay and footages though a sustain or percussive envelope selection can also be made. Or the bass can be turned off for full width organ. They also give a wider number of bass notes than many combo organs. Great machine. Kinda towards an arp omni bass sound and three organ presets plus drawbars and a large number of percussion footage switches and two types of key click, volume and decay for paraphonic percussion."
Midi glockenspiel
YouTube via hotchk155 | December 05, 2010 |
"I bought this kids glockenspiel for a £1 yesterday and performed a "MIDI conversion" using 8 solenoids, PIC16F688 microcontroller, TIP120 transistors and 6N139 isolator. Looks like I might have to work on the tuning though.... MIDI sequenced from REAPER on a PC - if glock was actually in tune I might have spent more time on the music :)"

Yamaha RS7000: Sequencing -Drums, Bass, Synths
Korg MS2000: Pads
Yamaha AN200: Space FX
Yamaha MO6: Lead
Akai Miniak: Sound FX and Pads
The Yamaha PSR4600 is a rare "Arranger" keyboard from 1990-1991. Features a 1st generation AWM synthesis and a 2 OP FM synth. All voices can be edited to some degree. Edited voices are retained after power off.
Some sounds feature a bit of wavetable sequencing, much like a Yamaha TG-33.
The editing consists of just a few parameters for envelope, LFO speed & depth, FM feedback and velocity.
Instead of pitch and modulation wheels, it has roll bars. The bars are firm and well made.
Velocity sensitive keys can be enabled/disabled.
A simple 5 track sequencer.
MIDI in/out/thru
Digital reverb (hall, room & echo)
also has a weird solo mode with arpeggio-like features."

Moog Slim Phatty Song - Moogolar System
YouTube via audibleobsession | December 05, 2010 | 0 likes, 0 dislikes
"I've made the following video with the intention of testing out and demonstrating the smoother, more thoughtful side of my new Moog Slim Phatty (but not without some durt! Look out for the noise and the very wet sounding S&H at the 1:40 mark). All loops are first takes, just cycling through some preset patches and building a simple song together. There is no additional processing.
Please note that the Slim Phatty sounds exactly the same as the Little Phatty. I own both and picked up the Slim Phatty for rackmounting in my live rig. I'm not sure how I feel about the cosmetic differences; the Slim Phatty does feel quite a bit cheaper...but, then again, it is cheaper!"
