"Just completed the mod for the Monotron to have CV/Gate/Cutoff mod inputs. This makes the Monotron 100% musically useful. Sounds great being sequenced by the 101 =o] I'll add a video soon, and pics of the inside."

Recording audio on iPad with Behringer U-control UCA222 (MultiTrack Daw app)

YouTube via mvpadrini | December 27, 2010 |

"Testing the cheap and compact audio interface UCA222 for recording audio on iPad. Even with the power limitations of iOS 4.2 for external devices the UCA222 works nice with the Camera Connection Kit. No external power supply needed. It's a nice solution for recording in stereo keeping the mobility.

For this video I used the Multitrack Daw app and a Korg Microx. The demo song is an excerpt of Renaissance's Can You Understand (Ashes are burning, 1973).

KORG DS-10 PLUS: 'The Piano' by Jazztronik

YouTube via seehanth001 | December 27, 2010 |

"Here's my recreation of 'The Piano'. The DS-10 Plus does the backing track while I play the piano. It's slightly arranged. This song was recreated by ear, like all of my DS-10 recreations. 'The Piano' is one of my favourite songs by Jazztronik. Please enjoy!! :D

The backing track was created entirely on Korg DS-10 Plus.
Arranged and performed by Anthony Seeha. =)

*Yeah, I noticed that I have some timing issues. -_-'''''
*Oh, and unfortunately, I was too reluctant to figure out the left hand part at 2:47"

The Spacebox - Another Kyle Weiss Noisemaker

YouTube via KillKyleWeiss | April 08, 2010 |

"Add a Pro-Rythm D2 drum synth thing, an old 1940's tube test box, a Dauz pad and a cheap First Act delay pedal (plus some tweaking)... and you have: Der Spacebox. Not pretty, like most of my crap, and not exactly original, I just wanted a space-drum clone but with more features in a not-so-tidy package. Rustic improvements include real apple branches as build tiers, clothespins to keep wires from getting yanked too far from the holes in the box, and frustrated cursing because the "engineering," of this thing renders it moody at the slightest touch-- yet you're supposed to bang on it. Dauz pad is not actually hooked up, it's just a place to beat the box to trigger the internal contact (compression?) microphone. Though the Dauz pad would happily hook up to something else to play in tandem. I am not a drummer. I just wanted noise. Take that, Internet."

1st bend, Casiotone MT-40, The White Nightmare

YouTube via KillKyleWeiss | August 17, 2008 |

"NEW! Updated video here:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DrdCHr... [below]

A try at a new interest. This whole "circuit bending," hooplah. Okay, fine.

This Casiotone MT-40 keyboard had something spilled in it long ago by a roommate, who then gave it to me. It sounded awful. So it was begging to be tortured.

Now it tortures ears. (No vintage whores chastising me for ruining it. Shhh.) A combination of manual and auto modes, crosswired push-switches and toggles, and "The Nipple." Made from a steering-column lock bolt from a 1978 Toyota corolla, it is a touch-sensitive digalog pitch-bender of sorts. It also makes the poor White Nightmare hate life and complain when you use certain buttons in conjunction with it. Which, requires a restart once in a while.

I discover new ear-bleeding effects with just the six additions every day! Cosmetically its a sad-ass project. Audibly it is schizophrenic.

It will be used on stage, most likely as an analog noise generator, and fill-in box. Hope you like The White Nightmare, named after the butt-rocker era from whence it came."

The White Nightmare: Revisited.

KillKyleWeiss | October 21, 2009 |

"A lot of people asked me when I upgraded The White Nightmare, to post a video. Well, it happened. I did the extra filter bends with a blue knob, and a couple of main-keys glitch switches about six months ago. Procrastinate much? Not I! Same fun as the original White Nightmare, but now with new ear-splitting rage."

ROLAND JSQ-60 DCB Sequencer

via this auction
"This sequencer connects to a Juno 60 or Jupiter 8a (and modified early Jupiter 8s) via its hardwired DCB cable and allows you to record and overdub up to 2000 note sequences either in real time or in single step loading. It features two DIN Sync outs, allowing control of anything equipped with a DIN Sync socket (ie, TB-303, TR-808, TR-606, CR-8000 etc). It also has a tape interface for saving/loading compositions, which can be used with almost any recording/playback medium (eg computer DAW) for backing up recorded songs. It retains the last composition in internal memory, even when switched off. It is powered by a standard 9v boss type adaptor (not included)."

via this auction
"This unit was at one time owned by Peter Brown, and there is a service log on the back of the unit documenting this - see the photos. Here is some information on Peter Brown from allmusic.com: 'Peter Brown first came to fame with the first million-selling 12" dance single, "Do Ya Wanna Get Funky with Me." Brown was a pioneer in home recording, having recorded his seminal hit in his bedroom. (His '70s-era home recording studio is pictured on the cover of Westside/DNA's Get Funky with Me: The Best of the TK Years.) He also co-wrote Madonna's 1985 pop hit, "Material Girl," with Peter Rans.'"

Roland MT-32

via this auction
"This listing is for the Roland MT-32 hard-to-find first generation. The first generation has the best audio-quality and is the least noisiest, as later revisions implemented measures that lowered the dynamics and introduced more noise along with overall lower-quality components.

It is a direct relative to the legendary Roland D-50 synthesizer. It works perfectly, and there are no imperfections of any kind. A standard MIDI cable will also be included. Will take a standard Roland 9v adapter."

MOOG MEMORYMOOG + PLUS with Aftertouch & Velocity

via this auction
"The Legendary MEMORYMOOG PLUS, with ADDED AFTERTOUCH, brought to you out of safe seclusion, nearly as pristine as the day it was manufactured.

The FATTEST, RICHEST MOOG SOUND MADE in a non-modular system. ALL THE CONTROLS AND # OF VCOS OF THE CLASSIC MINIMOOG X 6!

That's right: 3 VCO's per voice, and there are SIX VOICES, 18 VCO's, 12 ADSR Envelope Generators, 6 VCFs, with Program Memory and ANALOG VCO AUTOTUNE (Thank God!) Same controls, same location. Legendary CEM VCO and VCF. And sure, you can make the VCO's "beat" and "roll" with the FINE TUNE vernier control. This is the coveted PLUS version, with refined and updated POWER SUPPLY, MIDI and SEQUENCER.

AND, unlike any other MemoryMoog Plus, this one has AFTERTOUCH (aka Pressure Sensing) and VELOCITY Sensing Keyboard (also available WITHOUT it).

SEE THE PLATE?

THAT'S THE EXTERNAL CONFIRMATION OF THE "PLUS" FUNCTIONS AVAILABLE ON THIS DELUXE MODEL. (INTERNAL MODS ARE ALSO PART OF THE PACKAGE, INCLUDING UPGRADED POWER SUPPLY)."

MINT MAXED MOOG MINIMOOG with Aftertouch

via this auction

"THE REAL THING: The Legendary MINIMOOG, in ABSOLUTELY MINT condition,
fully restored by EME (40 years experience) and functioning perfectly.

WITH AFTERTOUCH AND VELOCITY SENSING ADDED TO THE KEYBOARD!!

MAIN ELECTRONICS UPDATED FOR MORE STABLE VCO'S.

NOW "THE SOUND" WITH THE EXPRESSIVENESS ONLY AN AFTERTOUCH KEYBOARD GIVES.

Even Analog Modeling synths exhibit "zipper noise" in their quantizing an analog phenomenon: the opening and closing of a filter. You'll hear the difference immediately. This thing is ORGANIC next to digital, or MINIMOOG re-creations. And of course that individual-component-style Moog Ladder filter shapes and squeezes each note with that unmistakably MOOG timbre control Thank you so much Bob, wherever you are.

The MINIMOOG had several VCO versions. While they all generate the sound the same way, (so "the sound" is always there no matter which version you use) the earlier versions tended to temperature-sensitive at times, and thus drifted in tuning, requiring constant tweaking during performance. That is what you will likely get on other Minimoogs that show up. SOLUTION: Confirm the VCO's are of the LATEST REV. That's what's shown below, and included and calibrated in the MicroMoog MAX here. These were only available in the very latest MiniMoogs.

EXTERNAL CONTROL INPUTS. 0-10VDC.

The AFTERTOUCH/VELOCITY are routed, with plugs, to these inputs.

WANT EVEN MORE CONTROL? Inquire about the available OPTION 2,
which brings the several other Aftertouch and Velocity controls and outputs
out onto the front or rear panel, as you order.

ACCESSORY POWER SOCKETS. Several external options, like ribbon controller, sequencer, etc. were made available for the MiniMoog and these jacks allow some of them to be powered. Note the 50mA rating."
