Yamaha CS01II Analog Synthesizer Demo

Yamaha CS01II Analog Synthesizer Demo by peahix
"Here's two versions of a little demo track made entirely with my trusty old Yamaha CS01II analog synth. The original is from 1986, played by hand and "multitracked" by dubbing back and forth on my Star Studio boombox [below]. I cleaned up the sound as best I could. I decided to do a remake to see how close i could get to the overall sound of the original. Same synth, but now with CV jacks installed and sequenced with Cubase."

ARP PRO/DGX ANALOG SYNTHESIZER

via this auction
"The Pro/DGX is a thirty preset monophonic analog synthesizer based on the ARP Pro-Soloist. The main difference is that the Pro/DGX had electronic switching (touch buttons) between its preset sounds whereas the older Pro-Soloist had circuit-based switching (rocker switches). It has 30 preset sounds to choose from, including Flute, Bassoon, Brass, Fuzz Guitar etc. Other features included pitch, portamento, vibrato, growl and wow effects. The keyboard has 37 keys with after-touch sensitivity for volume, brilliance, vibrato, wow, growl, and even bend effects. Filter, envelope and LFO controls allow some tweaking of the preset sounds.

TAKEN FROM THE ORIGINAL 1977 ARP ADVERTISEMENT-
“The new Pro has push button digital switching (DGX) that lets you change sounds as fast as you can play the keyboard. Each preset voice has its own LED status light to let you know where you’re at. In addition to the 30 preset sounds on the PRO/DGX, the touch sensor controls to the left of the keyboard let you add musical expression and expand your sound range. Simply by adding extra pressure to the keys, you have total control over brilliance, wow, growl, vibrato, and other musical effects. A portamento footswitch lets you add synthesizer glide without using your hands.”

The Pro was used by Genesis, Santana, Herbie Hancock, Parliament, as well as a long list of others."

Concept Techno #1 - Sine + Noise - Simon Stokes

YouTube Uploaded by siedgey on Mar 5, 2011

"**Please watch in the highest available quality and get that sub turned up - most of this track is down at those frequencies! Although YouTube has ravaged the sound as always.**

Thanks for watching!

It's been ages since my last live video so I thought I would post up a little jam I was playing with for an hour or two today. This is a concept track really - every sound that is in this track is made from with a sine wave or white noise. The track itself is a super-stripped techno track, using 13 parts all playing live on the Virus Ti2 which is being sequenced by Ableton Live.

Some of the parts are brought in and out using the UC-33 controller, and the rest I am just selecting clips in Ableton using the mouse. It's nothing special really - just a techno groove that I was bobbing about to!

As a bit of an update on me, things are going great just now - I've got a lot of gigs these days including a European tour in April / May and also getting the chance to warm up for my hero Alex Under at the Sub Club in Glasgow in April - amazing. If you like my YouTube videos then add me on Facebook (link at the bottom) - it would be great to hear from you. As always, thank you to the YouTube community for your generous words and support over the years - it has been a great help to me and there will be plenty more to come on this channel in the future..

Thanks again for watching and please comment with your thoughts.

Cheers,

Simon"

Mattson Mini Modular New Starter 6-pack Case

via Mattson Mini Modular
"I have a new "starter" case that holds six MMM modules.

It measures 4.5" H X 21-3/4" W X 5" D

I made the depth longer than my standard 3.5" 12 module cabinets in order for them to remain stable when stacked.

They have wood rails that can be removed and replaced if they get stripped out over time. Modules are mounted using a #6 X 1/2" sheet metal screw.

The cases require an external +/-15VDC power supply. ElPac stopped making the wall warts I was using. I found another supply. But, it's a line lump capable of 50Watts. That's enough juice to power up to 36 modules comfortably. Or, six, 6-packs or three of my 12 module standard cabinets.

Because of this, I dropped the price of my cabinets and no longer include the power supply. The supply is $82.00 from Newark with a $20.00 drop ship fee per order. I'm encouraging customers to order them direct from the distributors.

It actually works out, instead of paying $38.00 for one supply per cabinet. The cabinets can be daisy-chained from one supply allowing the initial cost for the supply to be spread out. It ends up being less costly as the system expands. For distributing the DC between cabinets, I've added a DC out DIN connector to the cabinets and offer a DC interconnect cable on my cart in the enclosures section.

The nice part about these supplies is that they can take anywhere from 90 VAC to 240 VAC, 50 or 60 HZ. They're RoHS compliant and the customer can grab whatever AC cord they require for their region when they order them. No more step up or step down transformers.

Distrubutor URLs are listed in my cart but, I do have a few supplies in stock that I carry as a convenience to customers who wish to just have the power supply shipped with their system."

ELEKTRONIKA EM 25

via this auction
"rare Soviet analog polyphonic synthesizer - ELEKTRONIKA EM 25. This auction synth was made in November 1991 by most pupular Soviet brand. "Elektronika" was the so-called brand name for any former Soviet electronic product made in any former Soviet factory more or less involved in the manufacturing of any electronic devices and there were a whole range of electronic products released in Russia (watches, TV sets, amps, speakers, tuners, and more) that used this 'trademark'.

Elektronika EM-25 is a polyphonic synth specialising in strings, organ and brass. Like other such instruments, it has a 'divide-down' variety to give a totally polyphonic generator through a single filter, amp and envelope.

The strings section had mixable contrabass, cello and violins with variable attack and decay and the obligatory chorus unit for the rich ensemble effect.

The organ offered variable footages at 16', 8', 4' and 2' with variable attack and decay whilst the brass section offered trombone and trumpet. Of course, none of these sounds 'realistic' but there are plenty of controls and facilities to coax some sonic mileage out of this trio of sounds.

There is an LFO that could be used to sweep the apparently fiercely resonant, self-oscillating filter and all the sections could be mixed and balanced - even split across the keyboard range - and so, in that respect, the EM-25 was not unlike the Moog Opus, Korg Trident and other such keyboards. To the left was a performance section - "Transposer" with a pitchbend lever that appears to have been lifted directly from Roland's 'bender' design!

As other soviet synths EM 25 has it`s own unique sound. You can get from the synth - warm analog strings, smooth pads, orchestral sounds, fat synthetic brasses and leads, various space fx sounds etc."

LELL UDS - soviet analog 2-chan drum module synth

This module can be triggered by any drum machine use its individual line outputs or play of course with standard velocity drum pads.

It has 2 independent and identical channels with powerfull parameters of synthesis such - GAIN, TONE PITCH, ENV MOD, RELEASE, RESONANCE, ACCENT (CLICK), NOISE HI-LOW, MIX TONE-NOISE, LEVEL etc...

Randgrid synthesizer and drum machine - Retrolink HB

"Winter sale!!!!!
Down from $7.99 to $3.99.

Randgrid is not a toy, Randgrid is an advanced tool for making music. You should be familiar with analog synthesizers and sequencers to understand and get the most out of this app.

Please visit http://www.randgrid.com/ for more informatrion.

The interface of Randgrid is based on classic analog synthesizers, drum machines and step sequencers.

You have a very powerful setup at your fingertips with two monophonic virtual analog subtractive synthesizers and fourteen sampled drum parts.

Note that the synthesizers are real and not based on samples, they are calculated in realtime and every parameter change immediately affects the sound generation.

We dare to say that the drum machine in Randgrid is the most advanced currently available for iPhone/iPod Touch. Use parameter locks to change it's parameters for each step in the pattern (the same goes for the synthesizers of course). This lets you build the most dynamic complex beats you ever could dream of. You can alter parameters like panning, volume, flam, start/stop position of the sample (making it possible to play parts of the samples both forward and reverse), or the amount of delay/echo you want on each step in the pattern.

The advanced step sequencer is the heart of Randgrid, it lets you control virtually every aspect of the drums and synthesizers. Use parameter locks to change cutoff, resonance, envelope modulation, panning and many more parameters of the synthesizers for each step in a pattern.

Some of the great features are:

- 2x dual oscillator subtractive synthesizers
- 14x sampled drums
- stereo delay effect
- distortion effect
- Song sequencer
- Multiple patterns
- File manager
- Solo/mute groups
- Pattern randomizer
- Copy/Paste operations
- Parameter locks

We promise you a long time commitment, where we continue develop and make this application better, please let us know what features you would like to see implemented?
