"PSS-270 FM keyboard is a PSS-170 with Analog Chorus.

Hacked Chorus provides nice Phaser with Oscillators and Distortion.
FM Chip mods are a little different from the usual track-cutting mods - I've used spring-loaded ON/OFF/ON toggle switches, which when flicked rapidly will Generate a new random patch based on a corrupted version of the original preset. It's a much easier method...
Also added a touch-point & Knob for Glitching the Drums and Chord, as well as 4 x data-line switches and 4 x additional Glitch Switches.

Soniccouture Omnichord for Japan Relief

via Soniccouture
"This offer is only available until 30th April 2011 - 100% of all payments taken for the Omnichord instrument will be donated to the Red Cross Japanese Tsunami appeal.

An Omnichord is an electronic musical instrument, introduced in 1981 and manufactured by the Suzuki Musical Instrument Corporation. It typically features a touch plate, and buttons for major, minor, and diminished chords. The most basic method of playing the instrument is to press the chord buttons and swipe the touch plate with a finger or guitar pick in imitation of strumming a stringed instrument.

The Omnichord we have sampled here is a ‘System Two’, and it has a great synth tone, which sounds ‘cheap’ in all the right ways. You can mix two different tones, one straight, and one modulated with a basic LFO. While not sounding much like a plucked string, it does have a pure character all its own, which won it many fans, such as Daniel Lanois and Brian Eno, to name but two.

We’d like to thank UK producer Neil Davidge for the loan of this particular Omnichord unit."

New Catgirl Synth Steiner- Parker VCF

via this auction

"Multimode Analog Filter 5U MOTM Format
Did someone say acid? Sick resonance + Interpolating Scanner effect when the same sound is used on all the filter inputs. Why does every builder make one of these? Because it sounds so nasty!

I origianally built this for use in my modular. This is brand new and and fully tested. This will be the only one I have available so get it while you can.

You won't find a nicer version of this module. Every component is the highest quality available: BTI Conductive Plastic Pots, Switchcraft Jacks, Mil Spec RG-174 Coax on audio signals, Polyester Film Capacitors, etc. Excellent build quality. One mean filter. I am happy to be able to share this module with another synth enthusiast.

Front Panel Controls:
Frequency
Frequency CV Level
Frequency CV Input
Resonanace
High Pass Filter Input
High Pass Filter Level
Band Pass Filter Input
Band Pass FIlter Level
Low Pass Filter Input
Low Pass Filter Level
Output

Here is some additional information about the Steiner VCF from the CGS Website:

"This module is a "tribute" module, based on the awesome Steiner-Parker Synth VCF. Those who know me will know I'm not a big VCF fan. Nonetheless, this VCF really appeals to me. Its sound is quite unlike the Moog ladder, has a lot of character.

Resonance is a bit unusual in its behavior. Once it starts oscillating, the resonance pot needs to be backed off a fair way to get it to stop again. It can also be frequency dependent.

How to use this module:

Connect the CV input to a voltage source such as a keyboard, envelope generator or sequencer. Connect the output to a VCA or amplifier. Feed the signal to be filtered into the high-pass, band-pass or low-pass input.

Unlike the original, this version allows signals to be fed into all inputs simultaneously. If the same signal is used in all inputs, the result is reminiscent of a phaser. The real fun starts when you feed different signals into each input, then you get a frequency based "interpolating scanner", where panning between different sound sources is possible, though also subject to the frequency at which they are running. I have never heard an effect like it before." - Ken Stone"

BSTV: How to Make a Beat With Truckasauras
YouTube Uploaded by BigShotMag on Nov 12, 2010

"Seattle-based lo-fi sound insurrectionists Truckasauras -- Adam Swan, Tyler Swan, Ryan Trudell, and Dan Bordon -- are known for mish-mashing a cornucopia of sights and electronic sounds during their live shows and in the studio. With the release of their electro-fueled second album, Quarters, we asked the band to send us a video tour of their studio. But what we received from these Northwest nutters completely blew our mind. If machines like TR-808, SH-101, Sequential Tom and TB-303 turn you on, and you don't mind seeing snippets of girls wrestling in oil and random explosions between scenes, well, get ready to watch some serious studio hijinks go down Truckasauras style. Wait, is Ryan making a tune with a Game Boy? Hold me, please.

Not your average TR808

"If you examine the right side of my TR808 here you'll notice three inputs and a little switch. "Hmmm..." you are wondering, "what are these for?" Well I'm glad you asked! First of all the little switch there disables (and then re-enables) the built in reverb on the clap. You'll always hear a bit of reverb on a regular 808's clap, however when turned off with a modification like this it can sound quite interesting, mainly because we're so used to the reverb on it probably."

57 258v Dual Oscillator Scoped

YouTube Uploaded by 7thDanSound on Mar 28, 2011

"I just borrowed a Mark Verbos Buchla format 258v Dual Oscillator module. I put it in my boat and this is my very first encounter with it. I have no idea what to expect or how it is supposed to work apart from the obvious. That's why I mistake the gray jack for a voltage output and try to drive the waveform input with it. This little thing sounds absolutely lovely and I'm sure it would complement the current Buchla 200e offerings very nicely. Definitely a more classic analog tone to it which I presume is due to the fact that it actually is very much analog."

Adam Szabo JP6K

"JP6K is a synth dedicated to emulating the famous Super Saw sound, first found in the Roland JP-8000 synthesizer in 1997. It aims to capture the essence of the sound and the behaviour of the original oscillator. Even after a decade, the Super Saw is still sought after by people all around the world, and is a crucial part of such music genres like Trance.

There are several factors that make the Super Saw in the JP6K different than other synths that provide a similar sound. The original Super Saw from Roland was aliasing, thus creating a bright and “airy” sound. To prevent the sound from sounding harsh below the fundamental harmonic, a high pass filter was possibly used to remove the unwanted frequencies. The JP6K uses the same design to achieve that special oscillator waveform giving it a unique tone.

Another important aspect of the classic Super Saw, was its special detune curve. It was non-linear, which gave the user greater control over the detune amount. Even when the detune control was half way, the spread of the detune was small, which made it possible to make very smooth sounding pads. The curve then gradually increased, and at higher values, the detune rapidly spread out to maximum. This unique curve is accurately modelled in JP6K, making it nearly identical to the detune in the hardware.

The JP6K also emulates other features from the JP-8000 like the filters, key tracking and the EQ, to give it an even more authentic way to shape the Super Saw sound. The synth has been optimised to use minimal amount of CPU, so it is possible to use multiple instances.

Key features:
32 voice polyphony
Two Super Saw oscillators, an upper and lower
1 noise oscillator
Three filter modes: low pass, band pass and high pass with -12 & -24 dB/Oct
Three independent LFOs controlling the filter, amp and pitch
Built in delay and EQ"
