[cubisteffects] CMOS Mini-Synthesizer for Sound Summit 2011

YouTube Uploaded by cubisteffects on Sep 12, 2011

"This is a video of the CMOS Mini-Synth I will be showing workshoppers how to make at Sound Summit 2011.
Sound Summit is a weekend festival that celebrates a wide range of innovative and independent music from Australia and beyond. It features talks, panels, lots of live shows and workshops, where the making of the mini-synth is one.
The mini-synth features a CMOS chip - an easy-to-find and cheap IC from most electronics suppliers. The mini-synth features dual square wave oscillators with a pulse LFO to modulate the blended output. The result is a droning, gating, harmonic bass synth that sounds a lot bigger than it looks.
The workshop is suited for beginners and will go through basic electronics and skills, hopefully with all attending leaving with a drone monster. For a higher quality audio clip, go to http://soundcloud.com/cubisteffects/cubisteffects-cmos-mini

Vintage Dubreq Pianomate Polyphonic Analog Synthesizer & Amp Synth

Note: Auction links are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.

via this auction

"OVERVIEW: The Pianomate consists of 2 'tonebars' (one bass one treble) that sit on top of the keys of a piano or full sized keyboard. When a key on the piano is pressed, a small plunger on the tonebar drops, triggering that note to play through the Pianomate's amp. Release the piano key and the plunger is pushed back up, ending that note. It's really quite simple.

AMP: All of the sound controls are located on the top of the Pianomate's amplifier. A 3-way rocker switch controls the 'Balance'. (bass, both, treble) Another 3-way rocker selects the 'Voice'. (french accordion, organ/flute,jazz buzz) To the right of that are two volume knobs. (Pianomate vol., Mic vol.) Further to the right is another 3-way switch which controls vibrato. Between the two volume knobs is access to a small trim pot which allows fine tuning of vibrato speed. The front of the amp has an output jack, mic input jack, pedal vol. jack, a small tuning adjuster, thumb-screw access to the amps fuse, and a lighted on/off switch.

PEDAL: The swell/volume pedal connects to the pedal vol. jack on the front of the amp. It does what it says, controls the volume of the Pianomate.

This auction includes the Pianomate Amplifier, Two 'Tonebars', the volume pedal, and all cables. I do not have a manual, sorry.

The two tonebars and the foot pedal store neatly in the back of the amp. Also, fine tuning the Pianomate is easy. Just remove the handle assembly and you'll find a bank of small trim pots. Each pot controls the pitch of 3 plungers. For example, the first trimmer will tune the C, C#, and D notes of the bass tone bar...

MORE INFO: Made in England, but it's on American (110/120) voltage. The amp is 10 watts. Serial Number is 657. A tag deep inside the amplifier dated the manufacture year as 1972."

Ultra RARE SEIKO DS-202 Keyboards Synthesizer with DS-310 & DS-320

via this auction
"This thing is as mysterious as it is rare. Much talked about and seldom seen and never offered on E-bay because of its rare-ity. You can see this on YouTube and a host of other websites. Not a lot of them made to begin with and not a whole lot of them sold in the U.S. of A. These have a small cult following for some reason. That reason being that these are so crazy and complicated and a lot of fun. The gadgets alone will keep you occupied for hours. These were made in Japan for Seiko so you know they have quality electronics. This has been in my basement for over 10 years untouched, i plugged it in and everything works like the day i bought it. Yes i am the original owner of this beauty. The wife wanted it back when so i bought it for her and i remember it cost over 1000 dollars. I guess i had more money back then. I cant remember when i bought it but i believe it was the late 80's ?..." via Joel

Beepcat Beagleboard-based Synth Demonstration 1

YouTube Uploaded by Cranda11 on Sep 16, 2011

"This is a quick demon of the Beepcat open hardware/software shield concept for Beagleboard. This is a demonstration of the software backbone only. The Akai MPKmini is set up to send specific commands that duplicate the front panel setup of a theoretical Beepcat (eight buttons, eight encoders.) The Beepcat monosynth software is creating the synth sound. The drums are coming from Audio Damage Tattoo."

Folktek "Bug" synthesizer

via this auction
"The Bug By Ben Houston .

This custom piece is part of a folktek series entitled "philanthropoid"". Known simply as the Bug series. Also in the series on the site and around the world is the Mantis, dronescape sequencer, the book of sound, the moth, the growling insect, the bug, the octa-hedra, walking stick, pendulum translator and others. The sound is phenomenol and continues to amaze us. It is a sonic symphony of nasty and grimy sweetness, endless layers of sound possibilities emenating from High quality OSC originally based on high tech speech synthesis. Seemingly random bits can be rediscovered time and time again and then there are those moments that you will most likely never rediscover. Endlessly captivating, this piece WILL provide sounds that you will not find in other synthesizers and will astonish you every time you turn it on.

This particular piece features four patchable knobs, and a twelve point magnetic patchbay. This allows you to determine function and provides tons of flexibility. In addition, two more knobs (global knob control and power kill) , glowing lamp power indicator , 2 folktek button/switches for activate and freeze mode sections, reset, 1/4" output, basic manual of function and layout. You'll be able to cipher through waveforms and textures with extreme sensitivity in thousands of ways. Waveforms (individual, or multiple layers) can be captured and maintained, often intermodulating in beautiful and/or disturbing ways. Super sensitive knobs let you filter through tons of sounds and glitchscapes. Housed in antique oak finger jointed hardwood box. Albums are waiting to be created here as the sound is quite different from anything else you'll find.."

Korg Mono Poly Analogue Synthesizer

via this auction

"This is a really flexible and creative synth with a lot of sonic potential and some nice extras (fantastic arpeggiator, funky effects section) which make it a gem of a monosynth.

It has 4 VCO's which can be shared in 4-voice Polyphonic mode, or linked in Unison for versatile monophonic leads, which is its real strength. It has a unique share mode where it will destack the oscillators the more keys are pressed. Each VCO has its own level, 4 octave pitch, tune, and waveform type control. Waveforms include triangle, sawtooth, pulse width & PWM settings. There are separate controls for PWM intensity and PW width and the PWM can be modulated by either of the two LFOs or the filter envelope.

It has a great VCF filter section with its own envelope generator and lots of sonic flexibility with controls for cutoff, resonance, envelope intensity (positive or negative envelope) and keyboard track.

VCA section features its own full envelope control.

There are also 2 individual LFO's which can be used to modulate the oscillator Pulse Width, frequency, pitch, the filter and Arpeggiator independently.

Other cool tricks up its sleeve include chord memory and an onboard effects section in which the oscillators have a variety of ways to be synced and cross modulated and frequency modulated (via LFO or filter envelope).

The built-in arpeggiator is very flexible and a real creative tool: can run all 4 VCO's at a time or cycle through each voice (with independent tuning/waveform settings) per note!

There's also portamento, CV/Gate, VCF and VCO mod inputs, arp trigger, white noise generator, and the two pitch/mod wheels can be assigned to control different LFO destinations, the pitch osc 1 or the filter."

生身かそうでないかはご想像にお任せします。。(´ヘ`;)

(最後の方でノイズが入ってますが、これはがくぽのノイズです。

Append the main vocalist Miku Hatsune (Light), etc. calyx ish back (left), VY2 (right).
Temashita original song is sung in sonorous male voice, singing in the light where I have dared in the light.
In addition, the sound is only KORG M01, is about I put a little reverb on Cubae.

... This picture was utmost. In the middle of the bread that striped tiger stripes and Miku.
A living or not is entirely up to your imagination. . ('He';)

The amount in ぽ is somewhat like riding a strange noise ... is a mystery now. . )"
