"Watch the end! The end is the sound effects bank. Which is awesome. I have owned a few Polysix's in my time and this one takes the cake by far. These patches are awesome. This polysix also has midi in installed AND I have the instructions on how to actually use it. It also has a new battery, most of the IC chips have been taken out, and put into a new board with IC sockets."

"This Korg Polysix has been to the Czech Republic twice for modification to be performed. The first time it was sent out, the battery was replaced, the polysix was recalibrated, and all of the ORIGINAL IC chips were taken out, tested, and reinstalled in serviceable sockets. This makes swapping out bad chips in the future VERY easy with no soldering involved and no risk of damaging the board. The second time this Polysix was sent to the Czech Republic, a Midi In kit was installed and all of the original factory presets were installed in the machine. Take a look at my video of this synthesizer to hear the factory sounds. I'm pretty sure you will be amazed at how awesome and varied the sounds are in the presets."

Source is 3 sawtooth waves from the ARP 2600. Pittsburgh Modular VILFO and Timetable as clock and clock divider. Bottom horizontal row of the Tiptop Audio Z8000 is the sequencer for pitch to the ARP. First is manual sweeps of tuning, resonance and overdrive. Then adding in sample and hold from the Doepfer A-148 to filter tuning CV in. The trick for me is an attenuator for dialing in just the right amount of CV. Our kitty Lao (or Boyfriend as he is known) makes his very first video appearance!

"The Pittsburgh Modular Timetable finally in my system!
The low kick like tone derived from the 2 output of the left/well behaved side. 2 badly behaved voices from the right B an C outputs. External switching of "mode" from the PittMod VILFO and internal feedback effecting "flip" (I think) This thing is crazy fun and has a million awesome little quirks for decades of rhythmic and random fun. Percussive voices made from ARP 2600, Z300, uLFO, QMMG and A-143-1.

A simple one bar pattern is looped for 4 minutes and messed around with in the 16 beats (pattern play) mode. This mode allows you to select between 16 different drum beats, apply effects and change settings to all drum sounds simultaneously.

The beat has been purposely stripped down so that you can see exactly what is happening and hear how the effects alter this drum machine's basic tonal qualities using the filters and amp envelope generator.

But really, the aim was just to program the Home Computer rhythm and have a play.

ROLAND JUNO-60 Analog Synthesizer 1982 | HQ DEMO

YouTube Uploaded by AnalogAudio1 on Nov 17, 2011
Update: video re-uploaded due to technical problems.

"The Roland Juno-60 is a classic six voice polyphonic analog synthesizer with 56 patch memory for your sounds. Although the sound architecture is rather basic, it has an excellent analogue sound. The Juno-60 can produce great basses / sequences with its fast envelopes. It can also produce warm smooth pads with its excellent filters.

The Juno-60 was used by many professionals like Eurythmics, Howard Jones, the Madonna producers, Paul Van Dyk and many more... it has the DCB interface - the predecessor of MIDI. With a DCB to MIDI interface it is very easy to integrate the instrument in a midi setup.

To my ears the JUNO-60 sounds far better than the very similar JUNO-106 (I had both). The Juno-60 has snappier envelopes and a fater chorus. The difference is clearly notable. IMO the Juno-60 ist the best sounding Juno. But all Junos can sound great... Please note, I am talking about the original Juno series from the eighties.

I played the JUNO-60 without any additional FX or EQ (except the intro music - this is a multi track recording). Excuse the slight distortion in the first minute.

THE SOUND PROGRAMS IN THIS MOVIE:

Do you have a Juno-60 and want to play with the sounds heard in the video? You can buy the "ANALOGAUDIO1 PATCH BANK" (56 sounds) for 12,99 Euros.
After payment through PayPal you will get a MP3 with sound data for the tape interface of your Juno-60 via email.
The details about the functionality of the tape interface are described in the manual of the Juno-60, which you can download for free.

The patchbank will NOT work with the Juno-106, because this one has a different data format.

If you want to buy the "ANALOGAUDIO1 PATCHBANK", please drop me a mail [on YouTube]."

Keith McMillan QuNeo Multi-Touch Open Source Controller

On Kickstarter

"QuNeo is a different species of pad controller for electronic musicians, DJs, VJs and DIY hackers. While it covers all of the functionality of other pad controllers, QuNeo adds the power of touch recognition in other dimensions.

Tactile Pads, Sliders, Rotary Sensors and Switches

Each of the 27 pads, sliders and rotary sensors are pressure, velocity, and location sensitive. Even the 17 switches respond to how hard you press.

LED Light Feedback

A remarkable lumination scheme combines variably diffusive elastomers with 251 multi-color LEDs providing visual feedback that is immediately responsive and delightfully informative. Man and machine are coupled through light, feel and sound.

Trigger Pads

16 square pads provide 127 levels of Velocity response. And X-Y location. And continuous pressure. For each pad. Times sixteen.

Rotary Surfaces

2 rotary surfaces allow you to scrub, trigger, stretch, pinch and play phrases and sound files, manipulate continuous controllers and more . Each rotary sensor measures angle, pressure and distance from the center.

Multi-touch Sliders

9 touch sensitive sliders can be mapped to fader and effects controls. LEDs within each slider act as VU meters or remind you where you were. Multi-touch lets you select a length between two fingers to set stereo locations or filter resonances. Tapping a slider can mute or toggle any track or function.

Switches

The switches are located in smart groupings to select samples, fader banks, and transport controls. Each of the switches can scan up and down through files at speeds variable with your touch. Great for quickly locating that perfect fill or telling your looper you really meant it.

The Size of an iPad.

QuNeo is the size of an iPad and can fit in iPad accessories such as mic clips, stands and more.

Class Compliant and Open Source Development Kit

QuNeo works with USB, MIDI or OSC and will communicate with your favorite music software environments right out of the box. More advanced users and programmers can use the development kit and API to create their own code to respond to QuNeo's sensor data. Hack away to control your world in ways never before possible!

We are asking for your support on KickStarter to put QuNeo into production.

QuNeo is fully designed and prototyped and will perfectly compliment SoftStep and 12 Step, our innovative foot controllers currently on the market. We are reaching out to you on Kickstarter to raise the funds for tooling and production to make QuNeo available ASAP. As a thank you for your support, we will happily send you one of our wonderful rewards, including this limited edition sticker."

ELSITA - Vintage Soviet 4 Channel Analog Drum Synthesizer

via this auction
"It was manufacture in November 1990 by well known soviet music instruments factory 'RMIF'.

Serial number of the unit - 6934.

Elsita has 4 identical channels of analog drum synthesis with Tone and Noise section on each channel and balance between them. The synth also has metronom that can be assign to 1,2 channels. The channels can work in two switchable modes - 1,2 / 1+2 and 3,4 / 3+4, so you can link 1+2 and 3+4 channels and trigger them from one signal. This can be useful if you need some multiple drum sound. The drum synth can be triggered from drum pads or from any audio source - Line Outs of the drum machine or soundcard etc. if you want to program it from sequencer.

Elsita can produce cool analog drum sounds with its own character from fat bass drums to noisy hi-hats.

This auction drum synth was fully serviced and in great working condition. The pots works without any noise on moving, all synth parameters 100% works as it should.

Trigger Inputs and Line Out changed from 5Din to a standart 1/4 mono Jack connectors, Phone Out changed on 1/4 stereo Jack.

Sequential Circuits Prophet 5 Rev 3 Fire Victim

via this auction

"Here is a Prophet 5 which was the victim of a fire in our studio. Though the flames never touched the synth, the room got hot enough to warp the last octave of keys as can be seen in the pics. This causes a few of the keys to stick when playing through the keyboard. Another result is that the P5 will shut down sometimes for no apparent reason. Maybe something overheats? Not sure. We have been able sometimes to keep it on for days, and other times it only lasts an hour or so. The led readout sometimes flickers off, but a tap on the panel brings it back. Once the unit shuts down, restarting brings it right back, and the memory contents survive. The key contacts probably need cleaning after the smoke, but we used the midi, which seems to be working fine. The panel is pretty darn clean, though the wood could use some oil or stain since the heat dried it out. Serial #4931."
