korg kaossilator pro advanced arpeggios demo

YouTube Uploaded by bowmoneydrums on Nov 18, 2011

"you can get some really great arpeggios on the kpro by simply using an odd time signature over a straight beat. Here I use a normal breakbeat, then use a side chained synth chord, but with the .75 arp speed. i use the same arp with the original breakbeat to add a really great pocket to the beat that nicely coincides with the synth chords, since they are using the same arp. lots more videos on my channel."

Teenage Engineering OP-1: 18 November

YouTube Uploaded by mastertonberry on Nov 18, 2011

"Decided to try and sit down and actually create a full song on the OP-1 for once. The result is... OK. I had fun while making it at least! I tried to listen to other music and narrow down how they are composed, for example how long an intro is and where the drum kicks in and how the sounds repeat in a certain way etc. Song is in 140 bpm. All 4 tracks are used to various degree. The pattern for the synths are really really simple but they make a nice effect together. The whole song have the Spring FX on it which I like but I really should use the effect on different sounds instead. Everything you hear is directly from the output of the OP-1."

Roland SH 2 Synthesizer

via this auction
"The SH-2 is a compact, dual-oscillator synthesizer - with fantastic build quality and with features that in its day (1978) allowed it to surpass the capabilities of many larger, more expensive synthesizers.

Oscillators:
The VCO section (2 oscillators) feature multiple waveforms, including: sine, sawtooth, noise square waves and a variable pulse-width (PWM) with both LFO and envelope modulation options. Each oscillator features a 5-octave range and, whilst sharing a master tuning control, VCO2 can be detuned from VCO1 which just massively thickens up the sound.

A square wave Sub-Oscillator produces a tone one octave below VCO1, putting three thick analog oscillators through the internal audio mixer.

Both the VCOs and the Sub-Oscillator can be modulated by Autobend, the LFO which features square, delayed sine wave and 'random' (S&H) waves and of course, manual pitchbend. On the subject of pitchbend, the effect of the pitchbend lever can be switched off on VCO1 and therefore bend only VCO2. Additionally, the effective range of the pitchbend is totally adjustable. this means you can set the pitchbend range to a fifth, and detune only one oscillator.

Filter:
The VCF section of the SH-2 is a 24 dB/octave Low Pass Filter with adjustable resonance, which can be kicked into self-oscillation. The VCF section features include positive and inverted envelope, an envelope follower for the external audio input, three LFO modulation options, adjustable keyboard tracking and of course, fully variable control via the bender section.

VCA:
The VCA section controls the volume via the envelope generator, directly from the keyboard gate signal, or can be left fully open via a 'hold' switch. The ADSR envelope can be triggered by the keyboard, gate signal, both, or the LFO.

LFO:
The LFO offers sine waves with or without delay (great for delayed vibrato on lead lines and string patches), square waves, sample and hold for randomness and a separate non-delayed sine wave for the pulse-width modulation. The LFO speed is of course, fully adjustable."

iSynth iPad Synthesizer Review

YouTube Uploaded by ipadloops on Nov 18, 2011

"This is my review for iSynth Version 1.0 - iSynth (not to be confused with the iPhone photo editing app) is a virtual monophonic analog-synthesizer for your iPad. iSynth is designed and optimized for live performances. So far NOT my favorite synth. This is version 1 and there is no support for CoreMidi. The key selling point to this synth is the fact that you can stream the audio from it to an AirPlay device. I do not have an AirPlay amplification system so I could not test this feature. Other than that it's pretty much your basic monophonic dual oscillator synth for the iPad. I did not like how the knobs behaved. They were difficult to control. I also did not like the fact that this synth can not be flipped horizontally. I use an Alesis iO Dock and it is designed to be used horizontally. I also noticed clicking in one preset."

Beep Poet 2 - Home made noise maker in a can

YouTube Uploaded by ChrisLody on Nov 17, 2011

"The Beep Poet 2 is available from Etsy in USD http://www.etsy.com/shop/SymetriColour and Folksy in GBP http://www.folksy.com/shops/ChrisDodsworthDesign

The first half of this video shows the Beep Poet 2 connected via its 1/4" jack and the second half shows it playing through its internal speaker.

The Beep Poet 2 is a battery powered noise maker in a can. Its great for making sound effects and silly noises.

It is controlled by 4 knobs, and 2 switches.

It has 2 oscillators (Red and Green knobs). Osc 1 produces audio frequency ranges whilst osc 2 produces LFO and audio frequencies which is great for extreme effects.

Osc 1 goes to the output through a simple passive filter (Yellow knob)

Osc 2 can modulate the pitch of osc 1 by the amount set by the blue knob or gate its volume when the modulation switch is turned on.

There is a switch to trigger the unit which can be locked in place by pushing it one way or give a momentary action by pushing it the other.

The knobs all go backward. This is because I'm using logarithmic knobs which make the oscillators easier to control when wired up the wrong way round.

The Beep Poet 2 has a small loudspeaker to produce sound but can also be plugged into external equipment via a 1/4" socket on the base of the unit.

The Beep Poet 2 is powered by a single 9v battery (not supplied) which can be installed by removing the nut around the 1/4" socket and removing the base.

Its mounted in a recycled tin can. It is also supplied with an instruction CDR."

Blue Lantern NOISE GENERATOR AND WAVE FOLDER

See the seller's other items for more.

"Introducing the next lineup of module to get the Pro Panel treatment. It is the tried and true Analog Noise Generator, but the design was so slick I was able to fit a Lock Hart Wave Folder & Gate to Trigger converter. The entire back PCB area is less then 2" (1.5") in depth. It is made with SMT parts.

This is for Euro Format Modular Synth Cases. The user is to install this module themselves using a IDC cable which is included.

THE UNIT COMES WITH A 10 PIN TO 16 PIN IDC CABLE.
POWER SPECS: PLEASE READ THIS AND YOU SHALL NOT BE SORRY! THE MODULE CONFORMS TO THE NEWER DOEPFER POWER LAYOUT SCHEME. ON MY MODULES RED LINE IS (-12V) AND STARTS AT THE TOP.
THE SEQUENCE IS -12V/GND/GND/GND/+12V. SO +12V IS AT THE BOTTOM ON MY MODULES. ALL I DID WAS ROTATE THE DOEPFER STANDARD. THE MODULES COME SHIPPED WITH THE CABLE CONNECTED CORRECTLY. ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS CONNECT THE RED STRIP TO YOUR -12V END ON YOUR CASE WHICH IF IT FOLLOWS MOST WILL BE AT THE BOTTOM. THERE IS A SILKSCREEN ON THE MODULE TO SEE THE LAYOUT ON THE HEADER ALSO.

THERE ARE SAFETY PTC RESETTABLE FUSES INSTALL ON THE MODULE THAT WILL OPEN THE CIRCUIT IF CONNECTED WRONG. BUT IT IS GOOD PRACTICE TO JUST READ DIRECTIONS. FEEL FREE TO EMAIL ME IF YOU JUST ARE NOT SURE HOW TO CONNECT THE MODULE TO THE EURO CASE FORMAT POWER STRIP.

MODULE
SPECS:
Width--4HP
Circuit 1: NOISE GENERATOR: White Noise, High Pass White Noise, Low Pass White Noise, Red Noise. There is a Trimmer on the PCB that will adjust the Loudness of the core Noise generator. 100% Analog. ALL OUTPUTS.
Circuit 2: Lock Hart Wave Folder: There is (1) Input, (1) Double Pulse Output, (1) Folded Output. In order to control the actual folding, an Attenuator is needed right before the Input Chain in your Patching. Sine or Triangle Waves work best here, but you are free to Experiment.
Circuit 3: Gate to Trigger Converter. This will make a Gate into a short Pulse. Useful for triggering Drum Synths. Again you can also experiment with feeding in slow LFO wave forms and hearing the Audio Result.

All that in 4HP!"

Blue Lantern Midi 2 CV Module

via this auction
See the seller's other items for more.

"Here is a pimped out Midi 2 CV Blue Lantern Module. All in Blue scheme. The Panel was made from Front Panel Exress. It is 6hp wide. This is fresh off the Soldering Iron. I made this Nov. 17, 2011.
This is the only one like this I have, so if your a collector I would not miss out on this.

There is a Diffused Blue LED for Midi Activity, I added a Dope LED Lens so that it would not blind you like typical Blue Led's.

This midi converter does the job of interfacing your DAW and Midi Keyboard.

This is a very feature rich Midi Converter.

The LED on the bottom lets you know when Midi Note messages are coming in.

INPUTS: DIN MIDI

OUTS: (2) PITCH 1v/Oct CV OUTS, (2) GATE 5v OUT, (1) TRIGGER OUT, (1) Accented 5v Out, (1) CV CC#100 , and (1) SLIDE OUT 5v

There is an on board Portamento/glide hard wired to both Pitch CV outs. To disable it you turn the knob fully Counter Clockwise.

There is a DIP switch on the PCB so that you can change the Midi CHannel incase you have other Midi 2 CV's. By Default I ship out with Channel #1 as the setting (Which is all switches off)."
