"I busted out the MC 303 again this week and threw in the KO1 for kicks. As I was messing around I found some cool effects built into the Zoom H4 which I'm using as an audio i/o. So that's where the filter/wah is coming from.

Working with the MC 303 is a pain but it produces some interesting sounds when you coax it enough.

Sketch Synth 3D for iPad Now Available

video previously posted here
"Sketch Synth 3D gives you a completely new way of turning short sketches into sound loops. To draw sounds in 3D you can use a touchpad, accelerometers and automated envelopes. This gives you maximum control over the shapes that your sounds take on. Standard XY Pads can give you some extra control over parameters; but Sketch Synth 3D lets you add in that third dimension that can really let you smooth out and add shape to a sound.

You can either use Sketch Synth's sound engine to apply effects to samples (including wav files of your own as of the next release: version 1.0.1), or you can use it to output OSC or Midi to your existing synths.

Sketch Synth can take input from a variety of devices using it's OSC input, one Sketch Synth running on an iPad can control another Sketch Synth running on you main computer."

noiZe vieW Online Video Bhudda Machine

via Peter
"A new Buddha Machine was started today: noise-view.bplaced.net. It's a system which plays small youtube videos with recorded 'noize' sessions in a randomized selfplaying way."

In short, you load the page in your browser and a number of YouTube videos load and begin playing. It's not random and there is a bit of code behind it. It's based on Tikirobot.

"Tikirobot has published the source under the AGPL version 3 licence, so it was possible to make a derivative work of their Buddha machine. To make this noize Buddha machine I changed a lot of code, added some new features for easier configuration, multiple videos in one tile and I added some code to set minimum and maximum volume of each video."

You can check out noiZe vieW at noise-view.bplaced.net

Crafting Physynth

Simian has a post up on developing Physynth. The following is just an excerpt so be sure to check out the full post.

"Physynth was a wonderful project to work on, it was a completely original idea and outside the realms of anything any of us had done before.

Our previous experience was rooted heavily in games development so approaching an ‘app’ was naturally challenging. Coming from this entertainment background did however give us the opportunity to imbue Physynth with a different sort of user-experience. Most apps, we believe, feel very utilitarian for no good reason, we decided early on that Physynth had to be beautiful.

Having been designed by the musician of the team, he already had a good few ideas for the actual physical appearance of the device, we looked at a lot of real-world hardware during the research and development phase and Moog was something we kept coming back to. We decided fairly early on that Physynth needed to feel like you’d just found it in your dad’s garage, a real bit of vintage 70’s synth equipment..."

Metasonix R-60 MIDI/CV Interface

via this auction

"Unlike all the other MIDI/CV converters on the market, the R-60 tunes and scales itself. Plug the CV output into the CV input of your VCO, and plug the VCO output (square or pulse waves are best) into the audio input of the R-60. Push the LEARN button. That's all. It automatically sets itself up to control that VCO over the maximum possible range, in perfect equal tempering. The R-60 doesn't care what the CV response of the VCO is - exponential, Hz/V, whatever - it will try to tune it to equal tempering anyway..."

YouTube Uploaded by AudiotoolTutorials on Dec 16, 2011

"Out now in the Android Market: https://market.android.com/details?id=de.despudelskern.application.audiotools...

Audiotool Sketch allows you to sequence sounds using emulations of three different classic devices. Make some beats with one of the drum machines and then move onto the bassline. Once you have finished building your sequences navigate to the overview and start switching up the patterns, add some delay or change the tempo, all in real time.

Each device includes the full range of parameters which would have been found on the original machines, this coupled with the multi-touch functionality makes it possible for the user to really control each device's output signal. Audiotool Sketch is built around the same audio engine as Audiotool and outputs full power audio."

NonLinear Circuits' bindubba 1 & bindubba 3 sequencers

YouTube Uploaded by DJjondent on Dec 16, 2011

"First test run of NonLinear Circuits' bindubba1 & bindubba3 sequencers.
Made in the modular style of Serge.

Clock pulse supplied by a Roland CompuRhythm CR-68 Drum machine.
The two sequencers can operate independently of each other
but I have synchronised them to the same clock signal.

bindubba1
This is a 4 stage sequencer with 16 control voltage outputs (CV) and 8 gate outputs.
I'm guessing its a binary counter.
bindubba1 is sequencing a Doepfer A110 VCO... its Pulse & square waves fed into a A110 ring modulator.

bindubba3
Has 16 stages, requires two clock signals & has gate outputs for each stage.
One clock controls horizontal travel, the other controls vertical travel.

This sequencer is driving a Doepfer A110 VCO... its square wave fed into a A120 low pass filter.

Thanks to Andrew of NonLinear Circuits (Western Australia).

http://www.sdiy.org/pinky/

I'm used to playing the more common East coast style (moog, ARP) of Synthesizer.
This is my first experence with a West coast (Serge,Buchla) style synth.

I like!

More panels to come."

Basicly this track should be only a basic track for a new song, but when i listen and listen and listen i always think that's well as it is for deep relaxion. Maybe only a few of you will view the whole clip without falling asleep ;)
Thr Dense Forest is an experimental instrument which i got via etsy.com. I connected it only to the Jomox T-Resonator which is running in a self-oszillating status. That's all. Only the later starting noise comes from my A-100 System."
