Paia Theremax
via this auction
via the listing:
"This is the most advanced Theremin ever created. The original circuitry has been greatly enhanced in every way known. It has been fitted with every possible refinement and feature. It goes FAR BEYOND any other instrument and is truly suitable for the connoisseur player. This is the Stradivarius of Theremins, incorporating all of the Parenteau Mods, and much much more.
As you know, Clara Rockmore became the ultimate virtuoso of the instrument, provided for her by Lev Theremin after a car accident took her concert violinist abilities. She stunned national audiences with performances with national symphony orchestras and her other-worldly stance while playing. While it was certainly theatrical, it was also necessary as the instrument is sensitive to even the slightest movement of limbs or body. It takes precision finger control to truly play this instrument. In photo above, we pay homage to Clara and Tev.
The PAIA Theramax is an electronic Theremin kit that offers several substantial improvements and increased versatility over any other Theremin that has ever existed. Nonetheless, various virtuosi have made many modifications and refinements in its design. THIS ULTIMATE THEREMIN incorporates all of those refinements, and then some.
For starters, while the VOICE of this instrument is variable from smooth to aggressive with the TIMBRE control, the original design lacked the individualistic "warmth" of the antique RCA Theremins that established the instrument as a viable addition to a symphony orchestra and as stunning accompaniment to voice. Here, the engineer with over 40 years experience designing and constructing Theremins, has added, via a switch, the choice between the CLASSIC RCA of yesteryear, and the more modern timbre range as heard on recordings in the past few decades.
Another addition: CUE OUTPUT JACK for use with headphones to properly determine pitch, prior to final output.
The adjacent switch allows this jack to also be used as an AUXILIARY INPUT that bypasses the internal voice, allowing you to replace it with the sound of anything you input.
OTHER FEATURES:
Control Voltage Outputs proportional to Volume and Pitch for control of any CV - based electronic instrument. Yes, it is possible to control MIDI signals from CV signals. If you're into that, you're welcome to inquire.
There are also EASY ACCESS FINE TRIMS on VOLUME and PITCH.
An attenuator on the CV voltage output and a jack for a MUTE footswitch (optional).
The VELOCITY SENSING aspect of this Theremin is unique. A CV (control voltage) proportional to HOW FAST YOU MOVE is available. This can be used in external signal processing for even more sensitive nuances on the final sound.
But we didn't stop there: Note the central switch. It allows conventional Voltage-Follows-Velocity or a Fixed Output, until your Velocity Changes!"

"Here is one of my designs that I based off of a magnetic pendulum toy. The toy consisted of a dangling string with a magnet on the end of it; then it hovered over magnets on a table that either repelled or attracted the string magnet; the stringed magnet then maneuvers around in crazy patterns due to the position of the table magnets.
There are 2 control voltage outputs for this device; one for the X axis, and one for the Y. They vary from 0 to 5 volts. These can be used to change any parameter in a synthesizer or effects system to make interesting sounds..."

You can hover over the photo to see what the gear is. I make rules for myself when it comes to gear position. 1) I try to have all keys and controls within reach. 2) modulars are positioned where hanging cables will not get in the way of using other equipment. 3) equipment is not blocked by other equipment (this is the most challenging rule) 4) Everything is plugged into power strips and regulated through a SU700 UPS; though anything CAN be turned on, I try to keep the power load down by only turning on the equipment that I will use for the task at hand. I have a homemade DIN sync multiple connecting the MC-202, TR-808, TR-606, Mini Doc, XOXOX, and an MSQ-700 (usually for the Jupiter DCB, but can be switched to MIDI)"

ROLAND MSQ-100 SEQUENCER / MIDI TO DIN CONVERTER x 2
via this auction
"The MSQ-100 has both MIDI and DIN, so these days it is mainly used as a MIDI to DIN converter. Having MIDI IN, OUT and THRU, as well as DIN Sync IN and OUT, it is very versatile for MIDI to DIN conversion. You can use it to sync DIN instruments like the TR-606, TR-808, and TB-303 to MIDI gear. The great thing about the MSQ-100 is that unlike other units with both MIDI and DIN (like the TR-707) it can be slaved to a MIDI device and then convert the MIDI signal to DIN, whereas other machines like the 707 must be the Master in order to sync MIDI to DIN: when the 707 is slaved to another device, it will not transmit a DIN signal. Therefore, the MSQ-100 is one of the only affordable devices that can be slaved AND transmit DIN at the same time. This comes in handy when you have MIDI device that can only act as a Master."

MiniMoog Voyager XL - Distorted Reality - By Andy Barrow
YouTube Uploaded by MrRidgebackman on Feb 19, 2012
"Hi everyone, this piece of music hopefully highlights how versatile the Minimoog Voyager XL is in creating sound and indeed the ability to be used as a single instrument in a Home Studio (or Professional Studio). The concept of this piece was to use just the Moog and use the usual processing features most people use these days, Echo, Reverb and Chorus. The Piece of music is a follow on from the previous two videos, featuring Digital and Analogue Modeling technology. Here I am using 100% analogue.
Probably best under a decent pair of Headphones - or big speakers!!!!
So, part 3 of a series of music featuring Analogue, Digital and a mix of the two. Here I use just the Minimoog Voyager XL and some weather samples recorded onto my iPhone 4s and loaded into Logic Pro 9. Video footage is once again the Minimoog Voyager XL, just moments of being unpacked and drooled over. If I had the money, I would buy a number of these and the RME's and moogerfoogers, the closest I will get to being Modular!!!!
I hope you enjoy this track. I have designs on adding to this already, so I may upload a longer version soon. Hopefully this week.
Enjoy this ambient trip into bad weather here in Australia....."
