"made by Meng Qi
circuit by Ciat-Lonbarde / Ray Willson
*buttons with light
*each osc can modulate each other for complex output
*filter that effectively shapes the sound, red = cutoff, blue = tone micro adjustment
*ldrs allow continuous control of sound and a variety of performance possibilities
each apcs build will sound different due to the large amount of randomly selected components in the circuit."

Koushion 2.4 Adds Retina Support, Rebound Loop Mode & More
"What's New in Version 2.4
* iPad Retina graphics!
* Added a "rebound" loop mode (loops a single scene forwards and backwards).
* Fixed an issue with certain popover drawers which cause them to shrink as the app was used.
* Fixed an issue with playing extra notes when starting chained mode playback."
"Koushion is a new kind of MIDI controller for your iPad, and is similar to the Yamaha TENORI-ON. While it looks like a simple Tone Matrix step sequencer, this is no toy. Koushion is quite possibly the next big thing in electronic music.
---
Koushion has been featured in DJ Weekly ES, Synthtopia, Sonic State, Hispasonic, and a YouTube video review by VJ Franz K! Thanks for your support and feedback!
---
Features:
* 16-step sequencer with a 2-octave range.
* Integrates with your hardware MIDI setup via the iRig MIDI iPad accessory from IK Multimedia!
* Connect wirelessly via a either a connector application (for Windows) or CoreMIDI (for OS X).
* Syncs to any MIDI clock source or sends a MIDI clock signal so that the performance or production always stays synced.
* Tap to set tempo (great for syncing with a live band)
* Plays up to eight scenes/banks individually (wrap-around or rebounding loop), chained in succession, or simultaneously.
* Adjustable quantization.
* Switches easily to any major, minor, or pentatonic key with the push of a button.
* Chromatic scale mode (useful for drum machine programming).
* Configurable scene/bank MIDI channel assignments to enable control of multiple instruments at the same time."

VSP330r2 Plugin VS Real VP-330 Test 2
YouTube Published on Apr 11, 2012 by gstormelectro
Weird. YouTube changed it's messaging from Uploaded to Published.
"http://gstormelectronica.blogspot.com/
I am developing a new plugin version for the VP-330. The sounds you hear are testing the PC plugin (off screen) against a real MKI VP-330. Both have all voices/strings/ensemble turned on for full effect. This is a work in progress, I'm thinking the UpperFemale4' still needs some work and could be closer. Everything else seems to be great.
When the time comes and all goes well in beta testing, this VST will be available at a very modest donation everyone can afford. The VP-330 being some kind of rare and mythological creature, my intention is to make the experience of the vintage choirs/strings available to more people and their use in music."

Sewing Machine Orchestra
Sewing Machine Orchestra from Martin Messier on Vimeo.
"Sewing machine orchestra is the first version of a performance created by martin messier. the basic sounds used in this performance consist entirely of the acoustic noises produced by 8 sewing machines, amplified by means of microcontacts and process by a computer.
the microcontroller system also enable to use the sewing machines to affect certain parameters of the acoustic sound. the wheel, for exemple, can be assigned to the output volume, etc. machine's mechanism can be activated by remote, using microcontrollers and a computer, without the need for any other human intervention.
these old objects has the effect of taking the imagination further, primarily through their evocative power. whether they remind of specific incidents or recall the relationship to such objects, few people remain indifferent when they see them.
this creation was made possible with the support of the canada council for the arts.

via the listing: "Hi here we have my very special Korg micro preset customised synth
I like to call it the" lounge lizard edition " on account of the faux crocodile skin top panel ;-)
When I got this it was tatty , the wood finish was rough but it was still a lovely synth
I had the case template remade in solid oak which has been finished in beeswax
It has had a uv led which indicated power and flashes in time with the lfo
It has been resprayed black
It has had cykongs CV mods which work great on all presets except synthe 1 , I think it's because it has a fixed attack , it works but is not as loud as it should be , it's not a fault it's just the way the cv mod works I'm afraid , the cv inputs are at the back and there is a switch to change between keyboard and cv , I can get 4 plus octaves in tune with my Kenton on this which is pretty damn good
The Portamento switch was broken when I bought it , I have replaced it with a similar toggle switch , the original switch was 3 way which had momentary Portamento when you pushed it up , this could not be sourced , I have added a push button to have momentary but currently only works inverted ie you can hold it down with Portamento on and Portamento is off when released Portamento is on , ok but not ideal I'll try and sort it out before sale I think I need to use a push to break instead of push to make switch that's all but if I can't it's no big deal anyway
This is a lovely and unique synth but it sounds really similar to my customised minikorg 700 which Is my favourite so it doesn't get used
If your looking for something special with useful cv mods this is a no brainer"

Roland 80017a Chips Removal - GR-700 MKS-30 Juno 106
YouTube Uploaded by WayneJoness on Apr 11, 2012
"http://www.joness.com/gr300 This video shows the removal of a 80017a chip from a GR-700 printed circuit board. The tools I used were a Radio Shack 30 watt soldering iron, desoldering wick, soldering helper, and Caig DeoxIT D5. The basic Radio Shack 30 watt soldering kit has almost everything your need. I find that spraying the Caig DeoxIT D5 between operations helps keep the PCB clean, and helps the old solder flux move on to the desoldering wick. After I have removed the solder from the pins, I used the soldering helper to line the pins up, then gently rock the chip back and forth to make sure everything is loose. Rather than pull the chip out, I first push on the pins on the soldering side, then gently tug at the chip. It comes right out. If you have not tried this before, I recommend practicing on some spare parts, as this can be tricky and frustrating."

Because of the limited number of these synths these modules are no longer produced.

Teenage Engineering OP-1 timestretching how to
YouTube Uploaded by darenager on Apr 11, 2012
"A quick tutorial how to timestretch a loop on the OP-1, it is a bit of a hack but works quite well in a lo-fi way, here is how it works, the value LFO is assigned to loop direction, with a fast speed the tempo will change without affecting the pitch, seems to work best with vocals or beats. Enjoy!"
