"Drone1 using Marsynth Morris Box / Line6 DL4/ Akai Headrush by Shane Morris 07/05/12

The Morris Box was built for me by Damon Mar after I requested a simple 2 oscillator box specifically for making drones. It is housed in a cigar box. The box can make sounds that range from an Indian Tampura to an Australian Didgeridoo, as well as lots of electronic and pulse oriented tones and rhythms."

"The system comprises:
Delta Music Research four-note polyphonic modular analog synthesizer
Delta Music Research microprocessor controller polyphonic keyboard
2 x Moog Taurus 2 mono analog bass synth brain
Future Retro Mobius analog MIDI sequencer
2 x Korg MS2000R MIDI virtual analog synth/sequencers
Quasimidi 309 Groove X Klaus Schulze limited edition drum sequencer
Quasimidi Polymorph polyphonic MIDI synth/sequencer,
2 x Pro Muzer dual analog drum synthesizers,
Synare PS1 analog drum synth brain (pads separate, needs repair)
Roland SH3a monophonic analog synth (keyboard removed)
Roland MKB300 splttable MIDI controller keyboard
Patch bay, Nobels mixer, TASCAM MM1 MIDI programmable mute mixer

The system's in custom built cabinets matching the shape of the Delta Music Research system, which is a rare US or Canadian-built genuine analog modular which has four oscillators, four envelopes and four filters, so is capable of playing four-note polyphonically. Patch cables are included.

The YouTube information includes a link to my website and various sections of the modular system have been on stage with me at the London South Bank Centre with Damo Suzuki of Can, and in concert in London with White Noise and with Arthur Brown.

All the major parts of the system including all the MIDI elements are guaranteed working. With over 2000 knobs and controls, and parts of the system dating back to the 1970's, no overall guarantee is made. The Synare PS1 lacks its internal power transformer and may well work when one is fitted - its pads are included separately. The Pro Muzer dual analog drums haven't been tested but are probably fine, both have case lids included and one of these has the original pads with piezo pickups still in place, but you'll probably play the modules from alternative trigger sources anyway. The Roland SH3a's keyboard has not been retained and one of its four oscillator footages may be dead, but the others are fine and the synth is great for sound effects and arpeggios.

The amount of cabling at the rear of the system is vast (some of the MIDI cabling using angled stereo jack adaptors rather than DIN plugs) and for this reason and many others, you will understand when I say that this system is not for the beginner, and I will not sell it to a beginner. The interfacing options of the various modules are vast in terms of MIDI, audio and clock connections and the system should be connected in any way the new owner sees fit, with any minor replacements and repairs being carried out at the time. Expect to take at least two weeks to have the system installed and running in a new location. I will provide advice for 6 months from purchase.

For transportation purposes, the system is not as intimidating as it looks. It is now disassembled into three suitcases plus a box and will fit readily in any car. You do not need a large van to collect it.

Collection from North London by appointment is the only option and absolutely no form of shipping anywhere will be considered. You may purchase from outside the UK, but you will have to arrange to visit London to collect.

Anyone interested in this system must make contact with a detailed statement of their location and ability to purchase. No bids from anyone not approved in advance will be considered. There is no point making last minute bids, they will be removed. You must make contact early and with extensive detail to stand any chance of being the successful purchaser.

If you would like to know the guide selling price, make contact to ask.

'El Monstruo' will offer you thousands of hours of musical diversion. Make contact early if you are interested in being its new owner."

"AudioCheck of what I submitted to Apple a few days ago. It is possible to get clicks in the sound if you are running a lot of stuff in the background (performance issues...caused by missed rendering deadlines), but this was the result of cleaning up garbage in the code and trying to get back to a meatier sound that I had before I cleaned up things before Cantor 1.0 submission. Compare this to the version you have, and skip the upgrade if you don't want your sound to change at all."

"The unit is 16 inches wide, 8 1/2 inches tall, 6 1/2 inches deep. Two ring mods, three oscillators, two burst generators, sample and hold, noise, delay, LFO, HPF, LPF, and a 6 channel mixer. All analog except the delay unit which was modeled to sound like an analog delay. The original had a spring reverb where the delay unit is located. The electro Comp 200 also had a microphone amp that has been replaced on the EMW model with a useful LFO. MSRP is slated to be in the $1,299.00 range"

This is a work of fiction, it never happened in real life so no hating on how bad it is. Just messing around within the first 30minutes of me opening up the new Arturia Minibrute. Gotta say it's lots of fun. Looking forward to exploring it a LOT more. Expect some better videos soon. There are some fun parts though in here. Youtube tells me there's sync issues, sorry for that. Not going to fix, just going to upload more videos. This is also my first jam with the fat controller. Still learning it's ins and outs.

I'll tell you that off the bat it has arpeggiator issues. Be warned."

Modular Tracks 1

YouTube Published on Jul 6, 2012 by pjoris2

"The first real "track" here. I wanted to do something summery like Roedelius or so. Not sure if it is the Belgium weather but it didn't end up that summery.

No full explanation of the patches this time, but some info:
- main sequence is from the oberkorn: 2 16 note sequences, each played twice, using a clock divider and sequential switch
- these sequences are played by the Livewire AFG through the AMSyths JP6 filter
- then through my Korg PME4: 3 analoge delays+flanger
- baseline is from the 3rd channel of the oberkorn, played by a doepfer VCO through the AS multimode filter
- the "strings" are the could generator controlled by an SQ8 sequencer through the AMSynths JP8 filter (clocked at 1 step for each 16 steps on the oberkorn), through a Boss DD20 delay
- everything is transposed by a second SQ8
- all notes are quantized using 2 doepfer quantizers
This is recorded in one run. Then I added two tracks whit some random noises from a noise source through an AS "EMS" filter, an AS echo module and the korg PME40X pedal board.

The mandolin was not used ...;"

Hollow Sun ADVANCED NOISE GENERATOR

via Hollow Sun

"Sometimes, you just can't have enough noise. For special effects, sound design, atmos, drum and percussion sounds, sweeps, etc., noise is such an invaluable tool.

Sadly, these days, noise is something of an afterthought on many synths with just one paltry selection and with today's software based synths generating it digitally, it's just not the same as true analogue noise, it's pseudo-random noise based on mathematical algorithms.

True analogue noise is created using a zener diode which is biased into breakdown to produce truly random noise. Another method is to use a transistor wired so that its emitter-base junction is reverse biased which does much the same as a zener diode.

It seems daft but analogue noise does have an appreciably 'weightier' quality to it than virtual analogue noise, even though they may 'look' essentially the same on a 'scope or in a wave editor.

The Advanced Noise Generator provides all this and more..."

Horsman Inc's Rack Planner Update Include Multiple Format Modules

via Horsman Inc.

"Today was a big day in my rack planner's development. A very big day. Today's the day we went multi-format. The planner can now handle Buchla and Synthesizers.com modules as well as Eurorack - in the same plan. Other formats should present few challenges - just a matter of inputting the dimensions of a standard width panel for each. I'm really pleased with how well this has worked out."

"3-color noise source, hold button for continuous sound, power and LFO speed LED... Built by me, based on the M.Bareille schematic (Pappareil synth labs, France) DS8 with some improvements.

Anodized aluminium housing, CNC engraved labeling, darkened (stained) or natural lacquered oak wood sides.

Built like a tank :)

Sound is triggered by clicking to front panel or by external drum pad or external audio signal.

Trigger button = continuous sound (you can use it as dub siren).

Great for sampling or live performance or you can use it with analog sequencer/synth

(trig/gate in and CV in if you want change tune from external sequencer/synth).

You can connect external drum pad into Trig In connector for live drumming.

Or connect individual output from your drum machine to Coron´s Trig in and "replace" internal sound by Coron´s pure analog sound."

Soniccouture Releases Crowdchoir - Profits to be Donated to The Red Cross

"Soniccouture is very pleased to announce that their Crowdchoir project has been a great success. The 'Crowd-choir' was an idea for a crowd-sourced sampled instrument, partly inspired by the 10cc track 'I'm not in love', which famously featured a vocal pad sound created by painstakingly over- dubbing a single vocal note over and over
again.

The plan was to get hundreds of people all around the world to sing one note each from a 3 octave range - then layer these recordings in a sampler to create a unique vocal sound - a wash of different voices in different rooms in different countries.

Each participant was provided with instructions on how best to record their note - which format, sample rate etc - and a web form by which they could upload the audio file along with their name and email address.

The Results
Over 1000 people contributed in excess of 4000 notes over a 3 month period, a fantastic success. The resulting audio was edited and processed into a truly unique sampler instrument, which you can hear and read more about on the Crowdchoir webpage.

The instrument is available now for £20 / €20 / $25.
( Kontakt / EXS24 / Ableton Live formats )
All profits will be donated to The Red Cross charity"

"You are bidding on a Roland TR-909 in mint conditon, which is probably the only one like it in the entire world!!!

This is a one owner, air conditioned only, Roland TR-909. I am selling for a friend who is out of the music business

This TR-909 was sent to Europe for a Professional Silver and Black paint job and other modifications.

The finish is virtually perfect and the unit is in mint condition.

Numerous professionally installed modifications were performed as seen in the photos. The panel graphics from Roland are duplicated for the mods so they look like they came from the factory.

The modifications are as follows;

[1] Pitch and tone variations are now available for the bass drum

[2] Snare drum filtering is now changeable

[3] Hi Hat pitch can be changed

[4] Factory reset switches that can restore the above to factory specifications and sound

[5] Control Voltage input jack to modify Snare drum pitch

[6] Control Voltage input jack to modify Bass drum pitch

[7] Snare drum filter audio input

[8] Custom Blue LED’s that glow

This unit is fully tested and comes with cord and manual

Why settle for a bland looking stock TR-909 when this one looks so damn cool and has so many extra sonic possibilities."
