The MFOS NOISE TOASTER In Space

YouTube ublished on Aug 22, 2012 by theraywilsonshow

"Multi-track recording using MFOS NOISE TOASTER for all sounds and SONAR Producer Edition for reverb and delay. Made in a semi musique-concrete way using wav file snippets instead of tape. The background drones are all real time throughout. It is a low frequency ramp synced to the LFO and I'm tweaking the vco freq knob to accentuate sync harmonics. The VCO then goes through the voltage controlled low pass filter whose cut-off frequency is about half way up. If you want to build a noise toaster go here"

WMD Triple Bipolar VCA

"Intoducing the WMD Triple Bipolar VCA, the input side expansion for our Phase Displacement Oscillator. This module provides dedicated inverting/polarizing/bipolar amplitude modulating inputs normaled to the Phase Modulation inputs on the PDO.

A bipolar VCA is like a normal VCA when operated with positive control voltage. But when using a negative control voltage, the output will swing back past zero amplitude and invert the signal coming out. This produces deeper modulation than a normal VCA.

The Triple Bipolar VCA is also designed to be used as a standalone module, it does not require the PDO to operate.

Features

Three Bipolar VCAs
Normaling to PDO
Linear Response
Bipolar Attenuator for CV
Mix Output Sums All Three VCAs
Bi-color Signal LED
"-" Input for Crossfading
Skiffable PCB Design
8 HP
+80mA/-75mA Current Consumption

Controls and I/O

+ In - This is the normal input for each VCA channel. It drives the inverting side of the Bipolar VCA. These inputs are normaled from outputs on the PDO.

- In - This is the second input for the VCA channel. Normaled through this jack is the inverted signal from the + Input. Plugging in here converts the channel from a Bipolar VCA to a crossfader, blending between the + and - inputs. When in crossfade mode, both inputs and the output are non-inverted.

CV - This input jack drives the CV knob. It can handle unipolar or bipolar signals.

Out - This is the output of each VCA channel. They are normaled to the Phase Modulation inputs on the PDO.

Bias Knob - Sets the manual gain for the VCA. Centered will have a zero output in bipolar mode, and 50%/50% of both + and - inputs in crossfade mode.

CV Knob - This knob is a bipolar attenuator for the signal applied to the CV jack. Spin clockwise from center for positive CV interactions, counterclockwise to invert the CV.

Mix Out - This output jack mixes the signals from each VCA."

"Description

★ "If you like great arpeggiators, this is it!" - Jordan Rudess ★
★ Featured as a Popular New Music App ★
★ Reached top 20 in music apps ★

The Arpeggionome is a musical instrument designed specifically for the iPad. With the Arpeggionome, you can design and perform intricate patterns of musical notes at incredible speeds and with precise control.

MUSICAL EXPRESSION AT 480 NOTES PER SECOND.
The Performance Matrix is the Arpeggionome’s main musical interface. Touch any Control Point in the Performance Matrix to trigger the notes in the pattern.
• Move your finger left and right to set the reference-note of the pattern.
• Move your finger up and down to set the pattern's speed.

• Control up to 480 notes per second, nearly 30,000 notes per minute.

VIBRATO AND TREMOLO, ESSENTIAL FOR 8-BIT SOLOS.
The iPad's accelerometer controls vibrato and tremolo.

• For expressive changes in pitch, tilt the iPad left and right to apply vibrato.
• For expressive changes in volume, tilt the iPad forward and backward to apply tremolo.

DESIGN AN ARPEGGIO FROM SCRATCH...
Eight touch-knobs are used to design the Arpeggionome's pattern. The touch-knobs are also great for performance. They can be changed in real-time, and then double-tapped back to their saved value.

• Key & Scale - sets the key and scale of the pattern.
• Octave Range - sets the starting and ending octaves of the pattern.
• Octave Style - sets how the pattern moves between octaves
.
• Control Range - sets the placement of the Control Points.
• Notes - sets the number of unique notes that will be triggered
.
• Step Distance - sets the distance between each note of the pattern
.
• Notes Style - sets how the pattern moves between notes
.
• Tempo - Sets

 the global tempo.

...OR USE A PRESET.
The Arpeggionome includes a Pattern Library with a wide selection of presets. You can also save your own patterns to the Pattern Library.

BEAUTIFUL AND INFORMATIVE VISUAL FEEDBACK.

The Arpeggionome provides visual feedback for your position in the Performance Matrix, every note you trigger, vibrato amount, and tremolo amount.

• Your position in the Performance Matrix is represented by the intersection of two green lines.

• Every note you trigger flashes green in the keyboard above the Performance Matrix.

• Vibrato and tremolo are represented by the two sliders below the Performance Matrix.

OTHER FEATURES
.
• Includes an interactive tutorial.

• Can be used as a tool for learning music theory.
• iPad HD ready.

HISTORY
The Arpeggionome was first a hardware project, called the Kaossonome. At Music Hack Day San Francisco 2012, the project found its new home on the iPad. After receiving some great prizes at Music Hack Day, it became clear that the software successor to the Kaossonome, the Arpeggionome, was ready to rear its head on the App Store."

"Made in Essex England. Ultimate Percussion "UP5" super analogue synthesizer system electronic drum module with 4 pads. Very primitive, but very cool old analog drum sounds similar to early Simmons. Includes levels for snare, tom 1, tom 2, tom 3, & bass drum. Module has volume control on each channel and includes a "P.P.S." section that controls decay, noise, and pitch. The other features work when pushed, but the button does not stay in (always intended to take it to an electronics guy but never found the time). The only other thing that needs addressed on the module is that tom 2, when struck, plays the analog tom sound in....... reverse I guess??? All of the others are fine, tom 2 sounds like a sweep, like the intended sound is being played backwards! Don't ask, I have never been able to figure that one out... Don't get me wrong, it sounds really cool. I just know it's not what it's supposed to sound like..."

Hillwood Blue Comets 73 Super Rare Analog Synth SN 52009

Note: Auction links are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.

via this auction

"Up for auction is the incredibly rare HIllwood Blue Comets 73 Synth for parts or repair. Very little is known about this synth. I'm sure there are very few in exsistence, it may be worth owning just for the bizarre name/collectibility.

"This is a single oscillator monophonic synth, made in 1973. It has a 12db filter. The oscillator has both sawtooth and square wave that can be selected individually or combined with the four rocker switches simply labeled "Wave 1", "Wave 2", "Wave 3" or "Wave 4". It can be modified with 7 presets assignable with rocker tabs labeled "Effect 1", "Effect 2", etc. There are no descriptions to the tabs as to what they actually sound like. Luckily there is a tab labeled "Control" that allow you to tweak the sounds with the control panel to the left of the keyboard. Select all four "Wave" tabs and it will randomly distort. Add in "noise" and "Growl" and it can get downright nasty. It has a retro white heavy-metal casing."

I found this demo on youtube, not the best, but you can get an idea of what it sounds like. Dirty lo-fi analog spacey: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=81QZOhiWlSg [previously posted here]

It powers on but produces no sound when attached to an amp. It has scratching and pitting on the faceplate and the control section as pictured below, it doesnt have any missing sliders or broken buttons. Seems to be totally intact but definitley with wear to the body. One of the wood sides is attached, but loose, like as if the wood needs to be glued back down. Sold AS IS!"
