"I set up a self playing S/H patch on the EMW-200 and ran the result through the STG Sea Devil and Krisp1 ring mod. All of the raw sound is coming from the EMW-200, the Krisp1 mini LFO was controlling the filter. Part of the signal made it through the Strymon El Capistan echo pedal. The improvised drums were then performed live with the patch on the V-Drums. The film was then finished by Micky Dodds who also made the film for February-Moon Of Ice from the Twelve Full Moons album."
via Larry: "You can make your own overlay for many Korg, Dave Smith, Roland, and Native instruments at www.styleflip.com. They have a web based editor that is very good for designing your overlay but you can really customize your designs with a web based graphics editor like www.pixlr.com. It helps to have objects in the design on separate transparent layers to adjust for knob placement. They print your design on A 3m plastic which is about as thick as a playing card but pretty sturdy. The surface is textured and feels similar to the front of a DSI TETRA. I was worried that my design would end up looking like a lunch box but it still Looks and feels like a synth. I thought it was fun and satisfying to make one of these. I wish they had a template for the xoxbox."

"This incredible keyboard is the best stage piano out there, with beautiful and exquisitely detailed sounds that feel truly alive. It allows you to load in your choice of grands, uprights, (multiple different!) electric grands, Rhodes, Wurlitzer, Clavinet, harpsichords, and more, each in a variety of sizes to accommodate your needs. No more being stuck with useless sounds that you don’t like! It has a separate synth section that is completely compatible with the entire Nord sample library, so you get synths, string machines, acoustic instruments, Mellotrons, and just about anything else you could want—even your own samples! There’s a real VA synth engine in there, too, with lots of real-time controls. And it has probably the best clonewheel organ ever made, which does Farfisa and Vox organs in addition to B3s. Ergonomically, it’s got a velocity- and pressure-sensitive keyboard that feels great, a pitch-bender and a mod wheel, an internal power supply, an audio input, effects, jacks bolted to the chassis, and sturdy knobs that don’t wobble. It’s built like a tank, all metal and wood, yet it’s still compact and lightweight. Except for lacking a multitrack sequencer, it’s like a workstation that’s actually easy and fun to use. It’s an assembly of my favorite Nord sounds in it, but you can easily customize that with whatever sounds you want."

"The Blofeld is an amazing synth, and it's the culmination of all of Waldorf's technology to date. It easily rivals the Virus in terms of analog emulation, and is more lush and analog-sounding than any previous Waldorf synth. It's also got all the wavetables from the Q, the Wave/MicroWave, and the PPG on board (even the "upper" wavetable from the PPG Wave 2.3), so it can do amazing sonic morphs and soundscapes. Plus two types of comb filters, a fantastic emulation of the PPG filter and its piercing resonance, a range of drive curves and waveshaping options, a killer programmable arpeggiator, and so on. Plus it's tiny, it's built like a tank, and it's got a beautiful, informative graphic display."

"The Nova IIX is one of the best virtual analogs ever made, which is why you don't see them for sale very often. The Nova II has the complete synth engine from the top-of-the-line Supernova II, and this is the X version, which means that it has 24 voices. It's got an unbelievably fat and smooth sound, and some features that most brand-new synth models don't even have. It can shriek, belch, and howl like a massive 80s analog polysynth, or it can be silky, sparkly, and ethereal like a D50 or WaveStation. Or both at once.
It's got multiple filter types, including many dual-filter configurations and an 18dB lowpass option that gives it a wicked, squelchy, 808 sound; 8 different FM and ring mod algorithms; virtual sync oscillators so you can use hard sync on a single oscillator without using up any of the other three oscillators per voice; modulatable doublesaw waves plus additional wave options via sync skew, formant width, and hardness waveshaping; the best programmable arpeggiator in the industry; balanced inputs and 6 independent outputs; an excellent 42-band vocoder; an internal power supply (just say no to wall warts!); user-rewritable memory for 512 programs; separate hardware controls for each multitimbral performance part; a constant gate button for the inputs and vocoder; and the icing on the cake—7 independent simultaneous effects on EACH of 6 multitimbral parts in a performance!"

"The Bee Gee's Electronic Music Synthesizer and Rhythm Machine. Takes a 9 volt battery. Works Great! On/off switch and volume control. Three different rhythms with a tempo button to speed up and turn off. Has a tuning button to change keys up and down. I listed it as "used" but I don't believe it's ever been used. The box is a little worn around the edges but the synthesizer is in very good shape."

"Impaktor is a drum modeller from Beep Street (www.beepstreet.com) that uses the mic input as an impulse to generate and trigger drum synthesis. I started playing it on my desk, then triggered by my tabla, and finally with TC-11 alongside. I figured I'd share the fun with this video."

"Driving A Spaceship" from the new album "Interstellar Getaway".
iTunes: Sebastian Arnold
"SEBASTIAN ARNOLD is a genuine one-man band behind his drum kit and synthesizers. Watching him for the first time, you may think of someone driving a spaceship with drumsticks. However, his mission goes beyond flying: since 2008 the "mad scientist drummer" has been exploring the intersections of instrumental and electronic club music. All alone on stage, he is building song structures by layering loops and drum-triggered sequences with acoustic drums, keyboards and vocals. The result is an organic mixture of elektro, post-rock, drum'n'bass and indietronica. A stellar performance! http://www.sebastian-arnold.net

In time for Halloween!
" Bends:
- 2 Super bright green LED's on the sides of the unit
- 2 bend/glitch switches that bend and twist the words in different ways depending on what mode you are in and how many of the switches you have on. You can get endless bent sounds and words with these 2 switches. When you turn on a bend switch and you are in the right mode, you can get the unit to ramble on endlessly.
- 1 tone switch that puts out a steady tone that you can change to a lower or higher tone by pressing the keypad. There are 3 or more different tones that you can get using this switch. You can use any of the pitch controls to "play" the pitch of the tone. - 2 loop switches that will "catch" or "Freeze" a bent or normal sound and repeat it so you can play the pitch of the loop with any of the pitch controls. To advance to the next loop, just flip the loop switch off/on. No need for an extra "Loop advance" button. You can use both the loop switches at the same time to create cool combination loops!
- 1 Pitch change photo sensor that you can wave your hand over without touching it to change the pitch of the sound or loop, just like playing a theremin. This is one of the best feature of the FREAKENSPEAK. You can also use a lazer pointer or flashlight on the photo sensor for a cool effect. This is a great feature for live performance.

"The Gnome Synthesizer was originally made to imitate the sound of the wind, but it was possible to make other sounds as well. It has a small vinyl controller strip originally used to control the "strength" of the wind. Because of its small size and battery power, this small synth has become something of a classic, and one of the old Paia instruments that is still well sought for today..."

"Roland SH-09 monophonic analog synthesizer. Included with it is a basic MIDI to CV converter with a power supply, midi cable, and two patch cables. The synth is in fantastic condition with no functionality issues whatsoever. It is vintage so it does have some expected wear but nothing bad at all. This thing can create a wide range of sounds. From thick, rubber, sub-bass sounds to acid lines and smooth leads. Simple but versatile. It also has an external input so you can run drum loops or other synths through the filter. Definitley a good way to dirty up some soft synths too. The MIDI to CV converter does basic note-on, note-off and can be controlled with a computer or hardware sequencer that has midi out..."

"Here is a demo of the Yamaha CS-5 analog monosynth and the Roland TR-606 analog drum machine. The Yamaha is being triggered via one of the trigger outs on the 606. The CS-5 has an envelope follower of sorts on it's audio in and that is what I ran the trigger into. Adjusting the gain on the audio-in allows for some odd timing on the pulses; it's a neat effect.
As you can hear in the video, the CS-5 excels at resonant sounds. The all-black CS synths are easily some of the cleanest sounding vintage synths; this sort of works against them in some ways as people seem to gravitate to the dirty or muffled ("organic", bleh) synths of that era. It's sound sits well next to a Roland synth of the same vintage, I think."

"This is a short demonstration of the sounds and features of the Synare Sensor clone kit as designed and retailed by eBay member helensson. I purchased this kit a few weeks ago, constructed the circuit board over a few hours one evening and then bodged together the wooden case over the following morning. At the time of writing this kit is still sold by helensson on eBay.
There are already a few demos of this very kit but I thought I would stick one up that demonstrates almost all of the sound possibilities of this unit with clean line in audio."
"If you found this auction then I assume you know all about the Synare Sensor and the Synare 4 drum synthesizers. This is a direct clone of the Synare Sensor board .... Well...actually the original was single sided, where as this design is double sided with plated through holes....a much nicer design. This is true analog design...there are NO harsh square wave 555 timer chips here ..... no 4093...etc. All oscillations and modulations are produced by OpAmp circuits and The VCA section is built around the CA3080 OTA chip ..... for tried and true smooth analog synth tone!
In this kit I include the circuit board and all components needed to construct the module...I even include sockets for the ICs. The only things missing are knobs and a suitable enclosure. You may even want to get serious and use several of these kits to build a custom system. Also, the boards are small enough to install inside the shell of a small drum, just like the old Synare "UFO's".
As an option, the kit's potentiometers and power switch can easily be mounted off the board. This will allow you to use any existing or any custom enclosure desired.
All new quality components are used throughout the design and assembly instructions are included.
Here is a link to a builders experience with a few photos of the board being assembled - http://isistowers.blogspot.com/2010/11/percussive-synthesiser-mpc-part-1.html
