Happy Drum Machine Halloween

Published on Sep 29, 2012 by Catabolicdj

"A spooky little Halloween live jam on three drum machines. Make sure you turn off all the lights before listening :) Outside shots were taken on within minutes of each other on a recent clear night with a full moon as a powerful storm passed by just to the north. Gear: Elektron Machinedrum UW and dual Sync-modded Boss DR-110's, one with a bass drum mod. Setup: Machinedrum generates sync and outputs it on one channel. A Y-adapter is used to split the sync signal to send to the DR-110's. DR-110's do not naturally sync to other machines, but I modified them to do so. Both DR-110's outputs are returned to the Machinedrum and added to its mix. If you listen in stereo (add fmt=32 to the end of the URL), you can hear the two separate DR-110's more clearly. All drum sounds from the DR-110's, everything else from the Machinedrum. The "guitar" sound on the Machinedrum is amplitude modulation of a high-hat sound. It is difficult to control because it generates weird harmonics, but it sounds fairly guitar-like for being a high-hat. Video is HD viewable."

"Beyond MINT condition, this extraordinary Mid-70's vintage analog VCO/VCF/VCA synthesizer is an unusually expressive instrument as it features immediately accessible, simultaneously-available aftertouch or "Touch Sensor" (aka pressure sensitivity parameters)...

EXPRESSIVENESS! TOUCH / AFTERTOUCH / PRESSURE EFFECTS! Sure, others have Pitch Bend, but here you have, at the flick of a single switch which is ideal for performance (thus the PRO moniker): "WOW" (res filter opening/closing), "GROWL" (LFO LF Mod), BRILLANCE, VOLUME, and of course, VIBRATO.

OVERALL TOUCH SENSITIVITY immediately accessible. GLIDE / GLISSANDO / PORTAMENTO also immediately available via included AUTHENTIC ORIGINAL ARP FOOTSWITCH, with immediately available GLIDE SPEED Control too! REPEAT effect, with it's own LFO also available, instantly..."

"Korg MS-20 analog synthesizer. Overhauled, all capacitors replaced, no scratchy pots, no smoke smell, power supply rebuild, keyboard disassembled cleaned, re-calibrated to specs, no surprises. Everything has been tested and works the way it should 100%. Has the more sought after "screw"filter version. Condition also is very good. Minor blemishes nothing really stands out.... "

"This is the last Quicksilver 303 we have in stock for now, so don't wait!

This 303 has been modified with the Quicksilver 303 CPU upgrade.
A great way to get this amazing upgrade without having to send away your 303 or deal with installation.

All LEDs have been upgraded to a nice diffused BLUE.

This machine has also had the switches replaced with new ALPS sealed tact switches, so there isn't any problems with buttons double triggering.

The Quicksilver 303 CPU adds support for:
* MIDI input/output
* USB-MIDI
* realtime pattern editing
* pattern MIDI output
* sysex pattern dumps
* realtime mode switching
* filter cutoff control over MIDI
* pattern randomize
* MIDI sync
* updateable operating system
... and much, much more.

With the Quicksilver 303 upgrade, the 303 has become an amazing interactive live performance synthesizer.
You can create and edit patterns without ever stopping the sequencer.

You can find out more about the Quicksilver 303 upgrade here

YAMAHA SK50D SYMPHONIC ENSEMBLE

Note: Auction links are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.

via this auction

"One of the rarest and hardest to find 80’s Yamaha synths

Here is the flagship of early 80’s Yamaha synthesizers. The SK50D is a multi-instrument analog synthesizer with built in effects. It features dozens of sliders, knobs, switches, and lights allowing the user to create an infinite amount of unique sounds. Its got a fully tweakable monosynth and fully tweaklable polysynth.

The monosynth features 1 VCO and the polysynth feature 2 VCO’s. It also features full ADSR as well as a Low Pass Filter. Built in effects include Glide, Portemento,Vibrato, Tremelo and Ensemble. It features independent jacks to each instrument which allows the user to customize and project each individual instrument to the users preference.

122 key 2 tier synthesizer/combo organ with built in Monosynth, Polysynth, Bass, Strings, and Organ each with their own individual volume control slider, so you can use the slider bars as a mixer to set the individual volume for each section. All sections have their own separate audio outs (though a single Mix out is also available). A great thing for live performances is the split keyboard mode. With this you can have, for example, a very nice, punchy bass sound from the synth section and a lead sound coming from the organ or solo sections.

Dual keyboard multi synth instrument with both preset and programmable sounds.

It has a 9 drawbar organ, monophonic bass synth; a woofer killer bass with sine 3 oscillators.

It has a monophonic solo synth that can be layered with the bass synth for even more power and it responds to aftertouch!

There is a fully programmable 7 note polyphonic analog synth with VC LPF and resonance and it has three presets, and a 7 note polyphonic analog string synth ( actually these are the same synths which can be layered without losing polyphony but the string synth is a preset player with three preset sounds. The three string presets are almost the same sounds playing one octave higher than each other).

The aftertouch can control filter, filter modulation and vibrato at the same time.

Organ plays on both manuals. Mono synth usually plays at upper keyboard (can also double bass synth at the bottom keyboard), poly synth, string synth and bass plays at the bottom keyboard only. The sounds that play on the same keyboard can be layered without losing polyphony. What a beast!

It has ensemble and tremolo effects with speed variation control seperately on both keyboards and detune effect for the poly synth.

Seperate audio outputs for each sound and an on board sound mixer .

It is a very rare instrument. Very playable with lovely key action and gigable in its own hardcase. Has no MIDI but has got CV and trigger IN/OUT. Also a leslie cabinet connector."

Antonelli 2610 Solista IV 70/80

via this auction

Update: you can find a demo of one posted here (via the comments below)

"There are not too many synthesizers from seventies/eighties which are not demoed on Youtube. Usually it means that it was limited production... and it was something really good. Antonelli 2610 Solista IV IS really good, indeed. And it's rarity what means it's really hard to find another one at market.

It's a full analog instrument with three sections:
- drum machine
- auto accompaniment (bass and accords)
- preset synthesizer

As for drum machine it sounds really oldschool, like a locomotive which puff, buzz and doing strange things. If you know Kraftwerk or Jarre you understand what I mean. Accompaniment section has recorded waveforms synchronized with drum machine. Transposition of waveform is being made by playing at left side of keyboard. Synthesizer offers 10 presets, which you can freely link together, vibrato with speed button, delay function and something special - PHASER

This phaser deserve for individual discussion. It's effect which could be mounted in some best of the best analog synths of all time. For sure - it isnt boring fuzzer. It sound really clear and contour. Beautifully "sift" sound. After turning on phaser, delay and few presets Antonelli generate unique string-like sounds.

Antonelli is in very good condition. It plays with no problems, case is well groomed, white and clear keyboard. The only fault is that some of function levers are incomplete (see photos)."
