WMD Gamma Wave Source – Eurorack Wavetable Modular Synth Module

Note: Auction links are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.
via this auction
Three videos below. Description via WMD.

"The WMD Gamma Wave Source is a dual digital wavetable VCO that can create millions of timbres using onboard digital 'effects'.

The Controls

1V/Oct - Pitch input, used with standard 1 Volt per Octave keyboards and MIDI-CV converters. 0-5 volt input.

Pitch 1 & 2 - Controls the relative pitch per channel.

WT 1 & 2 Select - Select the desired wave table from the chart. 256 are available, each producing a different sound. Click for the table chart.

Out 1 & 2- Oscilator section output, each puts out +-2.5V/ 5Vpp signal.

The Effects Section

The GWS has four effects pipelines. Two for each oscilator. The Routing table selects how the oscillators interact with the effects pipelines.

FX Select Knob - Pushing this knob in will select the column that the knob is adjusting. Turning it will adjust the LEDs in the select column and will alter the Routing or Effects selection.

FX Para 1 & 2 - These knobs control the FX parameter for the oscillator section. Each effect has a specific parameter that is controlled by this knob. Adujust to taste.

Para CV & Attenuation Knob - This is a CV input for modulating and controlling the effects on the oscillator. Press the WaveTable Select knob to activate CV control per oscillator section. The LED will light when CV control is active. The FX Para knob will adjust the center or edges of the CV control depending on the selected effect.

Effects Table - These are the available effects, they are all created mathematically using 8 bit processing. The result is generally lo-fi and edgy, but smooth fat sounds are also possible.

LPF - Digital low pass filter, mellows out tone
HPF - Digital high pass filter, removes lows for brighter tone
Sharpen - Similar to HPF, but more aggressive
Bit Depth - Reduces vertical fidelity of signal
Bit Flip - Collapses signal in on itself, adds harmonics
Sample Rate - Reduces horizontal fidelity of signal
Sample Kill - Kills samples at a rate set by Para knob.
Sample Polarity - Inverts the signal at a rate set by Para knob
A+B - Adds the OSC1 and OSC2 wave tables and outputs
A-B - Subtracts the OSC1 and OSC2 wave tables and outputs

Routing Table - The routing table is depicted by the red rectangle. If no LED is lit, then effects are bypassed entirely.

A | B - OSC 1 -> FX A | OSC 2 -> FX B
AB | BA - OSC 1 -> FX A -> FX B | OSC 2 -> FX B -> FX A
AB | B - OSC 1 -> FX A -> FX B | OSC 2 -> FX B
A | BA - OSC 1 -> FX A | OSC 2 -> FX B -> FX A
AB | Byp - OSC 1 -> FX A -> FX B | OSC 2 -> No FX
Byp | BA - OSC 1 -> No FX | OSC 2 -> FX B -> FX A
CycA | B - OSC 1 -> Cycle forward through FX A | OSC 2 -> FX B
A | CycB - OSC 1 -> FX A | OSC 2 -> Cycle reverse through FX B
CycA | CycB - OSC 1 -> Cycle forward FX A | OSC 2 -> Cycle reverse FX B
RndA | RndB - OSC 1 -> Random FX A | OSC 2 -> Random FX B

When cascading effects (Osc 1 -> FX A -> FX B) the first effect in the chain has its parameter set by the FX Para knob ONLY in the top routing mode (A|B). This is then saved so that the tone can be retained during cascading.

Cascading Sequence - Properly cascading effects requires this process:
Set routing to (A|B)
Set first effect in chain and adjust parameter to taste
Set routing to cascaded mode (AB|B)
Set second effect (FX B) to taste using FX Para knob

Adjusting the wave table will retain parameter settings for the first effect in the chain..."

POLIVOKS Soviet Legendary 2-osc's Poly Synth

"The Polyvox is a duophonic analog synthesizer, with a 49-note (F-E) keyboard. It was made and sold in Russia (then USSR). It features two VCOs, a noise generator, one LFO, a filter (low-pass and bandpass), and two ADSR envelope generators. VCO1 can be cross-modulated by VCO2. Each ADSR can be switched to auto-trigger, each with independent rates.The sound is quite rich and somewhat harsh and aggressive. This is more of a space-synth. You can be sure that you will have never heard the sounds this one can produce. It sounds like these old Yamaha CS-30's, but then fat filters like in Moogs. Polyvox comes with a lockable hard shock resistant aluminum case covered with plastic, also there are two plastic compartments attached to the inside..."

"amazing PINK Korg Kaossilator. the original!

comes with a keyboard grid overlay installed that makes it super easy to find notes. great reference point for jamming out.

this thing is so much fun! lots of hidden tricks that you can find on the internet (like the 4 bar trick)

the sounds are great, it loops seamlessly. has leads, bass, acoustic, sound fx, drums, breaks. everything u would want.

runs on AA batteries so its great for on the go jamming. also great for sampling, sound sources."
Soundblox Pro Multiwave Bass Distortion w/ built in EQ via this auction.

"has separate volumes for clean and distortion.

TONS of different distortion modes. sounds sooo good!!

multiband distortion breaks your signal up into different frequency sections and applies the distortion to each band before recombining.

the sounds u can get out of this thing are wicked. fuzzy, synthy distortions abound. can do tamer stuff great as well.

6 presets, and a morphing function that morphs between two different presets (AWESOME!)"

"Download this Lemur template for free at Liine.net, including the Ableton Live Session: http://liine.net/en/products/lemur/premium/rheyne-jammer/

A performance using the new "RheyneJammer" Lemur template, demonstrating how live looping can be mixed with the included instruments and audio clips. This video is part of a longer video on Liine's YouTube channel which contains a tutorial on the template. The full version of the video can be seen here: http://youtu.be/-_ax_BQxPTw [posted here]

The template is a combination of live looping with the included Ableton instruments as well as an audio input. In addition, there is a page dedicated to a new live jam never heard on YouTube or SoundCloud, which can be remixed with the included Ableton instruments. Everything, as well as the instruments, have already been mapped to the included Ableton Live Session. Audio input will be enabled as long as you have an audio interface with a line-in.

The only software requirements for this to work is Lemur on an iPad and the full version of Ableton Live. Wifi or wired MIDI is required to connect the iPad to a computer."

Phatt - No Way I'm XL - Another Voyager XL Production

Published on Oct 9, 2012 by MrRidgebackman

"Yet another Video of the Beast,

Best listened to with the volume up and Headphones or a decent pair of Speakers....

There is an attempt at humour for people liking Synth Porn, yes that good old fashioned love for all things Synth, regardless of what brand it is.

The music is all recorded live into Logic Pro 9 track by track, only the drums were sequenced. Bass, Phantom bass line and the twiddly bit to the left., apart from the drums, all tracks were recorded in Mono and panned. some processing as usual.

Yes the Guts and innards of my Voyager XL. Footage taken before I sent her away to be serviced. Hope you enjoy this one...lets see how many of you make it to the end...

The video is of me videoing the event where I am checking connections inside and pointing out to Moogmusic my findings, before I sent her away. I have to say, the guys and support at Moogmusic are excellent, well done guys for sorting this out, I knew you would anyway, but the support I got was brilliant.

Gangnam Style live performance on Quasimidi Sirius

Published on Oct 9, 2012 by Hanni13579

Original below.

"Somebody challenged me to do this. So this is for you, Final Draft. :P

I was just fiddling around with my Sirius when I suddenly had the idea: could a Gangnam Style pattern work on a 7-track-sequencer? So I fetched a MIDI file for the bass line (I was being lazy ^^) and created something funky. And it worked.
This is far from perfect and actually just for fun (the bridge could have been far better ^^). It took me 8 (eight) takes to record this because a lot of things have to happen in a very short time and very precise - and that takes practice. But I like how it turned out. For all in all three hours of preparation.

For those who don't know: the Quasimidi Sirius is a 1997 German digital synthesizer / 7-track-sequencer / vocoder ... thing. The song is based on two patterns (arrangement loops), one for the verse and one for the chorus. The first octave on the keyboard mutes / unmutes the tracks. The second pitches the three synth tracks. The last two are "normal" in playback mode.
The sounds are 100% Sirius and were directly recorded from its stereo output. The mixdown has been mastered and EQed. There's a light additional reverb on the synth recording, because it sounded too dry for my taste. The filter at the beginning was added afterwards using Logic's Channel EQ.

I know I need to shave.

All the sounds were taken from JayB's sound set for Quasimidi Sirius. Available on my homepage. If you want the pattern too, PM me.

via this auction

"The SH-09 excels at killer monophonic bass, and has a real unique sound, one of the better in the Roland SH series. Great for bass sounds, rocking leads, as well as sequencing sounds from older CV/Gate enabled synths/sequencers. It is architecturely on par with the Roland SH-101, and is very fat & analog sounding. It's VCA can switch between gate or envelope and there's a sample & hold function used for VCF filtering acid type sounds. Hook the SH-09 up with one of Roland's CSQ-100 or CSQ-600 Sequencers, and this thing kicks some major sequencing you know what. Another great thing about the SH-09 is the CV/Gate IN & OUT jacks used for sequencing with other analog synths. Also, cool is the external Audio IN input jack used for processing all types of instruments and external audio (guitar, bass, drums, field recordings, other synths, you name it) through the VCF filter.

All sliders move smoothly, no crackling pots, noisy knobs or sticking keys.
For a vintage synth of it's age, this baby is in tip top shape, physically & sonically."

Star Sound

Quark doesn't enhance her
Amazing discover
She told me she feels so unnatural
Well I guessed it through the light

She would like to be at least like her friend Neutron
But her force wasn't enough strong
Similar to hardons

Dark matter
It doesn't matter
Chandra is a star
She flatters
She gives rigor
Chandra will not start

She lost her mind in a black hole
And her soul
Electric, eccentric, nostalgic, magnetic
She thinks she's a troll

She just want to be lost in the vacuum
Endless universe can't you release her
From those dark chains that keep the star miserable
That's true this sun doesn't seem stable

Unpulsar
Quark matter
Chandra like a black fire
Exotic star
No collapse
Chandra in the dark

Maybe shorter than Pluto
She seems to be cold
Denser than her mates
She degenerates

"The VXXY Chip Tune Drum machine or DCM8 as its creators dubbed it is a very fun little groove box. I haven't seen too many videos floating around for it so I figured I would do one starting with just a blank slot and fill it up "on the fly"

You can create TONS of grooves with this thing and the sounds are all very arcadey and retro which makes it inspiring to work with. It has a few performance options in it and the way it is programmed is akin to some of the classic XOX style TR Drum machines.

I merely scratched the surface in this video and I will do more video's on it with other gear to give an idea what it sounds like 'in the mix'."

1939 RCA STORYTONE PIANO - Worlds First Electric Piano

Note: Auction links are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.

via this auction

"An extremely rare and historically important instrument, the RCA Storytone piano was built in 1939 in a joint venture between Story & Clark and RCA. It is the world's first electric piano, and it debuted at the 1939 World's Fair, which was truly a great event for musical instruments -- the similarly famous Hammond Novachord, the world's first polyphonic tube synthesizer debuted there in 1939 as well.

The piano has normal strings and action but no soundboard -- the sound is amplified through electromagnetic pickups, circuitry and a speaker system, making it the world's first commercial electric piano. It works especially well for sustained styles of playing, as notes can last up to a minute or more with its unique form of resonance. It sounds more authentic and much more like a real piano than a Rhodes, Wurlitzer or Helpinstill, and sounds richer, fuller, and thicker than a Yamaha CP-70 or Kawai EP-308. It really is the king of all electric pianos, save for transportability.

Even better, it has an art deco/streamline design that rivals that of the finest furniture of the era. This piano has been refinished and restored and is in excellent functional and cosmetic condition. It also comes with its original bench, which has also been refinished, reupholstered, and restored. Please note that we did not replace the keytops, which are original, because they look better than new keytops would.

Please note that the shipping cost is an estimate and that the actual shipping cost to the buyer will vary based on the buyer's location. For instance, moving this to the east coast would cost $590, while moving this within the Los Angeles metro area would cost $125."

It has been checked over, tuned and PAT tested for electrical safety by James Walker at Synth Repair Services and is in excellent working order - all pots move smoothly and noiselessly and all pots, switches and knobs function exactly as they should - it is a joy to play and program..."

"This is a custom built Drum synth based on the classic DS7 .built from quality components on a printed PCB. no timer chips inside.. this is all analogue circuity and sound wunderfully warm. built into a rugged metal enclosure..triggered either from the front pad pickup or from an external drum pad

The controls are as follows:
ON/OFF switch with ultra bright indication backlight
TUNE POT - controls the pitch of the oscillator
FREQUENCY POT - controls the speed/rate of the LFO
MODULATION POT - controls the depth of the LFO
DECAY POT - controls the length of the sound
SWEEP POT - controls the range of the oscillator sweep
VOLUME POT - controls the output gain
TRIGGER PAD - mounted on the front face plate
PAD SELECT SWITCH - switches between front mounted pad or an external drum pad

The output is via a 1/4 inch mono Jack at the rear of the unit
Can be ran either from the included 9V PP3 battery or via 9V DC socket (switchable).

this versitile little synth can create many interesting percussive and melodic effects simply by manipulating the controlls and hitting the pad.. many of the classic jah shaka and tubbys effects used in early dub reggae can be attained.. really sounds so nice when plugged into a delay and reverb.."

"This auction is for my fully assembled, fully functional Mutable Instruments Ambika (6 Voice) 4-Pole Polyphonic Synthesizer. I finished building this synth about a month ago, but it still needs a case. These cases can be purchased separately from FCD72 on the Mutable Instruments forum. This synth is by far the most complex Mutable Instruments synthesizer to date. I was fortunate enough to get in on the early Pioneers run of PCB boards which is why I am offering this synth before the official release. This Ambika comes with qty. 6 - 4-Pole voicecards. Included with this synth auction is an AC adapter and 2GB SD card that is loaded with several presets/patches. Insured UPS Ground shipping to the lower 48 US states.

"Up for sale is ROLAND Juno-106 the "classic" analog synthesizer.
Probably one of the best polyphonic analog synths available, sounds great and easy to play. I ran the unit in test mode and it seems like voice chips number 2 and 3 is not working properly and would probably need replacing. I also noticed voice chip number 5 is becoming a bit weak/unstable..."
