Dr Blankenstein Circuit Bent Fender Stratocaster Guitar

Circuit Bent Fender Stratocaster Guitar Demo 2 Published on Oct 22, 2012 by DoctorBlankenstein

http://www.drBlankenstein.com

"This video is of a Modified Fender Stratocaster Guitar. It has Dr. Blankenstein's ILLUMIRINGER Motion Controlled Ring Modulator built directly into the guitar under the pick guard!

I felt (and maybe acted) a bit like the late great crocodile hunter in this video... well that is pretty much how I felt when I plugged this sucker in. Not having any idea what strange sound I was going to be able to produce next, and with each new one (as usual) I grow more excited. What can I say... I seriously love this stuff! haha

This is the video of it's FIRST EVER (I'm too excited to string it) single guitar string demo! Actually that is a good thing to keep in mind while watching it, notice how many octaves I am able to get... the string in the video is a high E string... fretted at G (ahhh who cares, this is a rock n' roll test after all). The point is... make sure to take NOTE.

I will be putting up more videos of this mod, including one with delay and distortion... as well as six strings. This could very well be the first kit to hit http://www.drBlankenstein.com ... I guess it depends on feedback I get... so please make sure to leave comments and subscribe. Thanks for watching! :)"

Custom Moog Modular System 55 For Sale

"Modules Included: 901, 901A, 3-901B, 4-902, 903, 2-904A, 904B, 907A, 4-911, 911A, 921, 951, 960, 961CP, 962CP, 984, 991, custom 994 (3x), 2-CP3A, CP4A, upgraded CP8A

This Custom Moog Modular System 55 has two very unique features: Two 904A low pass filters and both the 901 and 921 series oscillators. Having two 904A's greatly expands the flexibility of the sound engine and the addition of the 921 control oscillator adds functionality while maintaining the richness of the sonically superior 901 series. The system also has an upgraded power supply which helps maintain oscillator stability. This synthesizer was not designed to be looked at or used as a fancy minimoog -it was built to be a complete and complex electronic sound machine. $62,000.00 For show in LA, CA. Serious inquires and buyers only contact: info@aisounddesign.com"

Update via 3P in the comments: "Not a 55. Module placement is different, the Moog module logos are Trumansburg/Williamsburg era. And there are no 921 Series oscillators."

And via Unknown in the comments, there's actually a 921 in the system. Top row to the left of the four channel mixer, pictured here to the left.

Update2 via the seller: "What is meant by 'System 55' is basically a main cab with single tier, rather than a 35 which was just the main cab. "Module placement is different" ie "Custom." Looks like a 921 and there are a lot of RA Moog logos. This system is a unique design; a hybrid of multiple generations. Also note that the 962CP is very rare, most module lists don't seem to mention it."

Update3 via Brian in the comments: "Likely NOT delivered from the factory that way. It is what it is, but calling it a System 55 is not correct. The 901 oscillators were discontinued in 1972, when the 921's replaced them. At the time, NO ONE felt the 901s were superior in any way (some of us now think differently). I see a mixture of RAMoog (1960s generally) and Moog Music modules there (1972 and later), too.

Again - any customer could order anything from the factory, but it's highly unlikely this was ordered this way; rather it is built from traded in-out components to make a great system. I'd MUCH prefer to have one like this with both sets of oscillators. All the MAJOR synths by major players were not stock catalog versions, but custom rigs for their needs."

Update4: via Moog1P in the comments: " The bottom cabinet looks to be an early 1C configuration. Every component is there, with the blank panels replaced with the 962CP and 961CP. The placement of the two CP3 mixers would have been to the left, under the 901AB bank and under the 901. At some time the system looks to be upgraded with the installed CP961/962 sequencer components, where the CP blanks were removed, and CP3's moved to the right.

Would be an early 1C as this one has the very first Lexan type lighted flip switchs, only seen on late '67, early'68 models. All the correct lexan switches are there, two sets for the oscillators, and a set for the filter, with trigger/envelope routing, making the cabinet a 1C. The 2C would have 3 CP3 mixers, and the 3C would have 4 CP3 mixers with no CP routing switches, as they were on seperate 1U panels for filter and trigger/envelope.

The module placement above is what you would order any way you wanted. Not uncommon to order a 1C with an extra 901C, and to ommit the 905 reverb to add the 904B high pass filter, direct from the factory. Looks like what we have here. The only other addition to the lower cabinet is the 1U blank replaced with 911A trigger delay. And at some time (definitely not Moog), the removal of the Cinch male S-trigger from the 1/2/3 trigger outputs. (Probably done when the CP3's were moved and 961/962CP added.)

The upper cabinet is an add on, possibly at a later time, but could have been part of the original order. At that time the additional 984 quad mixer, envelopes, VCA's were added. The 960 sequencer, probably added much later, when the bottom CP panels were moved. And much later 921 added. Does not look to me to be a unit made from other Moogs, but rather a 1C with a few add-ons. Everything is there from an early 1C with many period correct additions. Very nice unit, only missing the 905 reverb and 956 ribbon controller. Wouldn't take much to undo those questionable mods to restore this to original specs."

EOWAVE MAGMA Now Available

"Eowave analogue bassline synthesizer with sequencer and memory

After 2 years of development, we're proud to announce the release of the MAGMA, Eowave's new analogue bassline synthesizer with sequencer and memory.

The MAGMA makes you go back into the 80's sounds with sonorities like Eurythmics, Nitzer Ebb, Depeche Mode... The sound engine is inspired from the SH series by Roland, which had this waveform mix and a sequencer. Though, the idea of the MAGMA was not to make a copy of a vintage synth, but to build a new synth with the best of today's analogue and digital technology. We wanted to build a synth with a very specific texture of sound, sounds like the magma, something warm, thick and fat. We've added modern controls and a memory with 256 presets. Presets can be edited with a free editor. USB connection offers MIDI over USB and firmware update of the sequencer.

VCO Section
The MAGMA is monophonic, but with the desync of the sub-oscillator, you could think it has more than one oscillator!!!! The mix between the four waveforms is incredibly versatile and can create infinite variety of sounds.
- Analogue VCO with square saw sub
- Sub can be 1 or 2 octaves below the master freq.
- A mixer allows to freely mix the four waveforms for infinite sound designs. The VCO can be modulated by LFO and env3.
- Variable glide

Filter section
The filter is a 24 dB low-pass filter also inspired from classical filters from the 80s. It's full analogue and can be modulated by env2, KB, lfo. An external audio with a trimmer allows to feed the filter.

Envelope section
- 3 envelopes:
1 envelope for the pitch (AD),
1 envelope for the filter (ADSR),
1 envelope for the VCA (ADSR)

VCA section
The full analogue VCA is affected to env1. 2 envelopes ADSR modulate respectively the amplitude and the filter. Attack goes from 2ms to 10s.

LFOs section
Two LFO with 8 waveforms (triangle, ramp up, ramp down, square, random, digital noise, staircase up, staircase down)

Sequencer
Like on the SH series, the MAGMA has a sequencer. It's a 16 step sequencer with LED.
- 4 rows: 1 row controls gates and notes.
- 3 other rows are freely assignable to any parameter of the front panel.
Recent addition: We added Swing and shuffle per note.

Memory
The MAGMA is one of the only analogue synth with memory. You can recall 256 presets.

Connections

Usb (for software update and MIDI in&out)

The MAGMA is made in France. All units are mounted, checked and tuned by Eowave."

psyGEN Granular Multilayer Synthesizer Released

"psyGEN is a granular multilayer synthesizer using samples as source for unique sound generation in the creation of experimental ambient soundscapes, drones, special effects, as well as more traditional synthesizer sounds.

psyGEN comes with approximately 330 samples that can used in the creation of new patches or the user can import their own sample files. Sources can be anything from field recordings, voice recordings, or sounds from other sample sources or synthesizers. There is no limit to what can be used and like all M-RGT synthesizers, experimentation is highly recommended.

psyGEN also provides a 16 track sequencer with up to 64 steps for each track. Each track is essentially a separate synthesizer that can be played back in sync with the other tracks. Mini compositions can be made with one just one sequencer patch, dovetailing these tracks together and applying separate Modulation to each track."

This one comes in recommended via Brian Comnes:

"pretty amazing granular synth tool - you can sequence polyphonous voices within one note on, i.e. the longer you hold the note you can control the layering

comes with a whole bunch of pre-sets - hours of fun - Support Boris!!!"

MarcMarc TD Cross Generator - The only unit in existence

Note: Auction links are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.
via this auction

"Some years ago the Dutch artist and engineer MarcMarc designed and built by hand a sound device / synthesizer which was a complete breakthough in the scene of electronic music, synthesizers and unusual sound generators: the TD Cross Generator. As it offered so many new and unusual features, completely analogue design, am impressive sound quality and a price hardly anybody could afford (about $25'000.-), the Internet community was all over it. There are several sites that have listed the item in a very complementious way like "The Most Beautiful Thing Ever. MarcMarc TD Cross Generator". You can still find some of them when searching for "TD cross generator".

By a very lucky coincidence (such things aren't bought by an order from you favorite music gear retailer) I was able to aquire it - I could honestly hardly believe it. Yes, there was a learning curve but believe it or not, MarcMarc wrote a dedicated manual for this very device! You find it easily when searching for "marc marc cross generator manual". This shows how much passion and dedication the artist put into this device. The manual describes every section, feature and control.

Soon I mastered the unit and was able to put it in good use for several experimental music projects. The connectivity open worlds of possibilities and allows for further interfacing with other equiment - be it modular systems, guitar FX pedals, external filter etc. The cross modulations which gave the unit its name are incredibly cool and inspiring!

As such a unique device derserves, I used it in my studio only, it was never used live. Applying most care, I used it with filtered current only (Equitech) and took care to keep it clean.

After using it for years, I decided it's time to pass it on to the next lucky owner. I got in touch with MarcMarc to confirm this with him, get his ok and ensure a smooth transition and future maintenance. He's a very nice, kind and handsome guy.

So here it is now, the one and only MarcMarc TD Cross Generator in existence goes to its next owner. Chances are that institutions may aquire it (and hopefully actively use it) since it's not only an ingenious musical instrument, but also a piece of art and one of the pinnacles of conception and implementation of analog electronics for music purposes. This unit might be a unique completion of an existing collection of MarcMarc art"

"SCHALTWERK is the most sophisticated trigger sequencer ever released to the market. For years it has been extremely hard to find as it has been proven to withstand the teeth of time and is in use regularly in high profile electronic music studios cross the globe. The feature set, blinken lights and the sheer size of this unit make them mere mortals moan in awe!

Sequentix P3 analogue sequencer

Note: Auction links are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.
via this auction

"Sequentix - P3 Sequencer

P3 provides everything you ever wanted to have in a analog style sequencer but the most inspirational feature (for me personally) with the P3 are the super deep algorithmic compositional and sequencing features that provide you with absolutely fantastic possibilities to make evolving melodic and rhythmic patterns that never seem to repeat. Its like having a full fledged free jazz band at your disposal but you have the knob to control how much they improvise! You can have the lead notes be stolen or swapped by the bass notes or mental drum hits muted and repeated and affected by any and all of the other patterns. It is crazy! And the best thing is that when you switch a pattern you completely change the behavior of the track by introducing a full new set of rules. It is like a max msp algorithmic composing environment in a self contained box! Also when making music with the P3 you become lighting fast in it and are really able immerse yourself with the machine.

This particular unit is in MINT condition, never gigged and has had a home in a smoke free studio. The surface contains absolutely no scratches, dents or unwanted marks of any kind. All pots and switches feel like brand new. Rack mounting kit is also included yet not pictured.

This unit is a factory built by Sequentix. Some P3 units have had problems with the scree failing and going dead. The screen in this unit has been upgraded and works flawlessly!

The unit features the latest V4.5 operating system (a major revision!) that add tons of user friendly features well beyond the capabilities of the original P3.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

FEATURES:

The P3 Sequencer is an 8 track, hardware MIDI sequencer, with a user interface comprised of knobs, keys and LEDs. A sixteen character by two line PLED display provides confirmation of pattern data and access to advanced features and configuration options.

P3 allows real-time control of track mutes and simple pattern or pattern chain selection across multiple tracks, plus analogue-style editing of patterns. Each of its 384 patterns has independent values for note, velocity, tie, gate, length, gate delay, and a combination of up to four MIDI controllers, extra notes, or 'auxiliary events', per step.

P3's unique auxiliary events allow the creation of dynamically self-modifying patterns. They can grab values from other tracks, randomizes steps, alter track and global settings, and much more. There are three modulation 'accumulators' per track, that can be used as LFOs, perform arpeggiation effects or enable complex pattern progressions.
Furthermore, you can assign front panel knobs to modify or mask these events in real-time, allowing you to create interactive patterns that change predictably as you adjust the knobs - varying in complexity, controlling levels of randomness, even 'morphing' from one pattern to another.

A Force-to-scale option provides preset and user-defined scales to keep everything in key (but defeat-able per pattern step if required), and a configurable 'change mode' allows patterns with different lengths and/or time-bases to free-run, or be synced to a global bar.

"The flagship Roland keyboard of the 80s. 16 analog oscillators at 2 per voice with a fantastic 8 voice polyphony. Almost as ubiquitous in today's synthesizer based resurgence as it was back in its hayday. It really is a synth that has to be sonically experienced in person to be believed.

This particular unit was produced late in the production run where many gremlins found in the earlier versions had been addressed. The serial number (413xxx) signifies it to be the desirable 14-bit DAC model. This late model also features all of the factory mods up to and including the DCB port. As with all unmodified Roland Jupiter 8's, this model does not have MIDI."
