via the listing/seller: "Up for sale is the ULTRA RARE Moog Minitmoog Preset Synthesizer... NOT VERY MANY UNITS WERE MADE & TO MY KNOWLEDGE ACCORDING FROM OTHER SOURCES ONLY ABOUT 10 UNITS ARE FULLY WORKING PROPERLY WORLDWIDE... Why..?? Because of the "Variable Capacitance" Touch Sensor Bar or After Touch Mechanism is not like any other synthesizer's after touch mechanisms. This one is based on a simple variable capacitance set up by the use of a semi-conductive material which is extremely hard to find and obviously in ALL of the Minitmoogs around the world have failed because that semi-conductive material has ceased to work because of the aging chemical reaction between all the other materials involved & the semi-conductive material. But I managed to source all the parts and materials needed exactly as it was used by the Moog Factory back then... Note to add up to this, I have owned several synthesizers with after touch most of them by variable resistance, etc but no other mechanism responds as neatly as this one with variable capacitance... Read later why...

Doepfer Dark Energy Mk I vs Mk II

Published on Dec 19, 2012 by AudioCentralMagazine

"A quick comparison between Doepfer Dark Energy Mk I (CEM-based, just lopass w. lin fm) and Mk II (state variable filter, discrete circuit, etc.). Both machines under the same CV/Gate control from Dark Time step sequencer (courtesy of a bunch of multiples...). Mk I is panned more on Left audio channel; Mk II is more on Right audio channel. When they plays together, its a real GAS!!! :-)"

MIDIbox SammichSID Patch Demo

Published on Dec 19, 2012 by piamuk

"TITLE TYPO: It's 2 6851 SID Chips. Oops.

Demo of most of the stock patches. The Right Channel SID has a dead Oscillator (OSC 1), so the patches are not going to sound exact, but close enough. Couple of things to note, the loud pop when changing patches is the nature of the beast. Also the VCA bleed is inherent in all SID chips.

Effects used: Electro Harmonix Cathedral, Moog Moogerfooger MF-104M Analog Delay.

MARK JENKINS "EX1GENE" CD Composed on Yamaha EX1

MARK JENKINS "EX1GENE" (AMP-CD060)

MARK JENKINS has released his latest CD “EX1GENE”, performed entirely on the giant triple keyboard Yamaha EX1 synthesizer, the theatre version of the GX1 played by Keith Emerson (ELP), Stevie Wonder, Led Zeppelin and Hans Zimmer.

The CD which features nine tracks including a cover of Henry Mancini’s Emmy and Grammy award-winning “Peter Gunn” theme as played by ELP, plus sound samples for musicians to create their own EX1 textures, is available worldwide through Amazon, selected mail order outlets, and direct from Mark’s website.

"After recording the world's first CD created entirely on an Apple iPad, which must be about the smallest synthesiser system available, I thought it would be fun to create an album entirely using one of the largest", Mark explains. The CD features music in the styles of Jean-Michel Jarre, Tangerine Dream, Klaus Schulze, Ashra, Cluster and the other "Berlin School" musicians, as well as ambient/world pieces more comparable to the music of Brian Eno, and of course that storming prog rock cover of Henry Mancini's "Peter Gunn" theme which became a favourite in the Emerson, Lake and Palmer live set.

The album also features the voice of poet Walter De La Mare, and one of the tracks was assembled retrospectively from EX1 sound samples which are also included on the CD for other musicians to create their own EX1 textures. "As an all-analog synth the EX1 has some great rich synth sounds, huge pedal basses and classic drum machine patterns, and it's great to be able to make some of these available to other musicians".

"EX1GENE" is now available worldwide. Since the EX1 weighs 485 pounds, Mark promises he will be sticking to iPads for concert performances...

"Musix Pro is the most innovative app for performing music. Music theory is baked right in through the use of a technique called isomorphic note layouts. Novices learn to play in minutes, and professionals benefit from built-in harmonic relationships between notes. Unlike other music apps, Musix Pro provides a wide range of octaves, scales, keys, chords and modes, without limiting your creativity. With multiple built-in instruments and support for OSC and Core/Virtual Midi, most existing synthesizers work beautifully with Musix Pro as a controller.

Traditional musical instruments are difficult to learn because notes are arranged based on physical constraints. Musix Pro arranges notes based on their harmonic and musical relationships instead, allowing shapes and patterns to emerge that unlock the mathematical beauty of music.

What do people say about Musix Pro?

"Anyone who loves music, regardless of skill level, owes it to themselves to experience Musix. Simply exploring the app will open musical doors you never knew existed." - 148apps.com

"Musix is a Killer App!" - apps4idevices.com

See Musix Pro in action: http://www.youtube.com/shiverware

Why Musix Pro:

- Learn how to play every major and minor chord in minutes
- Play along with your favourite song without practicing for years
- Learn one pattern and instantly play in any key
- Explore the harmonic relationships between notes
- Play along with your friends without being an expert
- Realize your own personal musicality

What is Musix Pro:

- The easiest way to play music
- A professional musical instrument and midi controller
- A music theory learning tool
- An isomorphic layout creator and experimentation app
- A melody exploration device

Features:

- Core/Virtual Midi, OSC
- 8 Built-in instruments (2 New)
- Hexagonal and Rectangular layouts
- Multiple built-in note arrangements
- Custom layout generation and saving
- Colourize different notes based on key, scale, and mode
- Label notes based on Solfege, or Note name
- Multiple note sizes
- Multiple color patterns
- Note Overlap (play 3-note chords with one finger)
- Retina Support
- Full iPhone Support

Works as a controller for:
- SampleWiz
- NLog Synth Pro
- Arctic Keys
- SampleTank
- Sunrizer
- MidiBridge
- Many other apps and devices

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Musix Pro is key agnostic, which means is that once you have learned a musical pattern (like a chord or a scale) that pattern is the same for all keys, even the dreaded A-Flat! Sharps and flats appear in the right place automatically, through the mathematical magic of isomorphism. You can learn to play melodies on a traditional keyboard by playing them on Musix Pro and watching where the sharps and flats go.

Songwriters benefit by discovering new melodies and musical relationships. Novices find it easy to learn to play. Experienced musicians are rewarded with an intuitive interface. Keys can be resized to fit your style - start with "epic"-sized keys, and as you get better you can shrink the keys fill the screen with notes.

Isomorphic keyboards are found on traditional and new instruments, from concertinas, accordions, and "jammers" to Janko keyboards, harmonic-table devices and more. Musix Pro is the only way to access all isomorphic note arrangements in one powerful customizable application.

Musix Pro comes with a set of built-in layouts, each with its own pros and cons. The harmonic table layout allows you to play any major chord by touching three hexes with one finger. Wicki-Hayden makes modulating between pentatonic scales a breeze. Try them all and find one that works for you.

Musix Pro allows you to change the colour of the notes in your layout. You can colour the notes white and black like a piano; you can colour the notes of any scale or mode (like D-flat mixolidian) and you can colour notes based on tone centre. Notes can be labeled with movable or fixed solfege or with the traditional note name (spelled based on the key and mode)."

Analog Crafstman ULTRAgristleizer Demo

Published on Dec 19, 2012 by boothnavy

"A special edition custom build for a customer in Holland. We added a digital noise source that is selectable as the modulator of the VCF/VCA on the Gristleizer. It also has its own controls for an external clock input and cv of the noise rate. There is a separate noise output that can be fed back into the various inputs of the Grsitelizer. I easily spent an hour just trying all the crazy combinations this one has."
