Filterbank study

Filterbank study from Peter Speer on Vimeo.

"Processing the modular (Echophon Clock output) through a Max patch, then processing the Max patch through the modular (Z-DSP (Stereo Ping Pong delay program)), all controlled with a Korg nanoKontrol.

The Max patch is a bank of "reson~" objects, divided into values taken from the Buchla 296e, Serge Resonant EQ, Moog 914a, ADDAC VC Fixed Filterbank, Moog/Bode Vocoder and EMS 3000 Vocoder units, and features both manual and automated control over each band's amplitude (displayed as sliders).

The patch is mono in/stereo out, with each band alternating between the left and right outputs.

Korg Monotron Acid Track - CV Mod Demo

Published on Feb 6, 2013

"Here is a track that I made using the Korg Monotron analog synth for tweaked acid style basslines. All synth sounds are from my modified monotron, using the CV pitch and gate points on the circuit board. I programmed the basslines into MIDI in Pro Tools, and used my PAIA Fatman synth as the MIDI to CV converter. Drums and other samples were programmed in Pro Tools, and the monotron tweaking was recorded live."

The dotcom is going through a Moogerfooger MF104-M Analog Delay, a Boss CEB-3 Bass Chorus and an Electro-Harmonix Cathedral Stereo Reverb Pedal. After it was recorded I EQ'd it a bit and ran compressed/limited it with Waves VComp, which a fantastic VST by the way."

New KRAKKEN v1.2 "Dark side"

via AtomoSynth on Facebook and the AtomoSynth blog where you'll find more pics.

"New!! KRAKKEN v1.2 "Dark side"

Let's play a solo!!!

The AtomoSynth Krakken is a super compact 100% analog synthesizer, carefully hand made with all discrete components as in the old vintage synthesizers which gives you a big and powerful sound with lots of character.

You can play it directly with the built in 2 octave keyboard and octave up and down shift buttons, it is perfect if you like a compact set up of small analog boxes!!!

Connect it by MIDI to a keyboard, sequencer or to your DAW and use it as an analog sound module and add that "punch" or "physicalness" of analog sound to your proyects.

Also you can control other analog gear with the built in 12 bit MIDI to CV converter.

Create weird electronic sounds, brilliant leads, acid bass lines or make noise and change the sound in real time by tweaking the knobs on stage or in studio.

Now built like a tank!!! in a rugged black metal case with all switchers and potentiometers fixed to the case."

Live Improvisation (test for my future album) NightBirds 06.02.2013

Published on Feb 6, 2013

* RSF Kobol (analog mono) : solo d'improvisation.

Casio’s XW-P1 Performance Synthesizer wins Two Awards

"CASIO’S XW-P1 PERFORMANCE SYNTHESIZER KICKS OFF 2013 ON A HIGH NOTE WITH TWO INDUSTRYAWARDS
XW-P1 Receives Electronic Musician’s 2013 Editors’ Choice Award and The Music & Sound Retailer’s Best New Keyboard Award of 2012

DOVER, NJ (February 5, 2013) – Casio America, Inc. is proud to announce that its XW-P1 Performance Synthesizer is the recipient of two prestigious awards – Electronic Musician’s “2013 Editors’ Choice Awards for Affordable Synth Awesomeness” and The Music & Sound Retailer “Best Keyboard and Sound Module Award of 2012.”Both publications highlight the most innovative products and latest technological developments in the music industry.

“We are honored to announce at Winter NAMM, the show where last year our performance synthesizers came to life, that the XW-P1 has been presented with not one, but two prominent awards,” said Stephen Schmidt, vice president of Casio’s Electronic Musical Instruments Division. “Casio is thrilled with the response we have received over the past year throughout the music industry and we look forward to continuing to deliver electronic musical instruments that meet musicians’ wants and needs.”

For the past twenty years, Electronic Musician has been reviewing the year’s most innovative products in its Editors’ Choice Awards. Winners are selected by the magazine’s editors who research reviews, product releases, show reports and forum posts throughout the review period. Out of hundreds of potential nominees, Casio’s XW-P1 was one of 30 selected award winners and ultimately declared an “awesome” and “affordable” synthesizer. Editors from Electronic Musician noted, “Bold, original, clever, and definitely not ‘me-too’ synths, the XW showed that Casio is back in the synth game with a vengeance.”

Casio’s XW-P1 Synthesizer was also nominated for the Best Keyboard and Sound Module of 2012 by The Music & Sound Retailer. At Winter NAMM 2013, The Music & Sound Retailer announced that Casio had been declared an award winner. According to Dan Ferrisi, editor of The Music & Sound Retailer, “the Casio XW-P1 received the award due to the voting of the top music industry retailers making it a very prestigious award to receive.” For this award process, dealers and manufacturers vote for one another based on their respective categories. Casio’s XW-P1 received a great number of endorsements from dealers nationwide.

The XW-P1 Performance Synthesizer is now available at music dealers nationwide for an MSRP of $699.00. To view the XW-P1 review from Electronic Musician, please visit www.emusician.com. To view the XW-P1 review from The Music & Sound Retailer, please visit www.msretailer.com.

"This auction is for 2 vintage original EMS modules. Very rare units that used to be sold as accessoires to the Synthi AKS and VCS3 synthesizers but can be used with other (modular) synths and studio environments. Creative tools derived from the infamous Synthi 100 studio synthesizer. These 2 work well and have been gone over by a pro tech about a year ago. Super. Worth to mention is that the front panels have been filed off a few milimeters at the left and right ends. Probably to make them fit in better a rack. As you can see in the pictures this is not visible when rack mounted. The case is included as well as an original EMS connection multi cable to hook it up to your Synthi or VCS3(!)..."

"The Monomachine SFX-60+ MKII is the ultimate sound generator. Five different synthesis methods plus sequencing make it the mixed martial artist of synthesizers.

Each of the six Monomachine tracks is loaded with sound shaping devices. At your command is a tape style delay, a resonant multi mode filter, a sample rate reducer, a distortion effect, an arpeggiator and no less than three LFO’s – per track. The sound palette is limitless.

Despite the depth of the Monomachine it is very easy to use. Every parameter is close at hand and no confusing menus are in your way. Everything is laid out in a logical and usable manner. This is particularly useful when you perform live and don’t want to press the wrong buttons.

A special MIDI mode gives you control of six dedicated MIDI tracks. Use the versatile arpeggiators and all the other special sequencer features to take MIDI sequencing to the next level. The Monomachine is a given centre piece in any studio.

You can upload your own customized waveforms and use them in the Monomachine environment. This, plus the ability to treat sound incoming through the two external inputs using the special FX machines, makes the Monomachine a sound designer’s dream come true.

The Monomachine SFX-60+ MKII comes equipped with a +Drive by default. With a +Drive there is no risk of running out of storage space. Over 16'000 patterns, 16'000 kits and 8'000 waveforms can be internally stored.

Man and machine have never been closer to each other!

Features

6 track sequencer
5 mono synths
16384 patterns
3072 songs
16384 kits
8192 user waveforms
18 LFO's
6 dedicated MIDI tracks

"A short demonstration of the basic functions of the AniModule Voltage Controlled Scanner/Switch"

via this auction

"AniModule VCSS (Voltage Controlled Scanner/Switch)

8hp ~ 40mm deep
This Module has 4 inputs and 1 output.
The inputs accept Bipolar signals (audio) OR DC (CVs).
The input channel routed to the output is selected by the voltage patched to either the DC or the AC jack.
The Offset pot allows you to adjust the offset of the incoming CVs.
The DC jack has an attenuator to allow you to scale the CVs.
The AC jack is scaled for ~10Vp-p.
This module will function properly all the way into super sonic frequencies.

I’ve had fun by patching the LP,BP,HP and Notch outs of my SOB into the four inputs and VC’ing the VCSS with a sine wave running at the same rate as the square wave I have patched in to the SOB Input.

So for every ON/OFF of the Square Wave, the VCSS cycles through LP,BP,HP,Notch,HP,BP,LP

You might think about patching 4 sequencers in to it and VC’ing it with a Sample and Hold or Logic, for an ever-evolving melody…"
