KOUSHION PADS for iOS V 1.2

What's New in Version 1.2:

* Fixed a bug with the "Apply to All" channel button
* Added a tutorial screen
*Added a feedback button, so that customers can easily report issues from within the app"

App details:
Pad-based controllers such as the MPC have become a ubiquitous fixture in electronic music setups worldwide. So, why would you want another? Koushion: MIDI Pads adds a new twist to the popular controller by adding a key lock feature and programmable pads.

The key lock feature empowers you to improvise with a larger range of pitches by removing those that are not in the desired key. If locking yourself to one key sounds a bit too limiting, but you want to reach a few notes that are out of the 16-pad range, or even if you just want a custom controller layout, each pad can be edited independently to trigger a different note. Once you've found a custom layout that you like, you can easily save it for future use.

**NOTE: Pads only generates MIDI (NOT audio), and therefore will not work in the background. Pads does work with background audio apps via virtual MIDI.

**Windows Users: A third party has developed a CoreMIDI network driver for Windows called rtpMIDI, which will allow you to use Koushion: Pads wirelessly with your PC. You can download rtpMIDI here: http://www.tobias-erichsen.de/rtpMIDI.html

Key Features:
* 16 easy-to-tap pads in a familiar MPC-style layout
* Key lock: with the flick of a finger, you can lock the pads to any major, minor, or pentatonic scale
* Programmable layout: every pad can be re-assigned to any MIDI note/channel
* Automatic integration with other apps via CoreMIDI virtual ports. Open up a synth in the background and Koushion: Pads will trigger the notes!

Connectivity:
Pads connects to your existing MIDI hardware via the Apple iPad Camera Connection Kit or the iRig MIDI from IK Multimedia. Wireless connectivity via CoreMIDI Network Sessions.

**NOTE: Using WiFi may cause latency issues. We strongly recommend using cables for optimum performance.

"This is an early version of the Midimoog made by Studio Electronics.. this one uses an original minimoog d boards (the old osc board) and filter. It sounds really great.. Basically a minimoog in a rack with a bunch of features you don't get in the original like osc sync, multi-triggering, velocity/aftertouch routing etc. The best of both worlds between the real vintage minimoog sound, and features that bring it into modern times."

From Tony "There will be a button, like on ARCADE, to activate the reset on the RCD. The clock inputs will be normaled with a switching jack so one clock input can control both sides. Inserting a second clock will break the normalization. I can normalize the rotate input, too, if you desire."

Handmade Analog Synth with Light Bulb Strobe

Published on Apr 9, 2013 Kyle Evans·110 videos

via this auction

"This is a very unique handmade analog synth with a circuit bent sound. In addition to the 4 photocells that modulate 2 oscillators depending on light, there is a built-in light bulb socket with strobe control and dimmer. The light can be adjusted from always on to rapid fire strobing effects, giving the possibility for drone or rhythmic control. This thing has a very wide range of potential sounds and the strobe adds another level making this a head spinning audio/visual performance instrument. Awesome for studio of live. The synth is housed in a very old card catalog metal case and has been fitted with a custom wood insert to house the controls and light socket. Using different light bulbs gives very different results; traditional incandescent bulbs have a smoother on/off switching and more control over brightness adjustment with the dimmer, while compact florescent bulbs have a sharp and stuttery on/off switching and a glitchy polyrhythmic reaction to the dimmer. Experiment with all different kinds! Process the sounds through effects like reverb, delays, filters, or distortion for even more crazy possibilities.

NOTE: This synth does NOT come with a bulb, but any standard sized light bulb will work. You can find the cool classic style bulbs at hardware stores like Home Depot or Lowes."

"Here is a demo I made of my Polivoks before selling on ebay to demonstrate the functionality. You can also get a feel for the sound, as I have recorded the audio discretely. No effects, compression, or reverb, AS ALL GEAR DEMO'S SHOULD BE"

via this auction

"For sale: recently serviced and upgraded Formanta Polivoks analog mono synth.

This synth works perfectly and has been professionally tuned and calibrated. While it was in the shop, I also had them put in a typical US power supply and 3 prong IEC power cable. The 200V transformer will be included in the sale. It has also been given the CV/Gate update so you can use it with CV converter. The back plate, which covers the CV/gate mod, will be included. It has been tuned here, but it may need tuning when it arrives safely at your home. The outer shell will come with this, but it is not as pristine as the keyboard is. It will ship in its protective case though. There were a few opamps that were replaced, as the noise wasn't working well. Also, OSC2 had issues with the Saw/Tri wave. This was fixed with parts close enough to the original specs. The only issue with the keyboard is that when left on longer than about 20 hours, it doesn't make a sound anymore. Turning it off and on again brings it right back though, so I don't consider this a real issue.

This Polivoks, unlike most I've seen, has still got nearly white keys. A lot of the older ones have yellowed keys. Cosmetically, I would give this an 8 out of 10, for minor dings and scratches, but everything is intact and works perfectly. This is one of the few of these that has made it stateside and is in this condition. As you can see and hear, it sounds like a monster, unlike any synth I've ever had--- and I've had most of them!"

"Thornoscillator is used as a fuzz guitar but also the oscillation, and match very well, connect a synthesizer or rhythm machine and multi-effects fuzz noise oscillation rate can also be used separately as a noise machine thornoscillator.

Stacked wall of noise distortion itself is important, from fine grains or dust storms of fuzz, oscillation and noise sound is a struggle most comprehensive MASF. [Volume] [character] [freq] [sens] in control of exactly what is wrong is no name, and it is usually different from the way we listen to their own. [Volume] has a volume control or more roles, [caracter] [sens] will issue a combination of many things that look, it [freq] can be changed significantly.

Also by linking the effects thornoscillator else just changes the character of the thornosicllator is hard. For example, set to leave the state without oscillation thornoscillator, explode or oscillate as if the entire system and turn on the oscillation of the effects connected to the former, and in some cases can become a funny sound input source Select the sound produced by the operation are endless."

Earthquaker Devices Rainbow Machine Polyphonic Pitch Mesmerizer

via this auction

"Welcome to the Rainbow Machine, in all it’s synthetic glory! This one is for experimenters, adventurists and noisemakers. Totally not for purists and/or tone hounds, there are no “natural sounds” that will come from this box. It takes modern DSP and uses it as a tool of future past to create real time pitch shifting using digital oscillators. The sound is much different than most modern day pitch shifting devices. It was imagineered to be wild and out of control and slightly imperfect while still tracking up and down the guitar neck without glitching out. A cold digital beast made to pretend it has feelings. It will do basic polyphonic harmonies from a 4th down through a 3rd up and every atonal pitch in between. You may add in an accompanying octave to the harmony by bringing up the Secondary function control. You can take it way beyond and open up your third eye by bringing in the Magic. The Magic is the heart of the Rainbow Machine. In conjunction with the Tracking control, the Magic creates wild pitch take offs and descend’s, chaos chorusing, shrieks, pixie trails and wealth of other general mayhem inducing noises. The pitch can be controled by an external expression pedal for extra fun! The Rainbow Machine can be used on bass, keys, vocals or anything else you can dream up!

Expression Pedal
We recommend the Moog Expression pedal for the

Controls
Pitch - This controls the pitch of the harmony. All the way counter clockwise is a 4th down, all the way clockwise is a 3rd up. The middle position is unison. The pitch can be controlled by an expression pedal as well.

Exp - This is an expression pedal control jack for the pitch. The Pitch control is defeated when an expression pedal is inserted.

Primary - This controls the volume of the Primary pitch shifted signal. Unity is about 2 o'clock, anything above will boost the signal.

Secondary - This controls the volume of the secondary pitch shifted signal. The Secondary signal is one octave above the Primary from noon up and one octave below from noon back. Unity is about 2 o'clock, anything above will boost the signal.

Tracking - This controls the amount of lag time between the direct dry signal and the shifted wet signal. The pitch shifted signal will track right on the dry signal when this control is all the way clockwise. It will start to lag behind the more it is reduced. This function is especially useful when the "Magic" is engaged.

Magic - This adjusts the "weirdness" of the effect. The end result is a wide variety of wild effects depending on where the other controls are set. The magic control will only work if the magic switch is engaged and the primary and/or secondary are in use. (Technically, it's a regeneration control that creates aliasing between a mix of the primary and secondary functions feeding back against each other).

Tone - All the way clockwise is full signal, reduce to soften the highs.

Jomox T-Resonator

Note: Auction links are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.
via this auction

"The T-Resonator transforms timely events into an analog feedbacked filter network.

The T-Resonator is something like an M-Resonator + Digital Delay. But you can select 8 different delay algorithms, each with different delays and different feedbacks and modulate them even with an LFO.

Delays reach from less than a millisecond to 1 second, range and structure is depending on the algorithm. The delay feedback comes across the analog filters, of course.

You can create gaining analog echoes, "klingon parties" by extremely feedbacked wave guide algorithm and much more. By the analog feedback everything sounds organic. The screaming analog feedbacks can delay themselves and thereby form new sound patterns.

The sine LFO gets retriggered by the audio signal and can be shaped with the audio envelope or just run alone. In center position the amount is 0, to the left it's envelope-shaped LFO, to the right it's only LFO.

The filters are made from discreet parts and form a 24 dB pole lowpass filter transistor cascade.

They can - in any thinkable way - be self feedbacked and be coupled or feedbacked with each other, so that extreme sounds and chaotic states create - all what you need today for creative analog sound design.

Incredible bass gains or screaming scratch sounds are no problem. The mix pots are zeroed in center position; any other angle will couple or feedback negatively or positively. FM in both directions is also available.

The input has an adjustable gain and a Hi-Z input to plug in a guitar directly. Any line level signal can be processed, be it either mono or stereo.

Update: press release below.

"We are excited to announce our new partnership with Paxahau, the Detroit based producer of the Movement Electronic Music Festival and Detroit Jazzfest. Our two companies are coming together to co-produce Moogfest 2014 taking place April 25 - 27, 2014 in Asheville, North Carolina. Moogfest is the annual festival created by Moog that celebrates the innovative spirit of our founder, Dr. Bob Moog.
The iconic synthesizer manufacturer has been quietly re-tooling its 9-year strong festival to better reflect Moog’s culture of creativity, technology, and musical innovation. Mike Adams, President of Moog Music, has always been committed to keeping the festival in Asheville, but wanted to see it evolve. "We set out to find a new partner with a real understanding of the dynamic history of electronic music, and that has a deep appreciation for the impact Bob Moog's inventions have had on musical expression and creation. After working with them for three years on their festival in Detroit, we knew Paxahau was the right choice to help us take Moogfest 2014 in the direction we envision," said Adams.

each filter is is controlled by a LFO that is reset with the MFB seq02

this is a monster !!!
txt: on the back of the unit has quotes from the MATRIX

" - you have taken the blue pill
welcome to the real world ...
everything that has a beginning has an end
WAKE UP, NEO!"

Outside, the AFG presents the user with extensive panel controls for maximum flexibility and usability... inside, the pure analogue circuitry adheres to a strict design philosophy rooted in mid-1970s technology and construction techniques.
Features
8 simultaneous waveform outputs
A total of 27 distinct waveforms are possible
Sub-octave with switchable square or sawtooth waveforms
Unique Animated Pulse & Alien Saw waveforms
Programmable 'Natural' or 'Laboratory' sine wave modes
Alternate waveform set is activated on all outputs simultaneously with Matter/Anti-Matter switch
Select between 2 different Anti-Matter waveform sets via pcb jumper
9 CV inputs, each with dedicated attenuators, with the exception of the two 1v/oct inputs
2 FM inputs, both switchable between linear & exponential
Dedicated sync in/out
Harmonic Animation
The Harmonic Animation section of the AFG controls the harmonic content of the Animated Pulses & Alien Saws waveforms.
The Animated Pulses waveform is synthesized by four control parameters, each having a manual adjustment knob and CV input with dedicated attenuator:
Positive Pulse Width Modulation (+PWM) --
controls the width of the two pulses on the top (or positive) side of the waveform
Negative Pulse Width Modulation (-PWM) --
controls the width of the two pulses on the bottom (or negative) side of the waveform
Positive Phase Position Modulation (+PPM) --
controls the relative phase position of the two positive pulses (in relation to each other)
Negative Phase Position Modulation (-PPM) -- Ã
controls the relative phase position of the two negative pulses (in relation to each other)
The Alien Saws output is a bizarre, multi-toothed saw waveform that is derived from the Animated Pulses waveform. It's harmonic content is also synthesized by the four control parameters of the Harmonic Animation section, but in different and more enigmatic ways.

Expandability
The Livewire Audio Frequency Generator is designed with expandability in mind. There are currently 3 new modules in the works, which are intended to further expand upon the AFG's sound shaping capabilities:
X-Mod Controller
Provides 4 channels of fully routable cross-modulation between 2 AFGs... 2 channels in each direction. Each channel features manually or voltage controlled modulation depth.
Audio Compositor
Enables the user to coalesce harmonics from all 8 of the AFG's output waveforms into a single mono or 2 stereo outputs. Eight channels of bi-polar, voltage controlled mixing determine amplitude & panning of each waveform in the stereo outputs or amplitude & phase inversion in the mono output."

"The Mini Wave is a wavetable lookup type module that features 256 different waveforms stored in a digital memory arranged as sixteen “Banks” with sixteen “Waves” for each Bank. The selection of Wave and Bank is voltage controlled.
Each waveform consists of 256 samples or steps that are output by decoding an input voltage or waveform. Using a sawtooth input wave, the samples are output in sequential order, with the frequency tracking the input signal. Using a more complex input waveform allows for non sequential sample output with a more “distortion box” feel. A slow speed input waveform allows complex envelope or LFO type signals to be output. The Mini Wave can also be used as a quantizer, processing control voltage inputs to only output specific steps of control voltage."

"The Malekko Wiard series of modules offer the same great sound, ergonomics, musicality, and quality that made the Wiard 300 series legendary at a fraction of the cost and size in Eurorack modular format.

The Borg is a versatile audio processor. The concept comes from a marriage of two divergent influences, the Buchla 292 Low Pass Gate and the Korg MS20 filter.

The Borg is different from most filters in that, at its heart, is a vactrol. Vactrols are combination light sensor/light resistors that possess interesting sonic traits. Often described as rubbery or smooth in quailty, vactrols are also know for their relatively slow response. This response creates a natural, very musical decay. In Low Pass Gate (LPG) mode, the Borg will act as a filter and a VCA simultaneously. in combination with the characteristic vactrol response, this creates a signature sound that is desired amongst many synth enthusiasts, especially when used with very short, percussive patches.

But the Borg is no one-trick pony, and LPGs are not for every patch. When the resonance knob is turned on with a click, the Borg becomes a 12db filter with loads of personality. Gorgeous resonance, influenced by the MS20 and shaped by the vactrol design swells from subtle warmth, to a roaring howl that is unique to the Borg!

A continuously adjustable low pass to high pass control is provided (a notch filter is a mix of these two). There are two audio inputs, and two CV frequency inputs (one with attenuation). Two outputs are provided, output 2 has a slightly more aggressive resonance. Removing a jumper on the back of the Borg makes the resonance scream even more!

The Borg is 12hp wide, 25mm deep, and consumes approximately 35mA power."

Moog Moogerfooger MF-107 FreqBox SN 2797

Note: Auction links are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.
via this auction

"The MF-107 FreqBox is different from other effects - the effected sound is not a processed version of your input signal, but the sound of the input signal modulating an internal oscillator. It contains a VCO with continuously variable waveshape, and the capacity to modulate that Oscillator in the following ways:

- the VCO can be hard synced by the input signal
- The VCO can be frequency modulated (FM) by the input signal
- The VCO frequency can be modulated by an envelope follower which tracks the dynamics of the input signal
- The Amplitude of the VCO also tracks the dynamics of the input signal

Hard sync is a classic analog synthesis technique where the start of an oscillator's cycle can be reset by another. The oscillator being synced takes on the frequency characteristics of the other oscillator, and when its frequency is swept, it reinforces the harmonics of the fundamental frequency. In the case of the FreqBox, the input signal is used to reset the FreqBox's VCO.

FM is a technique used to get really rich sounds from simple waveforms. The type of FM used in the FreqBox is linear FM. Sounds range from gong or bell-like tones to sizzly sweeps.

The FreqBox, like all moogerfoogers, works with any instrument to line-level input. In addition to the panel controls there are control inputs for use with expression pedals or control voltages and control outputs for interconnecting moogerfoogers like you would a modular synth.

The FreqBox can provide some really unusual processing to all types of signals: guitars, synths, drum sounds, vocals or wind instruments allowing you to enter previously unexplored sonic territory."
