Scammer Alert: Seth Nemec of Bananalouge, aka modularmod

"I am writing to forewarn potential synth buyers of a fraudulent ebay seller named Seth Nemec, who goes by the ebay name of 'modularmod.' Nemec sells a variety of analog synth-related equipment and modular synth components (esp. Bananalogue). In the past month, Nemec has engaged in at least three fraudulent synth-related sales on ebay: selling but never delivering a Minimoog Model D, an Oberheim SEM Pro, and an Oberheim Cyclone Midi Arpeggiator. He has also defrauded contributors to a recent Kickstarter campagin to the tune of almost $23,000. In each case, Nemec received payment and spent the funds freely on ebay, but never delivered the goods promised.

I started building my own sounds right away and in this demo you can hear a sound that uses vector and wavetable synthesis. Everything is played live using the keyboard, the joystick, the 4 part switch buttons and the pitch and modulation wheel. This synth is the king of evolving sounds!

"I thought that, since there isn't much evidence of this synth on YouTube, I'd give it a bit of what I believe young people call a 'big-up'.
The Casiotone (CT)1000p was the company's early attempt at an affordable additive synth. This was 1982, before the Yamaha brought out the DX7. I love the sound of this board. It has a fairly limited repertoire, but a unique sound nevertheless.
Sealed has written extensively, with inspiring audio samples on his excellent site: http://homepage.mac.com/synth_seal/ht... [link no longer working - looks like it was sealed's old site.]
I'd like to do justice to the CT1000P in a longer more detailed demo. I may do that some day, if no one else beats me to it.
In this particular clip the CT1000P is being lent some dignity by the delay effect of a Yamaha REX50.
Oh, and these synths go for peanuts on ebay.

This outfit looks, plays, and functions fine. These older analog units are prized for their quick synth latencies, great analog and hex tones, and are famously used by artists like Pat Metheny, John McLaughlin, Adrian Belew, and Robert Fripp to get some amazing, unique sounds. The G-202 Guitar Synth Controller is a solid-body, offset double cutaway body with bolt-on solid maple neck, Gotoh tuners, dual Roland PU-120H humbucking pickups, built-in hex pickup, onboard synth controller electronics, Controls: guitar volume, tone, synthesizer VCF cutoff, guitar/synth mix, VCF resonance (feedback) and LFO depth (synth vibrato). "Testing LD syncing to and sending CV to Buchla 200ePR clocks LD, LD sequencer triggers samples (kik/snr/hat) in LD.
Control Sequencer 1 is output from LD to CV in of the 259e.
281 is triggered from tock section of PR.
266e, altering envelope decay via 256e. 256e also does envelope feedback (281 out to 256e which inverts it, scales it and is sent to decay CV) a second 256e channel is used to mix the env feedback and the 266e to get different length envelope decays.
The 259e is made of funk, its a ridiculous oscillator. got to be my all time favourite."

"Just a video of the Dark Energy being run into the new Modcan Dual Delay, I just have a basic Arp coming from Ableton via the DEII's USB MIDI in, the innerclock syncgen-IILS is providing the pulses for the delay syncs.
I just fiddle with the knobs there isn't much in the way of modulation happening which I will elaborate on in a later video, the delay sure does sound good though and its functionally VERY deep!
Oh and the Dark Energy II has its filter being modulated at audio frequency rates by a Pittsburgh Oscillator, which is having its pitch controlled by the Dark Energies MIDI note CV out."
