Korg MS-20 Snare drum demo + Pro~One, Yamaha CS-30 and Synthesizers.com

Published on Jun 26, 2013 Magnus Gladén·31 videos

"Why use samples or drum machines if you already have the necessary equipment to create drum sounds. Making your own drum sounds is both fun and more personal.

In this video I've used a Korg MS-20 for snare drum. The MS-20 is perfect for making snare, clap sounds thanks to the resonant hi-pass filter. The kick is programmed on a Sequential Circuits Pro~One by Jonas Sjöström. The Pro~One is great for kicks and can do Speak&Spell (Vince Clarke) kicks and all the way up to 909.

Hi-hats are made by a Yamaha CS-30, the CS synths hi-pass/band-pass filter is perfect for making hi-hats. The best CS synth for making hi-hats is the CS-10... hard to find snappier envelopes. I don't own a CS-10 anymore so I had to use a CS-30. The trigg to the CS-30 seems to be messed up, the hi-hat some times starts and stops...

Since the MS-20 was occupied making snare-sounds I had to use a Synthesizer.com to make the hand-clap. Not as easy as making a hand clap on a MS-20 but I think it sounds pretty ok. I will record another video when I create a hand clap on a .com.

Effects used in the video is a Klark Teknik DN-780 and a Sony MU-R201"

Oberheim OB 8 vs DSI Prophet 08 Test by INHALT

Published on Jun 26, 2013 INHALTVIDEO·19 videos

"If you like what you hear and would like to hear more please like our page on Facebook at:

Vinyl Available at:

It has to be said that the Prophet 08 is one of our favorite modern polyphonic synthesizers. It's got a feature set that no other poly synth has ever had and is incredibly inspiring to play. Because of the 8 voices it lends itself very well to song writing as bass notes, complex chords, and leads can be played in one go. It also has a sound that is firmly planted in the Curtis IC Chip lineage that other famous polyphonics are in.

Our main intention was to use the Prophet 08 for upcoming live INHALT performances because it has a great tone color that is capable of approximating a lot of our signature sounds made on vintage synths. To our surprise (and delight), the resemblance is rather uncanny to the Oberheim OB 8, which is one of the main polyphonic synths we use.

This little test isn't exactly perfect in terms of one to one patch programming. But I feel as though the individual patches are close enough to each other to drive the point home. That point being: the Prophet 08 is more than capable of generating sounds very similar to the Oberheim OB 8.

Our interests are not in the raw sawtooth with no filter comparisons because frankly, we rarely use such sounds in our compositions. Instead, this comparison shows patches we would use in a musical context. The sounds follow the photographs: The OB 8 is first followed by the Prophet 08."

KORG SUPER SECTION PSS-50 1984 | HD DEMO

Published on Jun 26, 2013 AnalogAudio1·111 videos "(c) 2013 by AnalogAudio1 The Korg "Super Section" PSS-50 is a little accompaniment box from 1984. It contains 8-bit drum samples and analog sound generation for bass and chord. It sounds similar to the Korg SAS-20. The synth engine sounds similar to the Poly-800. No MIDI. It's rather a funny toy for collectors than a serious musical instrument. Not really programmable. It has that typical Poly-800 design - I guess the same product designers did the work."

Mode Machines x0xb0x App Coming to iPad for Free?

"Watch out for our MODE MACHINES 'x0xb0x' iPAD APP. Going online in the Apple APPStore in a few days....F O R F R E E !!!"

I checked iTunes for Mode Machines to see if they are registered, which they would have to be if they have an upcoming up. Andrey Smetanin came up with a Mode Machines MIDI Keyboard app per below.

"Based on the critically-acclaimed instrument MUZA and brought to you by a famous analog synthesizers manufacturer "Mode Machines".
This app is a musical scale-based MIDI keyboard. You can use it with connected hardware interfaces or via Wi-Fi.
Choose Major or Minor scale, select the root, midi channels and adjust velocity curve. Also you have pitch and modulation wheels. You'll be surprised how easy it is to play music!"

"For sale is this really cool, rare & vintage Tama Techstar TS206 analog electronic drum brain synth rackmount machine.
Comes with two original Tama TS-100 trigger pads as well. Everything has been tested & works perfectly & fully functional, absolutely no issues.
This drum-synth module is very unique & offers many cool vintage 80s toms, snares, noise & analog drum sounds.
You can shape each channel exactly the way you want it & can choose between one memory patch & one user-manual patch for each channel.
Overall the module is in great condition for its age, although it shows slight wear from use.
The trigger pads show the most use, but have been tested & work great as well.
Made in Japan in the 1980s, rare to find w/ original trigger pads!"
