"Based on a 1984 classic made by "The Voyagers", I recorded every single Instrument by my own and tried to stick, soundwise, as close to the original as possible. There are some notable differences though, and therefore I consider this a personal creation of mine. It is not the intent of "stealing" from the original producers, it is meant as a musical tribute to them. This track also contains absolutely no sample from the original recording."

"I've programmed a simple sequence and played around with my Roland JX-8P. The results are quite random sometimes, but beautiful nonetheless. Added some external Chorus, Reverb and basic Mastering. Still, it's still pure Roland 80's sweetness! Especially the Cross-Mod on DCO2 is superb on Level 1. It's difficult to understand why Roland saw this one as a competitor to DX7. Both of them excel on very, very different aspects."

Pure Analog FM - Z3000 Smart VCO MKII (Modular Sequence)

"Two A-110 VCOs are the modulators used to modulate via sine waves the frequency of the Z3000 (linear FM). Additionally the exponential FM input of the Z3000 is fed with an envelope signal of the A-140 ADSR. The frequency modulated sine wave of the Z3000 is amplified with the A-131 VCA & shaped by the envelope generated by the second A-140 ADSR. Added a delay in Ableton live, no additional effects. The sequence is done in Ableton Live. The A-190 Midi interface controls the three VCOs. After tuning all VCOs (it's also possible to tune the two doepfer VCOs when a sawtooth wave is sent through a patch cable to the ext-in input of the Z3000) the sequence is expanded from one step to 16 steps at 4:51.
Frequency modulation (FM) synthesis is a technique used to generate musically interesting sounds by rapidly changing the basic frequency of a sound. The pattern of change is created by another waveform with a frequency within the range of human hearing. (Z3000)"

"The C105 VC Noise / Lo-Fi Machine is a voltage controlled analog sample rate reducer with an internal white noise generator.

Do you want to add a digital touch to your analog modular synth ? No problem.

This module is based on a Sample and Hold designed to work at audio rates. The internal clock runs from 250Hz up to 40KHz and can be voltage controlled. This wide frequency range and two FM inputs ( one with a reversible attenuator ) allow to create subtle digital effects or really harsh and Lo-Fi sounds.

The internal noise generator in combination with the S&H make a perfect way to create pitched noise, very useful to synthesize drums sounds , drones and sound effects.

"How does it work?

All you need is a Patchblock, a Mac or Windows PC and our free software. The software allows you to program your hardware module the way you want. Visual programming is easy, you choose from a variety of low level sound processing elements and combine their functions by connecting them with virtual cables – a bit like a modular synthesiser, but in software. Your library of software modules includes signal generators and processors (e.g. oscillators, filters, delays etc.), signal routing options and even modules for algorithmic composition. Our editor lets you emulate how your patch will sound and once you’re happy with it you can upload it to your Patchblock hardware simply by connecting it via USB. Once programmed you can unplug the Patchblock and jam away."

"What can I do with them?

A lot, it's really up to you. Plug some of your other gear in and use them as a sound processor if you want. Make an awesome noise box that produces pure digital filth. Let them play a concerto of chaos based algorithmic sequences. But also don't forget to think outside the box! Because you can combine several Patchblocks, you can make them work together. One Patchblock could for example generate an LFO (Low Frequency Oscillator) that you plug into another block to modulate processes that happen in there. Or you can create a chain of audio effects and processes. You can do this analogue style, by connecting them with audio cables, or via a digital connection, by clicking the Patchblocks together directly. Or even both!"

"I was really happy to be able to get one of the first Intellijel Metropolis sequencers. I set up last night and got it working in my own way. In the video you can see I have it synced to Ableton Live and my Roland TR-707. The sound source is a Wiard Oscillator running through a Analogue Solutions aka Medic Modules Defibrillator which is a filter but also adds some wicked heft to any source. By changing the Pulse Count on the Metropolis you can get some amazing creative patterns. Changing the Gate Mode then emphasizes notes even further by holding the Pulse Count either in a solid unbreaking sound or repeating pulse. You can see my mess with those parameters in the video too. Finally I control the entire sequence pitch using a Flame Tame Machine Quantizer's CV out. There are many other features this thing has I didn't touch here including clock division, internal quantization, shuffle, stage skipping, presets and more. The Metropolis a really nice. It's a true Moroder/EBM machine."

I wish they had 37 key version. I'm looking for the perfect tablet keyboard controller for lounging on the couch. Currently I'm using my KORG Microkorg. I like the look of the keys on the CME and the poly aftertouch, but two octaves isn't enough range for me.

Both have there advantages and there contras

The Juno has a excellent filter resonance, it has real pulse width modulation, a fast LFO and a second chorus.
But is not very flexible, only one DCO.

on the other Hand

The 3P have 2 DCO which can be tune separately with LFO and Envelope modulation, faster Envelop, a sync and ring-modulation mode and a serial midi interface.
But the Filter Resonance is not as good as in the Juno and it has no real pulse width modulation.

I think both are great synthesizer :-)
