Abeem Live Technologies releases Rack Performer 1.0

"Paris, France - January 7, 2014 - Abeem Live Technologies

Abeem Live Technologies has released Rack Performer 1.0, pro-audio software for live performance, sound design and real-time audio processing.

Rack Performer is a high-level modular environment hosting VST plugins and internal modules (over 100 and counting), with MIDI support, multi-channel audio I/O and internal processing, complete automatic patch-delay compensation, sample accurate sequencing, low jitter and latency.

As a platform dedicated to stage performance, Rack Performer helps the live musician at every step from the rehearsal to the concert.

Patch
In Patch mode, load and connect any number of effects and instruments
Create patches easily and smoothly in a fast OpenGL-rendered patcher
A large choice of built-in modules is available, with various mixing and processing effects, filters and many more
VST plugins are fully supported, including MIDI sequencers and MIDI effects
All connection schemes are possible, like multi-channel and side-chain routings
Most internal modules support multi-channel streams (up to 7:1) on their inputs and outputs

Edit
In Edit mode the application interface is full-screen without scrolling or overlapping windows
Dispatch all module interfaces on up to 8 virtual screens, each holding its own rack of modules
Select GUI wrappers to build custom control surfaces to focus only on important parameters
Modules have their own presets bank where their state and configuration can be stored and recalled at will
Quick MIDI controller mapping supports advanced types like 14bit CC and NRPN, along with mapping curves
Easily create keyboard splits, layers and merges or transpose notes on the fly by using the provided MIDI effects
Incoming MIDI events can be filtered by type at three levels: per MIDI input device, per input channel or ultimately per module

Perform
High-precision sample-accurate engine allows for low jitter and ultra tight control and synchronization
Events sequencing, automation and processing is completely sample-accurate from end to end. All nuances of the performance are more faithfully conveyed, recorded and reproduced
Full sample accuracy also permits to have a complete patch delay compensation (PDC) that is not merely limited to delaying audio signals as all controls events are properly aligned
Scene Snapshots are an original way to save and recall any instant of the performance in a flash
Allocate dedicated audio output channels for audio monitoring, ideal to cue sounds on headphones before playing them
Complete multi-channel real-time audio recording support. The recorder can stream to disk any number of channels from any point(s) in the patch
Transport bar with auto-hide and a very slim design keeps all synchronization and master clock controls always accessible
Use the Live Sync and Full Slave synchronisation modes to lock to external master clocks, using any standard protocol
Synchronize to any source exactly like a DJ would do, with the manual sync controls, including Tap Tempo, Sync-to-Push and tempo skew

Key features
High-level modular host
Over 100 internal modules
VST plugins support
Scene Snapshots
Virtual Screens
Low jitter sample-accurate sequencing engine
Multichannel audio processing
Multichannel HD recording
Dedicated audio monitoring
Audio: up to to 32 inputs and up to 32 outputs, full-duplex
MIDI: up to 128 inputs and up to 128 outputs + routing
MIDI Clock / MTC / MMC / MSC external sync

Rack Performer pricing and availability
Rack Performer is available immediatly world-wide and exclusively at www.livefactory.com. Price for a single user license is €139."

"The SR-55 is a very rare rhythm machine made in 1972 by Keio Electronics of Japan as Korg Mini-Pops 3, marketed in the USA by UNIVOX (Shin-ei). It features 20 rhythms, volume knob, tone knob and two 6-part variation knobs for Fox Trot/Swing. Plays great vintage beats (especially Latin rhythms), great for blues, reggae and rock. SR-55 was used by Kraftwerk early on. You can create cool train effects, and the Western beat has a hilarious horsey clip-clop sound (a la Wall of Voodoo). Run it thru delay/chorus effects pedals for some killer sounds..."

MTI Auto Orchestra

"This is the MTI Auto Orchestra. The coolest drum machine I have ever seen, and with FULL ACCOMPANIMENT! (Strings, Bass, Chords). This machine works beautifully! You can play the bass manually with a String bass or Synth Bass sound (or both), or it will automatically play simple or complex bass patterns for you! There are also many options for the string and cord accompaniment.

This listing includes the main unit, the stand for the main unit, the bass pedals, and the volume pedal with controls. This one has one small hiccup - that is the strings only come out of the strings output and not the main output as well. I can almost guaranty that the 1/4" switching jack for the strings is dirty. Otherwise, it functions 100%. It is also missing the lid for the main unit, and the previous owner mounted the bass pedals to a piece of mdf to make them sturdier. I left it like that, but you could certainly remove it. There is also some electrical tape on the cable from the bass pedals to the main unit, this looks like minor reinforcement rather than a major repair. Not the prettiest job, but it all looks very solid..."

"EDP SPIDER Synthesizer Sequencer
Electronic Dream Plant

Made: England 1978
Voltage: 9V DC (centre pin +ve)

Condition
Cosmetically: Amazing ! almost as new. I doubt you could ever find an EDP Spider in better condition than this. Definitely suit collector. Very rare synthesizer sequencer. No cracks in case which is very unusual !
Functionally: 100% Perfect, no issues at all..

Description:
Awesome !! Very easy to use, records notes directly from edp synths, even records in real time !. Sync in to sync with other gear. Transpose buttons are fun, great for arpeggios. Also has CV and Gate out to sequence other synths. Very versatile & usable sequencer.

Internet Info: The Spider is a 256-note step, or 84-note real time digital sequencer to control the Wasp and/or Gnat. It features a few simple controls for entering notes in step or real time and transposing the sequence a semi-tone, whole-tone, major-3rd, or perfect-5th as well as speed controls. Although it has EDP's own pre-MIDI interface for connecting it to other EDP gear, it also had CV/Gate outputs for connecting it to other analog synths too."

The MAGA’s concept inspiration designed when Evans Storn experimenting with functions of synthesizer from another brand, watch demonstrations on the net which he never tried before and after that he pouring all of the experiences along with his personal DIY (Do It Yourself) analog synthesizer. From all of that circumstances and based upon thought on the advantages and disadvantages of analog synthesizer, finally the idea of Storn MAGA formed.

Storn MAGA itself is Analog Modular Synthesizer, which is there are analog and digital technology processes, or called hybrid, the outcome and process in Storn MAGA is pure analog, with features given include things like Voltage Controlled Oscillator, Voltage Controlled Filter, Voltage Controlled Amplifier, Low Frequency Oscillator, Attack Decay Envelope, ADSR Envelope and Noise.

Richard Devine Interview & Gear Pics on I♥SYNTHS

via Richard Devine

"My interview and new studio tour with iheartsynths just went up today.
Some really nice pics there.

"I♥SYNTHS: When did you get into electronic music? Was it a certain musician or piece of gear that got you interested?

Richard Devine: I started getting into electronic music back in high school. I was a DJ at local clubs and raves back in the early 90′s, and became fascinated with making music after hearing a Aphex Twin remix of “Mind stream” EP from Meat Beat Manifesto. At age 17 I started to build up my studio, which around that time was mostly early analog drum machines and synths. I would go to the local pawn shops here in Atlanta every weekend to see what I could find. It was a great time to buy this stuff as it was at a point when no one wanted early analog gear. My first proper synthesizer was the Arp-2600. This was a completely life changing moment for me. I was completely blown away by the semi modular format of the synth. You could also use it to process other sounds via filtering, ring modulation, and spring reverb. I still to this day have and still use the 2600 for my day-to-day projects. It taught me the basic fundamentals of building and shaping a sound from pure synthesis."
