via the listing: "A super rare vintage 80's analog drum module. It comes with the special bulky power supply, which can also power another unit, the power cables are MIDI cables coming from a line lump box transformer (see pics).
Fully functional in very nice condition for a unit that is around 30 years old. This one is a tough sell as it's has a nice variety of tone possibilities and a unique character that sets it apart from similar Simmons & Tama modules, even though it can be adjusted to sound similar if that's what your after. This unit has two channels. Each channel has a selectable switch to select tom/bass or snare sound, which alters the basic tone that can be shaped with the parameter knobs. You can really get some nice solid bassy kick drum sounds a la 808- & 909-ish varieties if you're looking for that, plus the range of Simmons like Tom sounds.
Each channel needs to be triggered by a drum pad or trigger signal (gate or audio signal will work). This works great with a Roland TR-606 (like I have in another auction) since it has two trigger outs, or you can use individual outputs from a drum machine/sampler using a sound with a sharp attack works best.
Check online if you need more info, demos, etc. There are some YT demos out there of these units. The other variations (DSM 1, 8) are all the same sound generating wise. This one has the benefit of 2 channels on one unit opposed to just 1 channel on the D.S.M. 1 and 8 units.

(SEE PICS) Master Tune needs to be set to RIGHT 5, I don't know if that is something Wine Country did in their restoration, but it needs to be set that way. The paraphonic VCOs are from the MFB OSC02 triple VCO, generating pulse waves, going through the Voice of Saturn Filter and mixed with a little Plague Bearer effect. The secondary sound is a Dixie pulse wave VCO going into a V'Amp, modulated by the Anti-OSC, going into the uVCF. All modular sounds end up in the Sound of Shadows delay.

He is one of the few living artists to own and have mastered Don Buchla’s 1973 Music Easel, a rare, performance-oriented portable synth made from two modules of the Buchla 200 series.
Cohen will host a workshop illuminating both his unique creative philosophy and musical practice. He will also present the new re-issue of the original Buchla Music Easel system, produced in close consultation with Don Buchla himself.
The workshop will culminate in a collaborative jam session, during which participants are invited to use their own analogue equipment, as well as the equipment found at Schneidersladen, famous with audiophiles world-wide for its expansive selection of weird and wonderful sound generating devices."

"This is the original 259e "Complex" oscillator loaded with firmware version 3.x of the "Twisted" 259e. This was my very first Buchla module purchased second hand a few years ago. I received it with the "Twisted" 259e's firmware loaded and it functions and sounds pretty much identical to the current Twisted 259e (which retails for $1600). However, the module arrive from it's prior owner with a few minor quirks. The quirks are:
Switching the module to "remote" mode sometimes takes a little patience. Usually it's necessary to hold the "remote" button down for 2 or 3 seconds to get it to work. Often that step needs to be repeated a few times before it finally activates, but has ALWAYS eventually worked. For me that's only been a tiny annoyance since I seldom use the preset manager. This is very likely a button problem that can probably be fixed by Buchla Electronic Music Instruments.
Turning the Morph attenuator clockwise seems to introduce a negative offset to the Morph value. Doesn't seem to have a major impact on usage as manually re-adjusting the Morph value will get things back on track. I'm assuming this can also be repaired by BEMI. There *might* even be some way to self-recalibrate the module that will resolve the issue (but I don't know for sure)
I haven't measured it, but the output level "seems" about 6db - 8db quieter than my other "e" modules. Again, this may be able to be repaired, but I can't say for certain.
These are the only issues I'm aware of. Other than that it sounds absolutely fantastic! Extremely versatile chameleon of sound! This is THE module that single-handedly pulled me into the world of Buchla. :)"

Doesn't seem to have a major impact on usage as manually re-adjusting the Morph value will get things back on track. I'm assuming this can also be repaired by BEMI. There *might* even be some way to self-recalibrate the module that will resolve the issue (but I don't know for sure)
I haven't measured it, but the output level "seems" about 6db - 8db quieter than my other "e" modules. Again, this may be able to be repaired, but I can't say for certain.
These are the only issues I'm aware of. Other than that it sounds absolutely fantastic! Extremely versatile chameleon of sound! This is THE module that single-handedly pulled me into the world of Buchla. :)"

Launching a pattern on the first unit sends a MIDI trigger to the units further along the chain to launch the same pattern.
