Pulse/Frequency Division With a Sequencer - Serge Synthesizer Tutorial

Published on Apr 22, 2014 Doug Lynner·20 videos

"Use a sequencer to create polyrhythms and pitch divisions.

Though this is illustrated on a Serge the concepts apply to many modular synthesizers. Let me know how you apply this on your modular synthesizer.

To see the modules used in this patch in detail see the Mystery Serge at http://www.serge.synth.net/gallery/dl....

"I'm selling one of two of these that I own. I'd love to keep both since they can be set to 'stack' where multiple units can act as one to give more simultaneous voices but it's not something I use often. And since I had it setup I decided to hook up a couple Strymon pedals for fun.

So there is about 10 minutes of sound demos and about 10 minutes of me mindlessly messing around. ;-)

モジュラーを外部エフェクトとして使う

Published on Apr 22, 2014 tibetronica·61 videos

Serge used as an effects processor.

Googlish:

"Sends audio to the modular in the Send / Return from DAW, and then processed by the side of the modular. To detect the envelope of sound that has been sent, we have to control the delay time of the analog delay in the CV this time.

Envelope jumped suddenly Sending percussion sounds, you can convert the Doppler effect of analog delay, that is to pitch shift because it drops slowly.

Emphasized the change of pitch, one system has a slightly more complex combination of reverb tail that evade the analog delay in the other system."

Audulus 2.7 Adds Support for iPhone - 50% Off - One App for both iPhone & iPad

Published on Apr 22, 2014 audulus·12 videos

iTunes: Audulus - Wilson Holliday

"Audulus 2.7 Launches Audulus for iPhone

Audulus 2.7 adds support for iPhone, with a user interface specifically updated for iPhone.

'iPhone support takes Audulus to the next level of portability,' says Audulus developer W. Taylor Holliday. 'Finally, musicians have an advanced modular synthesizer they can use to patch anything, anywhere.'

Audulus 2.7 improves the accuracy of the pinch-to-zoom gesture. A new connection gesture pans and zooms, easing the connecting of modules on the smaller iPhone screen.

Audulus 2.7 updates the patch browser with the ability to search for patches by name, as well as collapse patch thumbnails to accommodate the smaller iPhone screen.

Audulus support for iPhone is free for all users of the iPad version of Audulus. In-app purchases made in the Audulus Store on iPad will carry over to iPhone.

Audulus for iOS is available on the App Store for a limited time price of $9.99, a 50% discount. An iPhone 4s or later is required.

Audulus for Mac is available on the Mac App Store for a limited price of $14.99, a 50% discount during the iPhone launch period.

Audulus for iOS can be used as a stand-alone instrument or in conjunction with Audulus for Mac, for a round-trip workflow between platforms. Users can begin a patch on one platform and finish it on another – iPad, iPhone or Mac – since Audulus syncs user patches via iCloud.

Audulus is a minimalist modular software synthesizer and effects processor. With Audulus, users can build synthesizers, design new sounds, or process audio. All with low latency real-time processing suitable for live performance.

Spektro DRG Max for Live Device

Spektro DRG - Promo Video Published on Apr 22, 2014

"This is a promo video for the Spektor DRG Max for Live device.

DRG or Dual Rhythm Generator is a Max for Live device capable of generating clocks and rhythm that can be used with analog synthesizers and drum machines via control voltage. By using a combination of two clock generators and an optional boolean logic operator, DRG can generate anything from simple clock divisions to complex rhythms.
DRG is great for clocking to analog sequencers, triggering envelopes and sequencing drum modules.

STEREOPING Hardware Controller / Editor Prototype for Waldorf (TM) Microwave 1

Note: Auction links are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.

via this auction

"hardware controller/editor for the Waldorf (TM) Microwave 1. It's a protoype of a test series. This is not DIY-crap, the pcb sits rocketsave screwed onto 6 metalbolts. Case and the PCB are professionally manufactured (2-layer, silkscreen, both sided solder stop mask), high quality Alps-pots with metal collar.

What this device does: plug it in between keyboard/sequencers Midi-Out and the Microwaves Midi-In, put a standard 9V DC PSU in the powerjack and dial the Microwaves parameters in realtime. The device converts your pot dials into the appropriate sysex-commands and offers a very efficient way of patch editing. Incoming midi data from keyboard or sequencer are merged with the commands of the controller, you can dial while you play on a keyboard or fire the Microwave with notes from your sequencer. Volume and Cutoff are always available, the other 14 x 3 = 42 (!) parameters are selected by the 3 lighted, quality push buttons in the upper left corner. Press red button -> controller sends the red parameters, press green button ... well ...

Please consider: this is a protoype! The frontpanel consists of ordinary but yet high quality inkjet print, glued on the metalcase and coated multiple times with clear coat. I used this technique on multiple divices which i worked with for years without problems of bleaching or detaching panels. On cutting out the holes i made a little scratch in the front, as you see in the last pic. The Number '1' and '2' for the INstrument Number in Multi mode are a bit behind the big knobs. I can change them to the smaller ones if you like. The PCB is sitting some millimeters to far inside of the case, using unconventionally thick midijacks might be problematic, normal Midijacks work perfect.

Some of the features:

- durable and cute black steelcase, protection diode against wrong polation of the PSU

- Midicontroller-Number to Sysex-Translator: besides each pot you see a small number. It corresponds to the midicontroller number you can use to edit this parameter on your Microwave. E.g. simply send midicontroller 11 into the device to change the cuttoff frequency.

- Multi edit mode: realtime dialing of the midicontrollers 1,2,3 & 7 on the first 4 midi channels. Using a corresponding sound-/multimode-patch you will get a modulation monster.

- Bypass-mode to let all mididata pass through the device without filtering (useful e.g. for dumping soundbanks)

- Letter-Mode: Dial a patchname on the microwave using the 16 pots

- Firmware update via Sysex-Dump

The controller will be delivered without power supply, but every ordinary 9V DC(!) guitar effects wallwart with center pin grounded will do. You also get a detailed manual with 32 pages in english or german. Sold from a private person. I am sure you want to keep the thing once you tried it. I therefore offer 14 days money back, although you will have to pay shipping if you want to send it back. You will also get 3 months of warranty if technical issues will arise. Shipping only to european countries. Pleaso do not bid if you do not live in europe."

"LZX Visionary is a line of EuroRack format synthesizer modules designed for creating and manipulating video and images.

www lzxindustries dot net

In today’s era of digital video and computer graphics, tools for the video artist wishing to experiment with the use of analogue circuitry for the creation and processing of images have largely been lost, left to a rich tradition of video artists from the 1960′s and 1970′s. We believe the past several years’ renaissance in the use of analogue synthesizers in music production, and the effectiveness of integrated analogue and digital workflows, to be a precursor to a similar renaissance in video technologies. There is a warmth and immediacy in the analogue, hardware-based video workflow which is lacking within software environments, and video artists worldwide have long been frustrated by lack of access to such tools outside of a few scattered studios. With LZX Visionary, it is our goal to both reintroduce classic vintage video processing and synthesis circuitry, and continually push development of new tools which enhance integration with the tools of the day and fulfill the needs of the modern video artist.

LZX Visionary is a line of EuroRack format synthesizer modules designed for creating and manipulating video and images. While our modules may be augmented within the same system by a wealth of interesting modules from other manufacturers intended for the creation of audio, our goal is to offer a complete system specifically designed for the demands of generating and processing video signals.

via the seller: "A unique analog filter effects box from JoMoX, which is no longer in production. Similar to the T-Resonator without the delay effects and has a unique character of it's own as I have owned both.

If you're looking for a more straight ahead filter without the added zaniness that the delay lines add to the T-Resonator, this unit would complement the T and serve as a nice Moog-ish filter module to add some depth, character, and warmth to your sounds (digital synths, drum machines, guitar, etc.). Unit is in very nice shape and works as it should."

Product description:
"The m-resonator is a small filter box based on the resonator neuronium. the m-resonator has a true differential envelope follower and 2 filters that can be fed back in every way plus the filter distorts smoothly.

This little and inexpensive filter box is just incredible, although you won't see what's inside at first.

The envelope follower is level independent and has 2 actual envelopes internally - one fixed and one changeable referential envelope. They both are divided analog which produces a level independent envelope within far ranges.

The filters are made from discreet parts and form a 24 pole lowpass filter transistor cascade.
They can - in any thinkable way - be self feedbacked and be coupled or feedbacked with each other, so that extreme sounds and chaotic states create - all what you need today for creative analog sound design.
Unbelievable bass gains or screaming scratch sounds are no problem.
The mix pots are zeroed in center position; any other angle will couple or feedback negatively or positively. FM in both directions is also available.

Connections: Power 9V~ AC, Stereo In 2x 1/4 inch, Stereo Out 2x 1/4 inch"

"Up for sale is a (1) rare Roland SH-3A monophonic synthesizer. Optical it's in near mint condition with only some minor scratches on it (see photo's). Overall it's a beautiful piece for it's age (1975). Everything is working fine on it, but notice that there are some crackling sliders. The synthesizer is been modified with CV / GATE inputs and outputs. It comes with the lid of the case, music stand and instruction manual. It's an original 220V version and the serial number is: 442821."

Introducing telePort Control

Published on Apr 21, 2014 juvul·1 video

"telePort Control is available as an Universal App on the App Store: [telePort Control - Juvul]

More info and download of telePort at:
http://www.juvul.com
http://www.facebook.com/juvul

telePort Control is a bi-directional controller created for the free prototype of telePort.
-It lets you create and manage sequences directly on the iPad.
-Switch between patches on all MIDI capable instruments as well as VST/AU instruments, and store new patches as well.
-Change the routing of all connected MIDI Controllers and Audio units.
-Switch channels effect chains and set Volume and Sends directly.
-Loop everything you do with the MIDI loopers as you would with anything in telePort...

The iPhone version is thought of as a companion app.
It mirrors most of the basic controls but focused mostly on letting you control the three audio looper channels found in telePort.

http://youtu.be/aekDMgpwgCs [posted here]

-------------------------

telePort lets you integrate hardware and software instruments, as one advanced combined, programmable and morphable instrument. It brings a modular approach to (augmented) sequencing and mixing, while at the same making it easy to switch between completely different songs/tracks, or change the modules independently as the music is playing.

The goal is to create a very flexible music system, where you can have a whole set, not just a song, at your fingertips and improvise or play structured parts based on rules you define freely."

Breadboarded analog synthesizer

Published on Apr 22, 2014 Mushroom Glue·1 video

You never know when you might be watching the next synth manufacturer.

"This is my A-level electronics project; an analogue synthesizer with a VCO, VCA, VCF, envelope generator & 8 step sequencer, done using relatively common components. The midi control demonstrated in the first part was an additional section, not officially part of the work for the A-level. Sorry for the length & quality of the video; This is my first upload."

Giving this one a Mushroom Glue channel label.
