Dave Smith Instruments to Announce New Pro-One Style Mono Synth at Summer NAMM?

What is that in front of him? A little birdy told me it's a new Pro-One style mono synth. Dave Smith has repeatedly stated that he has no desire to re-release prior synths he has worked on so don't expect a clone. DSI synths also use the latest filter chips from the late Doug Curtis of CEM fame.

The unit turns on, but nothing shows up on the main display and the keys are not producing any sound. I managed to have it produce very slight sound as I tried changing some of the settings, but the output level is very low and has noise on it so I'm selling this AS IS for you to use with some servicing done.
Otherwise, all the LED lights on the buttons appear to light up correctly, with Increment dial and the display beside responding fine. I'm guessing it might do with the internal battery replaced."

This interesting circuit topology results in a sound that can only be described as out of this world!
The really unique feature is that the noise oscillators are voltage controllable, which results in a lot of cool modulation possbilities.
You have to think of the Liquid HiHat as more of a “Noise VCO” than a hihat module, as due to the complexity of the base design, there are currently no envelope generators or VCAs on board to generate decay envelopes. If you plan on using the module for hihats, it is expected that you patch these modules into the signal chain.
This means that the module lends itself to generating other textures that
aren’t specifically hihats. Patching into an ADSR means you can create very

The Eurorack is clocked by the Korg Volca Beats. The intellijel Dixie VCO plays a random melody, sequened by the Turing Machine, through the Polivoks VCF, which is modulated by a decay envelope and the Malekko Wiard Anti-Oscillator. The Super Warp Generator receives a bit-crushed signal from the Klangbau Wavetable VCDO, which cycles trough its wavetable, modulated by a Make Noise Function.

BASICVOICE 2 - This case leans just a little bit more towards the experimental side of things. The Make Noise STO has three waveshape outputs, but with a couple interesting twists - it's got a very pure sinewave, a sub squarewave oscillator (1 octave below, which can be outputted on-demand via S-Gate) and a variable waveshape output with CV in to add harmonics. The uVCF filter from Intellijel can even double as another sound source, and Optomix has and auxillary in for more mixing. Lots of modulation possibilities here too with the QPLFO. This is a wicked, compact, system - for sure!

"A lot my time is spent standing around! I've been standing listening the the voice board of the Elements Synthesizer- Board 'B' out of A,B,C,D in this unit- this is the last listening test that I do. Having nailed issues in Board 'C' - the touch keyboard unit- now perfection, I have also nailed issues in Board 'B'- it now just right, just perfect to what I'd like from this synth- certain 'elements' in Board 'B' needed refinement- and here it is. I've shot this clip of me playing with that filter- the new spring reverb circuit and the enhance 'tape delay simulator'...you can hear some of the results on this vid- sometimes subtle- sometimes brash- that flavour is myself! So, I stand for hours on end listening- when I hear something good- great! When I hear what I don't want- I correct........as seen- this may involve a beer, a cigarette or even a joint! This video represents the final listen.........manu next!"
