DK Synergy Synthesizer sound effects

"This is a demo of some factory program sound effects for the DK Synergy digital synthesizer from the 80's. No editing was done to these presets aside from some front panel performance adjustments. Recorded directly into Logic via Apogee Ensemble with some EQ'ing and compression."

Akai S900, Alesis MMT8, x0xb0x Atomic Mods, Yamaha QY100 Demo

Published on Aug 9, 2014 Pizza Synth

"In this demo the midi is on a few tracks being sequenced/looped by the Alesis MMT8. The main loop is a sample om the S900 with plenty of on board editing, LFO, ASDR, etc. The piano comes from the QY100, as do the drums and all the delay fx. The x0x is playing the un-x0xish sequence that comes in every so often. It has a lot of the mods turned on. There is a bunch of reverb on the master as I track into Ableton."

"slowly getting my head around meadowphysics, it's a beautiful piece of software.
i won't go too deep into the actual patch itself as this is more of example/exercise of meadowphysics than the modular itself.

grid 128 running meadowphysics/teletype into the aleph/grid 64 running streppa (step sequenced filter bank type thingy..) then into the modular for additional processing with multiple other elements added.
i had a bit of trouble with uploading this one so please excuse any sync issues, also sorry for the ball scratch mid way thru.."

Complex envelopes with Verbos Voltage Multistage

"How to set up a complex envelope using the Verbos Voltage Multistage. In this example, there are three stages before the sustain, allowing multiple variations on the usual attack and decay stages, and two stages in the release, allowing subtle shaping of the release curve or a secondary peak upon release."

SNAZZY FX: Chaos Patch (one row) using Dreamboat

Published on Aug 9, 2014 snazelle

"with its five outs (!) and 2 cv inputs, The Dreamboat works really well wired up as the 'brain' of a patch like this. people often say to me...how do I USE the Dreamboat...this is a good example. it is both connected TO and receiving cv from a few modules at a time. then once you set it, adjusting the other modules will push the Dreamboat to create rhythmic patterns, modulations, triggers, etc. patch diagram available."

New Audio Damage BASIC - $39 Virtual Mono Synth For Everyone

via Audio Damage

"The introductory price of US$39.00 is good until September 4th, 2014. After that, Basic will go to its normal price of US$49.00."

"One day not long ago, we were speaking with the music department head of a local college; he lamented the fact that there really wasn't a commercial-quality low-cost three oscillator subtractive mono-synth available for the educational market. This puzzled us, because there's no shortage of synth plug-ins out there, and this seems like a fairly glaring oversight.

So we did some market research, and discovered he was right. All the available options are either slavish recreations of classic synths, with all the foibles and strange UI decisions intact, or modern behemoths with every feature under the sun. We decided to tackle the challenge of an inexpensive, simple 3-osc mono-synth that followed the classic subtractive style, and Basic is the result.

While it is designed with ease-of-use, low cost, and simplicity in mind, the panel sits in front of a powerful modern synthesizer engine with an aggressive tone and self-resonating filters that scream when pushed. We're sure every electronic musician will find a place in the mix for Basic.
» Three alias-free wavetable oscillators with six waveforms each, and oscillator sync.

» A pair of cascaded filters featuring MS20-style lowpass and highpass, and a bandpass of our own design.

» A four-waveform tempo-syncable LFO with waveshaper.

» ADSR envelopes for amplitude and filter frequency.

» User-definable soft-saturation.

» A simple and easy-to-understand workflow, inspired by the classic topology of vintage analog synths like the Minimoog, SEM, and MS20, but with modern usability.

» Touchscreen-friendly and highly visible user interface.

» DRM-free, for easy installation and updating."

@MTC10 (10 minute track challenge) - BURGritty / KORG Volca + Roland TR-8

Published on Aug 9, 2014 ollilaboratories

"This is a video based on the facebook KORG volca group challenge https://www.facebook.com/groups/Volca/

This is the second upload, as the first video had some weird digital artefacts in the audio ... sounded like shit (pardon my language)

So idea of the challenge is, record a track live in less than 10 minutes where NOTHING is programmed in advance (of course, sequences can be recorded on the fly). Tag it @MTC10 (10 minute track challenge) and post it on the internetz....

I wanted to showcase the KORG volca, because ppl say it sounds like shit, and the filter is crap... i wanted to prove it the opposite.. and at the same time have no other instruments except the TR-8 drum machine.. so, this is what you get. :)

Signal path, KORG volca to strymon timeline, to jomox t-resonator, to TR-8 external in, to Kaoss pad = zoom Q4 to do video and audio! :)

No, rehearsals.. just select 110bpm, set the delay to match and press start!

Peace and BoOoM!"
