""cartesian sequencer," "geometric sequencer," "planular sequencer," "axis sequencer," and finally, in buchla-speak, "non-linear sequential tuned voltage map." "rené," for the man rené descartes. the primary goal of this sequencer is to have a maximum amount of artist controlled musical variation, with a minimum amount of data input. there are no menus, all editing is done real-time, and thus, the programming of rené becomes a key performance element.

rené has up to 4 clock inputs and 2 cv inputs which may be used simultaneously to achieve complex, musical patterns output in the form of quantized voltages, non-quantized voltages and two gate/ pulse streams.

the faceplate for the rené is a printed circuit board. it is black, with white and gold graphics"

"The BLD has all components and functions necessary for generating bass lead and drum sounds with focus on bass drum sounds. It can be trigged by a push button or by an external signal (any shape). The pitch, cutoff frequency, transient times and amplitude are also voltage controllable by external signals. The BLD contain main sound generator (OSCILLATOR) and noise generator and modifiers such as low pass filter, amplifier and two transient (contour) generators."

FOLKTEK TIME MACHINE

"Only 15 of these have ever been made. A small number of these remain and there are no plans to make more.

This time machine created by Arius Blaze is a small series of identical works featuring patchable keys via magnetic patchbay (folktek original).

Capable of everything the other time machines are but quite a bit more refined and with added connection possibilities so for the time being, sounds and videos will reference older models. More will be added when possible. For more reference, read up on the other models on the time portion of the site

The Time Machine is an "on the fly" remix machine. 8 patchable keys determine timing change ups and odd granular effects/ring modulation of either a sampled sound (from extremely tight to up to about 5-8 seconds (becoming more lofi after a few seconds) or a direct incoming signal. Time is selectable between 3 ranges to allow for more range on the timing knob.

After a sample is captured, bits and pieces of the incoming signal can be added to or replace parts of the original. With the "add" jack, external CV can add/replace sound to/from the loop.

As a delay it's exceptionally Dub heavy with feedback ranging from singular to swelling, infinite repeat..

This is a digital piece with a very warm sound and very analog characteristics. A sample can be slowed to grumbles or sped up a great deal. The patches are magnetic - a thing we at folktek came up with so there is no need for plugging - you simply set your patch plug on whatever point you like. Patches are assigned to each key and pressing more than one key at a time creates a matrix affect allowing for more complicated effects and resampling. With the use of a magnet, a key can be depressed to act as a switch. The result is high and simple playability with thousands of possibilities.

Connections on the back allow the time machine to act as a master clock - with three 1/8" clock outputs and a tap tempo out. Using the tap tempo out and connection to a midi footswitch controller makes for an easy and inexpensive method of using the time machine as the master clock over midi as well.

CV input controls global pitch so among other possibilities, you can capture tight samples as synthesis from any source and play them with a sequencer or keyboard.

Custom Oak box, custom switches and keys and custom patchbays with cloth covered cables. The time machine has controls for mix, feedback, time one and two, level controls, sample on, delay on, 1/4" input, 1/4" output, and runs on a standard 9v-12v power supply.

I can only provide US and EU power supplies (EU only provided upon request), but if that doesn't suit you, one will be very easy to find. 9v +tip, 2.1mm, 1000ma. A simple voltage converter will work as well."

"The Cosmic Echo Squared is the Big Sister of the Cosmic Echo, now with momentary foot switches and expression pedal input!

Features:

- Dark, rich sounds with the analog vibe of a tape echo.

- Contains PT2399 IC, a bucket brigade style emulation. This IC has 16-bit sampling for 30-300 milliseconds. After that, the sample rate goes down in relation to the delay length. This results in artifacts and noise being introduced into the audio for weird, cosmic, psychedelic sounds. Use it like a typical echo or

- Delay length: 30ms-1,250ms.

- 4 knobs: Feedback, Mix, rate and Blast Amount. The Mix is a Wet only control that attenuates the amount of delayed signal in the signal chain. The Feedback controls the number of repeats in an organic-sounding way.

- Warp button. Momentary pushbutton switch that gives a bright, "small" speaker tone.

- Blast button. Momentary pushbutton switch that introduces feedback into the circuit momentarily. Great for adding rhythmic feedback and other strange sounds. The Blast amount can be adjusted by external pot!

- Pedal has a slight volume drop.

- Great for shoegaze, surf rock, ambient and experimental sounds.

- Takes a 9V battery or 9V center negative 2.1-2.5mm barrel Power Adapter (not included).

- Handmade in Portland, Oregon."

"This song will be featured on Operation: 1-UP, coming 2.17.2015

The Cause: http://www.gofundme.com/anewkidneyfor...

I was approached by a few new friends I got to meet at MAGfest about getting involved in Operation: 1-UP. They had some spots that they needed filled but, I had to pick a song from a game series I had never played, Kingdom Hearts, and I needed to get it done right away. So, I set out, listening to a bunch of KH music, and I finally decided to do Sora's Theme because it was more upbeat, lighthearted, and ideas started spinning around in my head.

I hope you enjoy it!

EMS Synthi AKS Just Serviced at CMS by Phil Ciccerro

Interesting side view of the Synthi.

"EMS SYNTHI AKS. Recently serviced by Phil Ciccerro at CMS Discrete Synths. Had over $1400 work done. I did all the work he recommended. I am also including the briefcase. Its larger than the original, with plenty of customizable space for ext speakers, sub, patch bay, accessories, etc

The speakers are not installed, but the power amp for the speakers come through the custom 1/4' output jacks. I have tried them with various speakers. They drive pretty loudly.

There is one pot that spins, and probably needs replacement, (its a common pot. I need to skeak with Phil, because there are a few small issues, like the pot, and the Right input (for prossesing external signals like Todd rundregren used for guitar etc, doesn't seem to get the hi Z signal. It could be made really nice, with some silk screen refurb on the panel. I also have the keyboard on a separate listing. The last time I checked on another Synthi (Squids Aks) it worked, so im confident it works fine. I don't have the jack to try it. Also its been weirdly modified with a see through window. This Synthi could be made "DELUXE" in a bigger briefcase with some nice patched or installed in the case speakers, maybe a small external Sub, and patch points for speakers, inputs, an effects insert, or send, maybe a bigger reverb tank, so much could be done to make it super cool. We have always talked about making a "DELUXE" AKS. This is a good opportunity for that. Also the Samsonite, Samite briefcase come up on occasion, for around $800, so please figure whatever you may pay for a complete synthi, I would minus about $2000, for the case, a new pot, and some touch up."

"This is the Rare Grey/Black Shadow edition. One of only 666 made. I'm the original and only owner. I used this only in the studio on Cirrus' Counterfeit album. On practically every track. It is amazing. Out of all of the massive vintage synth collection that we had in the Cirrus studio, this is one of the few that I kept when we closed it down. I could have kept the OBMX, the Juno-106 the Matrix, the Minimoog, and I kept this. Because it is the fattest and most versatile synth we had. I can't really say which of our songs it was featured in because it is in all of them. If you have heard a Cirrus track, and you undoubtably have (whether you know it or not) if you watch TV , play video games, or go to the movies, then you have heard this actual synth. Anyway, it's a beast, and you get the original box, the manual and the power supply. and Free Shipping."

Oberheim Stretch DX Drum Machine Midi w/ custom ZIF sockets SN 951901

Note: Auction links are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.

via this auction

"Up for auction is a rare, one-of-a-kind Oberheim Stretch DX drum machine! This unit has been customized with five ZIF sockets on the top of the drum machine case. In addition, the stretch module has five internal ZIF sockets as well. The auction also includes an original Oberheim "Sound Kit" case with six extra eproms, see list below.

The unit has factory midi and is in excellent condition. Everything works. All buttons work well. However, occasionally, and I mean occasionally, the right most drum trigger button number 1 on the stretch module is intermittent. I will include a spare drum switch for replacement if needed down the road. I just tested everything, and all the drum triggers worked perfect. Also note that one tuning pot on the stretch module is slightly bent. Does not affect performance at all.

The eproms included are:

1. OB Electric Kick
2. OB DX Snare 64
3. OB DX Hat 1A
4. DigiDrums Electric Toms #3
5. OB DX Shaker/Clap
6. OB Crash / Quijada
7. OB DX Toms
8. DigiDrums Rock Snare #1
9. Tambourine/Rimshot
10. Fat Snare
11. Conga

Spares include:

1. Punch & Zap effect
2. TR-909 Snare
3. TR-909 Kick
4. TR-606 Snare
5. TR-808 Kick
6. CR-68 Snare

The eproms with the Roland samples were created by me when I was the only Ebay seller in the 2000s selling custom eproms. These are under the MadKnobTech.com label. And they ROCK."
