281e As Oscillators

"Here is a simple, didactic demo using the Buchla 281e Quadraphonic Function Generator (normally used as an LFO, pulser and EG) used as 4 oscillators (sort of). The 281e doesn’t have much frequency range nor does it track well but you can work around it and get some fun layers. It could serve as a limited but useful auxiliary oscillator x 4. "The Intellijel Triatt is an especially handy module. Here are several features and examples as to how the module can be applied:

00:15 - Audio Mixing:

Three Oscillators are blend together with the Triatt with the mix accessible via the C/SUM output.

A dry signal is mixed with a wet signal using C/SUM mixing.

01:24 - CV Mixing:

Three CV sources are mixed together using the Triatt to modulate Oscillator parameters.

02:03 - Voltage Source

Each Triatt channel will output CV with no signal present at channel input.

02:11 - Attenuator / Inverter / Attenuverter:

An envelope is used as the input signal in this example. The envelope is modulating the cutoff frequency of a filter.

03:06 - Selectable Voltage

Voltage range is selectable for each channel to either 5v or 10v via rear panel jumpers."

New power cable and 6 Pin Cinch Jones Keyboard Connecting cable recently purchased and included.
Jones cable is 10 ft. long.

Synth. and Keyboard were purchased new from an educational facility here in Wisconsin back in the '70's. Was used for educational purposes/educational performances/etc.

Unit recently brought to a technician who has worked with ARP's and similar for the past two decades. I had him thoroughly test the unit - testing each aspect to see its current performance. Tech played the unit for about an hour in my presence the entire time.

ALL OSCILLATORS, AMPLIFIER, ENVELOPES, PATCHES, FILTERS, ETC. WORKED EXACTLY AS IT SHOULD AS THE TECH WAS PLAYING/TESTING THE UNIT. BOTH INTERNAL SPEAKERS SOUND NICE. OUTSOURCING AUDIO TO AN AMP SOUNDED VERY NICE AS WELL. THE ONLY COUPLE THINGS THAT THE TECH SAID THE UNIT COULD BENEFIT FROM WAS THAT THE KEYBOARD BUSHINGS COULD NEED A REPLACING (BUT STILL PLAYABLE, KEYS WERE A LITTLE 'CLICKY') AND THAT SOME OF THE SLIDERS NEED SOME CLEANING BUT NOTHING MAJOR. BUSHING SERVICE WAS QUOTED AT RIGHT AROUND $250.

FURTHERMORE, UNIT IS EVEN IN TUNE AND READY TO ENJOY!.."

"This is mostly junk, but I was messing around with the Volca Keys and Loopy HD, which has been one my favourite apps for some time, so I decided to spam Youtube with the unremarkable results.

As you can see, a Minifooger delay and EHX Small Stone phaser were used for effects, and some reverb was added in the mixdown."

"All sounds originated from the DRM1 :D I'm using the DRM1's FX insert feature to throw some guitar effects into the mix and turn the analog drum machine into a dark ambient drone synth.

I'm sustaining the kick drum sounds into a drone with the EHX SuperEgo pedal in latch mode. The wide control ranges of the Vermona's drums, let me choose a large amount of different sounds and pitches, which I can layer on top of each other with the SuperEgo.

The Signal Chain:
- Vermona Kick Drum to SuperEgo to Memory Boy to Neo Clone
- Vermona Drum 1 to Alter Echo to Micro Flanger
- Vermona Multi to Antenna
- Mixer FX send & Alter Echo to Ring Modulator

Miembros fundadores Pepe Mogt (Fussible) y Ramón Amezcua (Bostich) han usado equipos Novation a través de sus carreras como productores musicales, y quedaron muy sorprendidos con el Bass Station II. Pasamos un poco de tiempo con ellos en su ciudad, donde hicimos un muestreo de los famosos tacos de Tijuana y nos contagió el sonido nortec.

Nortec Collective is one of the most influential projects in Mexican music. They rose to prominence though their pioneering blend of traditional norteño and tambora samples mixed with the musical aesthetics of techno (hence nor-tec).
Founding members Pepe Mogt (Fussible) and Ramón Amezcua (Bostich) have used Novation products throughout their music-making careers, and they’re bowled over by the BassStation II. We spent some time with them in their home town, sampled some of TJ's famous tacos, and got infected by the sound of nortec.

"This is an experimental drum 'n bass piece written for 3 Tesla coils, a robotic drum kit and robotic bass guitar.

The leads are performed by a Plasmasonic Dual Resonance Solid State Tesla Coil (DRSSTC), and the accompanying parts by 2 microBrute DRSSTCs. The Tesla coils are controlled by the Chime Red musical Tesla coil control system created by Josh Bailey and James McVay.

The bass part is played by the Mechbass robotic bass guitar which was created by James McVay and Jim Murphy.

All sounds were recorded directly from the instruments with microphones in the space shown, with no added tracks.

Big thanks to the above-mentioned people for all of their hard work, and to Victoria University of Wellington for facilitating the creation of this work."
