"Siluripedio" - Italo Disco with Juno-60, BIT 99, and Drumulator

"'Siluripedio' - Italo Disco with Juno-60, BIT 99, and Drumulator

Well... play it loud and get in the groove... A circa 1982-1983-style retro ditty I came up with tonight... I was in the mood to record something in a style that was in vogue when I was a kid - I'm using the some classic '80s gear... Drumulator, Juno-60, and BIT 99. I played it all rigorously live, because I wanted to record it before I forgot the theme. I will re-record it later with sequencers and arpeggiators, in the classic Italo Disco / Hi-NRG style...on the 8-track reel-to-reel recorder...
Gear used
Roland Juno-60 = bass, lead
BIT 99 = synth pad
E-mu Drumulator = drums
Yamaha SPX90 = room reverb
Alesis MidiVerb II = delay
Ashly SC-50 = compressor for the bass drum only
Mixing console = Soundcraft Series 1600 Producer 24ch
Recorded in GarageBand! :)

u-he TyrellN6 Free VST - Audio Demo

This one in via Carrier: "Familiar controls but a different and interesting architecture."

via u-he: "Tyrell is the name of a project by the German online magazine Amazona.de. A reader survey and follow-on forum posts provided a pool of ideas for a low-cost HARDWARE analogue synth, which Mic 'Moogulator' Irmer collected and used to develop quite a powerful concept. Based on a design similar to Roland's classic Juno 60, a few modules and novel features could be added without making the product too expensive...

However, it soon became obvious that developing the hardware would have taken years, so I (Urs) offered to turn the core design into a freeware softsynth. That was late 2010. Only a few weeks later, TyrellN6 was out for beta testing! After some serious bug-fixing and fine tuning, the final release version became available in April 2011.

Version 3

In April 2013 we released TyrellN6 version 3, which now supports VST3. The new user interface was designed by Ryo Ishido.

Key features
new skin designed for Amazona.de by Ryo Ishido
smooth overdrive in the oscillator mixer
filter output can be fed back into the mixer
unison mode, with voice index modulation source
envelopes can be looped or triggered via LFO
envelopes retrigger just like classic hardware"

via the seller: "This little synth has a ton of mojo. It's easy to spend hours making sounds w this thing. I love the 'fine tune' knob in the back -- makes it super easy to tune up w the band (in combination w the 'wide' freq setting on the front) -- or use it to 'cheat' if you want to use a certain key (like C) and don't want to transpose to play w others. Comes w the Viking case pictured, which is super solid. The little brown bit is just a piece of packing tape, not a dent in the case. I just paid over $300 for a new ATA case (for a different synth), and I suspect its not as solid as this older one. I wish I could find another one like this one."

via Alyseum

"Back to the Matrix .....

The Alyseum MS-MATRIX is a Eurorack module consisting of a dynamic matrix, both analog and digital in nature, which sports 16 inputs and 16 outputs. A special 256 LED display makes a fast, a friendly and intuitive graphical interface, each LED representing one of the 256 points of connections available.

The module accepts a variety of signals such as Gates, Clocks, CV and Oscillator simultaneously, while the different user configurations can be saved as user presets in 32 locations. These 32 presets can be recalled by hand, by a dedicated CV Input on the front panel, by MIDI (either incoming Note On or CC).

The Input and Output expander mixer modules (coming soon) can be controlled by the MIDI from the main unit via infra-red (IR). No need for additional cables which might cause ground loops or interferences!

Features:
> High Voltage 16 X 16 Matrix both Analog and Digital (DC-coupled).
> Analog distortion: 0.01% (2 Vp-p)
> Analog Bandwith: 0Hz to 20KHz (+/-0,1 dB)
> Isolation between channels: 92 dB at 1KHz
> Inputs and Outputs buffered with low offset Op-Amp.
> Simple firmware upgrades by the front panel MIDI port.
> Direct Eurorack power supply.
> Eurorack 26 HP wide."

KOMA Elektronik starts pre-orders for KOMPLEX Sequencer

"25 June 2015, BERLIN, GERMANY
- The time has come! KOMA Elektronik is happy to announce the Komplex Sequencer is in production and pre orders have been opened on our website and at select dealers worldwide. To celebrate this we started a new section on our website called "Timeline" where you can have a look into the past year of working on the Komplex Sequencer. We are very excited that finally everybody else can experience the raw power of the Komplex soon! Our new step sequencer lets you construct complex musical patterns, via both MIDI and CV/Gate. Built around four full-featured 16-step sequencers in a compact and light enclosure, the Komplex Sequencer is a powerful tool both live and in the studio. All features have their own dedicated controls; no screens or submenus, and all features have their own dedicated in- and outputs on the large 87-point patch bay.

Connectivity and Quantization
By patching both internal and external CV sources through the patch bay of the Komplex, you can control any parameter of the sequencer immediately and “sequence the sequence.” Controls include Speed, Sequence Length, Gate Length, Play Mode, Glide, Division, Transpose, Repeat, Sequence Start Point and Skip. Additionally, the sequencer can vary output range and also has a quantizer on board operable in different scales. And not only is the sequencer compatible with almost any synthesizer with CV/Gate, MIDI note, velocity and CC information can also transmitted by any of the four sequencers. Lastly a seven bank CV Recorder is on board and can output up to 5 banks at once.

The Komplex Sequencer opens up a whole new world of creative possibilities and starts where other sequencers have stopped.

Here you will find the official User Manual which gives you all information surrounding our new release. First orders ship from the end of July onwards. Pre-orders via: http://koma-elektronik.com/new/ or select retailers worldwide. [dealers on the right]

"SDS IV Drum Synthesizer serial number 4007. In very good condition for its age. Other than the odd light scratch, the only marks are on the back where the previous owner has lightly sanded out his sprayed logo.

I've run it through an amp and it seems to work fine, but I'm not familiar with what it is capable of so I can't test every function.

You can find out more at: http://www.simmons.synth.net

Complete with stereo jack lead.

The mains socket has been bypassed with a long hard-wired 13A lead, but this could be easily restored."

Fully working and serviced for sale which included stripping, cleaning and re-bushing the entire keybed, changing capacitors, new powerlead and a new memory battery!

Also comes fully loaded with the original 120 factory patches! This synth sounds really incredible! Tunes reliably and solidly!

This is a late revision 3.3 model, which features an expanded 120 bank patch memory amongst other enhancements including importantly ones for reliability.

Physically while it is in excellent condition overall, it does have some marks, scratches and wear here and there from general use, it is 35 years old after all! One black/silver cap from a knob is missing(easily replaced)."

Our line-out recording got corrupted, so this is audio from the room -- pardon the sound quality! This should at least still give you a sense of what it looks & feels like to work on this striking instrument."

Effects4YourSynthesizer Ep2: Sinevibes Fraction

Published on Jun 25, 2015 Synth Anatomy

"Effects4YourSynthesizer is a special dedicated series of videos about special and crazy effects for making Synthesizers Sounds better and crazier. In this second episode I want to demonstrate your the new effect plugin by Sinvibes. It's an only AU Plugin for Mac and it call Fraction.

Fraction is something completely new, never seen before and it's a fusion of a beat slicer system and multi effect processor. Extremely powerful effect plugin for not a lot of money.

'Fraction is an effect plugin for deep real-time manipulation and re-engineering of sound. It features 8 slicers which record and repeat small portions of the input audio at defined points in time, slightly or radically changing the rhythmical arrangement. Each slice has three dedicated effect processors with a wide range of algorithms, and their parameters can be animated in perfect sync with the slice repeater. Rolls, stutters, fills, breaks and transitions can be done with unprecedented ease – but Fraction has enough power to create whole musical pieces out of almost anything'.

Software used:
- Presonus Studio One 3 Professional
- Rob Papen Predator Synthesizer
- Presonus Mai Tai Synthesizer
- Sinevibes Fraction Effect Plugin"
