Product Description

The 'Hell Synth' is a palm sized experimental synth you can buy prebuilt or as a kit. Little noise synths are often limited in the scope of their sound, either they grind aggressively like dive-bombing aeroplanes, or drone in massive arrays of humming square-waves.

THIS HELL SYNTH IS A LITTLE DIFFERENT! The range of sounds that come out of this little box will keep you twiddling for hours. There are oceans of glass, lightening fast arpeggios, swarming notes that dance in and out of phase.

This is the fifth version of this synth design and the tenth version of the software. I've been working to make sure it is fun to use while being full of awesome sounds.

So far there are THREE programs I have written for it including:

FROM HELL!!! V2: This is a hard-core noise synth with six digital wavetable oscillators, tons of glitch, modulation and waveforms. It also has midi out.

ARP BOX V2: A cute little arpeggiator with both audio and MIDI out, capable of everything from Casio-style acid crazy to bleepy-bloops.

Zsynth: Space radio, slow warping, phasing sweeps, pulsing beats and hums. MIDI out coming soon."

Note this appears to be the first one posted here on MATRIXSYNTH. If you take a look at the Garfield channel for the site, you will see similar looking devices but they are actually the Mini Doc and the Nano Doc. This is the FSK. Interesting bit of synth history.

"This auction is for the Polyphonic Synthesizer Programmer and the Polyphonic Keyboard - Mode, Portamento, Tune controller, for an Oberheim 8-voice synthesizer. Both modules - two modules total. The Oberheim 8-voice is a gargantuan beast and it is difficult to find spare parts for it. These were pulled from a working unit that was parted out for its SEM modules. They are being sold "as is" without warranty.

We also have the case with keyboard and power supply if you're interested; we will include this for free if you will pay the shipping. The case is kind of beat up and IMO not worth keeping. It does have various gaskets and connectors that could be used to attach it to a 4-voice upper cabinet. No lid. The keyboard part is in great shape as depicted, with no chipped or broken keys. The status of the power supply is unknown. The case is very heavy and will be expensive to ship..."

Melancholiday: A Live Multimedia Analog & Digital Synth Pattern Exploration

"This piece is the result of creating several patterns using the Yamaha MOXF8 pattern sequencer, and assigning various analog and digital synths which include:

Yamaha MOXF8 (driving all synths - NO computer used!
Korg ARP Odyssey
Moog Sub Phatty
Yamaha Motif ES Rack
Yamaha DX7IIFD

Pattern performance and tweaking all live to Behringer X32 two-track recorder. Video projection using Arkaos GrandVJ, triggered from MIDI pattern. Additional visual effects overlays added later.

The idea behind the different synths, some old, some new, was to create a piece where these synths and the styles from the era they came all came together for this piece. You'll hopefully hear several different and somewhat familiar musical riffs that are a tip of the hat to their time, either 70s, 80's, 90's or today. As I worked on the piece I kept thinking of several different pieces that these patterns and sounds reminded me of. Finally after all the major music patterns have been exposed and toyed with, I explore sonic territories created by the analog synths used, going from music to tweaking then back to music to finish.

I hope you enjoy the piece, a somewhat sad sounding piece (composed in and around the Paris tragedy) meant as a tribute to the big synth sounds of the past, present and future."

"I got my D1 today and couldn't resist filming a little improv with it. The patch is lovely and wobbly as there are three LFOs modulating the three VCOs at slightly different rates. I've only been playing with it for a couple of hours but I think this synth is a future classic. Hours of paraphonic phun!

This is straight audio from the Dominion 1, no effects, raw synth.

(Btw, the Xes on my hands are because I'm straight edge and they're leftover from this weekends hxc shenanigans.)"
