"This listing is very special. It is for the rare and interesting early version of what became the popular Roland Space Echo RE-201.

This one is unique in that it has a reloadable tape cartridge called the Sony Endless Tape RE-5 that can be reloaded with standard 1/4" tape when it wears out vs. the 8 track tape the RE-201 uses.

Functionally this is being sold as-is only because I'm not the original owner and don't know much about its history. I can say that it spits out echo when fed signal and all knob settings work. So it works. The motor sounds good and was apparently overhauled by Roland according to the previous owner. Once again I can't guarantee this. It's what I was told..."
