Schtang - Fossilized (Live Hardware Demo Jam: Korg E2, Volca Sample, ER-1 mk2) Downtempo [Free D/L]

Published on Mar 17, 2016 Schtang

"Head over to my soundcloud for free high quality music!
www.soundcloud.com/schtang

My first recorded Jam using my first 3 synths - the Korg Electribe 2, the Korg Volca Sample and the Electribe ER-1 mk2. The Electribe 2 provides the bulk of the synthesis and the dripping delayed sounds and some extra percussion and one-shots. The Sample gives the Kick/Snare combo and bass-line along with percussion while the ER-1 mk2 completes the package with some extra hats, claps and bleeps. This track was recorded in one take and was very roughly mastered in Ableton.

Some moody downtempo with multiple different feels, really enjoyed making this one!
Please show some support and like and subscribe, lemme know if you're feeling this one at all, big love!

Tempo: 95bpm

As per usual, you can grab yourself a high quality version of this track to take with you! Slap it on your slyphone or burn a CD in an oven and then put it on your floppy disk! Just follow this link:

WERSI AP-6 Analog Baß Bass Synthesizer Suitcase Synth

"Wersi Bass Synthesizer... modified to run on U.S. current. This synth sounds absolutely fantastic with the richest, deepest bass tones, and if you've ever considered adding a bass synth to your setup, this is the one! All buttons, switches, and sliders work perfectly, except for the wah wah slider control. Otherwise, all other controls and functions work perfectly (inlcuding the Wah Wah button controls). This unit was been looked over by my tech at Electronic Innovations in St. Clair Shores, Michigan.

Billed as two instruments in one: an Electric Bass Guitar and Synthesizer, this compact light-weight instrument from German organ builders WERSI was aimed at keyboard and organ players. The purpose was to give the organist/keyboardist some Bass Guitar and Synthesizer sounds they could incorporate into their performances. It is a monophonic analog synth with funky controls, decent sounds and a unique character."

Avril 14th (Sequencer 1 pattern chaining demo)

Published on Mar 17, 2016 Audio Damage, Inc.

"The purpose of this video is to show off the pattern chaining and multi-note output in v1.3 of the Audio Damage Sequencer 1 firmware. To do this, we programmed Aphex Twin's "Avril 14th" in its entirety.

For the patch, the pitch and gate outputs drive the main arpeggiated "bassline" of the song, a single WMD/SSF Spectrum oscillator to a Pole Zero filter (that is also the VCA.) Later in the song, a second Spectrum/Pole Zero voice is added to do the chords. This is driven with the CV2 output set to "Notes" and the CV3 output set to "Gate."

The main melody line is driven by Sequencer 1's CV1 output (set to "Notes,") with the ACCENT output providing gate duties. The voice itself is a prototype of our Proton self-contained waveguide voice, running to DubJr Mk2 (which is clocked from Sequencer 1) and thus to a Dimensions chorus.

The entire stereo signal is running through Ozone 7 to provide some mastering duties, and there is a touch of Audio Damage Eos for reverb."

via the seller: "I am selling this as non-working unit.It powers up.I think the problem is with the internal clock not working. There is a guy on You Tube who talks about this problem [possibly here, here, or here]. You can manually step through the events. All switches seam to be working .I don't have an analog keyboard anymore,so I can't input any notes or play anything out.I've taken a few pictures showing different numbers and lights on the display. These units are very rare..There were only less than 500 made.Mine is SN 072 .I also have the start/stop foot switch. This unit is also made for the US market (110v).Unlike the other unit listed from Japan that needs a power converter.I was the only owner. It sat in my smoke free personal studio for years. Then it was packed away.I might even have a photo copy of the circuit diagram somewhere that I will include if I find it.There is some scratches and nicks. But for as old as it is ,it's in good shape. No broken switches. All LED's light up.

The 800 consists of 16 toggle switches which enable "cells". Each cell can hold up to 16 note-events each. The cells are loaded from CV (control voltage) keyboard via the CV/gate inputs (1 volt per octave) and can be programmed over a 5-octave range. The Gate is switchable between S-trigger and voltage gate. An internal clock runs from 20Hz up to 5kHz to calculate absolute note length or beat division if being driven externally by a low frequency clock. External input is provided via a specially wired plug. A multi-pin parallel connector is used to hook two or more 800's together. A foot-pedal was available for toggling between record and play modes and start/stop. The CV/gate output is quantized to semitones (1/12). The gate can also be switched between S-trigger and voltage gate."

Modular strategies in shaping reflections Part V

Modular strategies in shaping reflections Part V from Roland Kuit on Vimeo.

The software is the Clavia Nord Modular editor.

"Radio lecture 24-02-2016 on the Concertzender:

Electronic Frequencies:

http://www.concertzender.nl/modular-s...

Modular strategies in shaping reflections and space:

An excerpt and simplified version of one of the lectures prepared for the Lindblad Studio, Göteborg, Sweden.

By Roland Kuit.

Electronic Music composers not only create sounds for their compositions.

They create the space where in these sounds are placed, or are even moving as well.

In this lecture the concept of space will be (re-)defined especially for modular synthesis.

Reflections are positional essentials in creating space.

How space can be thought of as an indispensable element of music,

and with the kinds of approaches that emerge when space is dealt with from the start producing a sound work.

As this is a stereo broadcasting, this lecture can not extend more than two channels.

Part of this lecture will be explained by use of very down to earth examples in witch modules and their connections are explained and followed by a more elaborated examples as musical sentences.

Electronic music is not just about pushing a few knobs, it is about creating concepts.

It is recommended to follow and/or download the patch structures for this lecture.

Sonic Meandering #3 - Modular & TR-8

Published on Mar 17, 2016 Simon Stokes

"Thanks for watching! Had a nice melodic jam today at 79bpm, using the modular setup and Roland TR-8. Got lost for an hour or so in this one..

Setup wise it's the modular is acting standalone with just a clock from Ableton via the Expert Sleepers awesome ES-3 module. That is clocking various thing (Qu-Bit NanoRand, some envelopes) but primarily for the Turing Machine (plus Pulses & Voltages expansions). This is my first track with the Voltages expander and it's amazing - all melodies in this track were created by this and modified using the Scale control, with the output running into the uScale for quantising so its in tune.

Oscillators used are the Make Noise STO (main osc), Synth Tech E350 (additional harmonies) and Braids (snare sound). These are processed through Pittsburgh & Make Noise filters before heading into the Intellijel Linix for mixing. The modular is running into a TC Electronic M350 for phaser and reverb FX, then into a Boss RE-20 for some lovely echoes.

Drums are courtesy of the TR-8. Always good to hear your thoughts or questions.

Thanks,
Simon"
