Details on the video further below. First the update:

iTunes: FieldScaper - Sound warp field recorder and scape constructor - iMusicAlbum

What's New in Version 1.5
● Full screen recorder / sample editor for iPhone landscape.
● Supported Dropbox service for download and upload files.
● Improved Inter-App Audio support as Musical Instrument and Effect.
● Supported Inter-App Audio MIDI connection, BPM and transport controls.

● Sending states of buttons and faders for display state on MIDI controller.
● Improved automatic start for mode "Loop A" in the looper.
● Improved user interface for built-in description.
● Updated description of the application.
● Several minor bugs have been fixed.

Full details on the setup in the video above can be found on Igor Vasiliev's site here. The following is only an excerpt:

"Two synthesizers (one with additional effect unit) were used as external audio sources for first oscillator in FieldScaper. This oscillator was configured in mode "Looper" - "Effect". Synthesizers were connected to two different input channels of external audio interface in mono mode. In the app these channels combined to one for use in oscillator. For this oscillator was used the slightly modified preset "Dark and foreboding places".

With this preset (as well as others) you can discover a whole new aspects of already familiar sounds and presets of synths. In other demo you can hear how this preset can transform sounding of usual synthesizer pad -"

Novation Circuit - un-boxing & first play, micro banshee

Published on Apr 26, 2016 Micro Banshee

"A very quick un-boxing and then first play - after picking up my Novation Circuit.
I’ve had very little time with it, there is really very little instruction supplied with the machine out of the box, so it’s up to the user to ‘discover’ how it works, and it’s fun doing just that!
Recorded live [26/04/2016]

As always, the track is recorded ‘live’

"This one is in excellent cosmetic condition and is working 100%. It is ready to be used and needs nothing! This one does not have the midi jacks as I didn't want to have any holes drilled into it, but it can be controlled via midi by the USB jack located in the battery compartment. All the data is stored into it's internal Eprom so batteries are no longer needed to maintain it's memory. Please go to the Social Entropy website to see the specs of this upgrade. It will come with the original silver gig-bag and a power supply."

Sonic Synth : FM synthesizer for iOS Released

iTunes: Sonic Synth : FM synthesizer - Aleksandar Mlazev

"Sonic Synth is very capable FM Synthesizer app with 3 oscillators. Every oscillator is independent and can generate 4 wave forms. The app works with 44100 Hz sample rate so the sound quality is great.

The touch keyboard is very responsive and dynamic - feels like a real instrument. Keys are big enough.

The last wave form is our secret algorithm for string sound also generated by the oscillators.

Variety of sounds can be created and even changed real time while you are playing using the setting of the 3 oscillators of the synthesizer.

Sonic Synth main features:
- 3 oscillators
- 4 wave form types for every oscillator
- volume, modulation, tone and detune for every oscillator
- envelope filters (attack sustain release)
- multitouch
- fast and usable piano keyboard

You can now use your phone or tablet as a recording instrument."

soundmachines Modulör114 Profile Pic & New Site

The soundmachines Modulör114 site is up. New profile pic of the semi-modular desktop synth. It definitely looks nice.

"We designed the MODULÖR114 as a perfect entry door to the eurorack modular world by putting together a great assortment of modules with the added functionalities of digital fx and advanced connectivity.

As the icing on the cake we implemented a hidden monosynth that you can recall at the touch of a button! This innovative capability matches perfectly with one of the potential uses of the MODULÖR114 synth, the classic lead and bass monophonic synthesizer. All the red labeled jacks will be connected together in the classic signal flow. Without using patchcords you can start playing just by plugging a usb keyboard in!"

New Ornaments & Crimes Polymorphic CV Generator Euorack Module

Uploaded on Apr 23, 2016 Tim Churches

"This video provides a very brief overview of version 1.0.0 of the Ornaments & Crimes firmware for the ornament & Crime DIY eurorack synthesier module by Max Stadler (mxmxmx). This enhanced firmware has been a collaborative effort by Patrick Dowling (pld) (who did a great deal of the work, and all the heavy lifting), Max Stadler (mxmxmx) (who designed the module and wrote all of the original firmware) and Tim Churches (bennelong.bicyclist)."

via GitHub:

"ornaments & crimes is a collaborative project by Patrick Dowling (aka pld), mxmxmx and Tim Churches (aka bennelong.bicyclist) (though mostly by pld and bennelong.bicyclist). it (considerably) extends the original firmware for the o_C / ASR eurorack module, designed by mxmxmx."

And additional details via mxmxmx:

"it can now be found here. and it runs on the (almost) eponymous module.

huge props go to pld and bennelong.bicyclist who've basically rewritten the firmware from scratch and mutated the thing beyond recognition, both in terms of functionality and performance.

everything is, of course, open source and we've even made a little schematic for you (NB: post-hoc). speaking of: special thanks must also to the ever-generous olivier gillet, on whose code much of this new functionality builds. (and the hardware, too, gradually gravitated towards being fairly MI-esque). not so much the user interface, which does everything the one-knob-per-function doctrine interdicts: displays, menus, encoders ... the payoff is that you get a polymorphic module that can serve several functions somewhat more transparently:

there is still a improved and enhanced quantising ASR (analogue shift register) function in ornaments & crimes, now named CopierMaschine, but several other "apps" have been added. these "apps" are selectable on-the-fly, without having to reboot the module or power-cycle.

The apps currently available in ornaments & crimes are:

Turing Machine MkII techno workout

Published on Apr 26, 2016 vcoadsr

"Improvised eurorack techno workout using the Turing Machine MkII module from MusicThing Modular and Thonk.

All the melodic sequences are coming for the Turing Machine which is being clocked by the Circadian Rhythms Tiptop module (which is also triggering the drums and Basimilus Iteritas).

The initial repetitive sound is coming from the Noise Engineering Basimilus Iteritas, then in comes the Make Noise Telharmonic who's pitch CV & trigger comes from the Turing Machine via the Expert sleepers Disting Mk3..

Drum duties are the Jomox ModBase 09 & Tiptop HH.

For reverb and delay I'm using the Make Noise Erbe-verb & Echophon as sends from my Mackie Onyx 1220i."

Roland SH-101 / RS-09 and Boss DR-55 Demo by Jordan Passmore

Published on Apr 26, 2016 Jordan Passmore

"In this video the Roland SH-101 is doing a sequenced bassline (which was programmed via the SH-101's internal sequencer), the Boss DR-55 the drums (also sending a sync trigger to the SH-101 so it stays in time) and the RS-09 the strings/organ. I used a Boss DM-2w analog delay on the SH-101 rather briefly and on the RS-09 through-out the video. It was mixed on the Roland M-16E with minimal EQ and the master stereo signal was finally sent to my Roland SuperUA audio interface (jesus, I have a lot of Roland stuff all of a sudden)."

"Tried out my Axoloti Core for the first time today and came up with this patch. Amazing hardware/software combo! Like a modern Nord Modular :D

Audio gear used:
- Axoloti Core with Synth/FX Patch, connected to CME Xkey (processing the Dronebox audio and creating expressive ambient synth sounds in stereo, with the internal engine and the keyboard. The sustain button triggers the sweeping noise, pitch bend adjusts one of several low pass filters and the mod wheel button pitches up one of the oscillators for bird-like chirping sounds)
- DIY Dronebox (2x Atari Punk Console, Winky Pedals Fuzz, PT Delay)
- Zoom R16 Recorder"

Details on the Corsynth C107 Quad Linear VCA / VC Mixer

via Corsynth

"We are really happy to announce that our new module, the C107 Quad Linear VCA / VC Mixer is now available.

The C107 Quad Linear VCA / VC Mixer is a combination of four voltage controlled amplifiers and four mixers.
This module is really useful either in big modular synthesizers or small/medium size systems. With four VCAs and four independent mixer outputs, the C107 Quad VCA / VC Mixer brings you a great routing flexibility in a only two units wide module, saving space and money.
The C107 Quad Linear VCA / VC Mixer is designed to work with audio and control signals and can be used in many different ways.

VirSyn Addictive Synth demo, by Pulse Emitter

Published on Apr 26, 2016 Pulse Emitter

iTunes: Addictive Synth - VirSyn

"It's true, my favorite synthesizer of the past year or so is not hardware, not a plug-in, but a $7 iPad app. That's right, it's VirSyn's Addictive Synth. They are no bedroom operation though, this German company has made serious soft synths for ages and has only in recent years started using their technology for iPad apps. This amazing little synth uses a unique combination of synthesis methods, incorporating additive, wavetable, FM, and filter morphing. The modulation section is hardwired just the way I like, I think this thing was made for me! Incredibly evocative, emotional, shifting tones. Great sounding effects, an awesome programmable arpeggiator, and the best random patch generation button ever! It yields so many useful results. Needless to say, in this video all sounds, effects, and arpeggios were made from the app itself with nothing else save a MIDI keyboard. All for the price of lunch (minus the cost of the iPad itself, haha).

This passion for electronic music ignited during the late 80s on a trip to Ibiza where he heard UK house for the first time. After that he didn't look back.

Now with over two hundred releases, an international DJ career, a successful record label and co-owner of Riverside Studios, Martin looks for what is next.

We talked to Martin (in between his busy schedule) at his riverside studio in Berlin about his work, synthesizers, studio and life.
