Update: official press release, new pics & audio demos added below.

"The fastest and most intuitive way to make beats. The latest system version 2 adds a much-requested pattern chain function that will be a great asset for live performances or music production. The lineup has also become more colorful with the new metallic model. And we've also provided bonus patterns that reveal even greater sonic potential."

The new electribe

"Following the chic gray unit, the lineup has been joined by a metallic blue model that's reminiscent of the previous model, the ELECTRIBE MX. Complemented by the numerous colorfully illuminated LEDs, this unit will energize your playing.

Updates make the electribe evolve daily. System version 2 adds support for the much-requested pattern chain function and undo function, as well as support for original value display. Users who already own an electribe can update their unit and then enjoy playing."

Update: The official press release with two new hi-res pics and SoundCloud demos:

"electribes, Evolved; New Editions of Korg’s Intuitive Electronic Music Production Stations
New Features. New Patterns. New Colors. New Possibilities

Melville, NY - - July 21, 2016 - -Korg’s electribe line of Music Production Stations have been leading the world's dance music scene for over a decade thanks to their intuitive controls and powerful sound engines. Continuing the lineage, Korg announces the new V2 electribe and electribe-Sampler. Both units offer new 2.0 software, which provide user-requested features such as pattern chain, one-level undo and an onscreen original value indicator.

As a nod to the best-selling and preceding ESX1 and EMX1, the electribe is offered in an “EMX” metallic blue and the electribe sampler an “ESX” metallic red. Both models bring fresh energy to any performance with effortless knob-based sound creation, complemented by the numerous colorfully illuminated LEDs. All electribes also offer Ableton Live export for fast computer/DAW integration.

To further expand on the updates, pattern chaining allows users to string patterns together to create full songs, providing users with the ability to chain with minimal limitation. One-level undo allows users to undo recordings with the press of a couple of buttons. The original value indicator enables users to see the original position of any knob on the panel for any part.

Korg has also created 400+ brand-new bonus patterns (200+ each for the sampler and synth) all available for download from korg.com. These new patterns, along with the V2.0 Operating System, are available for free to all electribe owners.

The electribe2BL and electribe2SRD will be available in August of 2016 for $399.99. To learn more about Korg’s full line of electribes visit www.korg.com."

It has 2 envelopes, 3 oscillators with a wide range of functions, 2 LFOs, plus 1 LFO for modulation wheel\aftertouch. Oberheim Matrix 6 - Vintage DCO/Analogue MIDI Polysynth SN 704029

"It's a versatile six voice synth with huge potential for modulation routings thanks to the Oberheim "modulation matrix" which was featured in the synths of the same name. You can route just about anything to anything else quite frankly. The keyboard is velocity and also aftertouch sensitive so allows for some quite expressive playing when called upon. There are two DCOs per voice with the remaining audio path being analogue. The envelopes are digitally generated but there's no stepping in the feel of them even when slow. It's great for pads and strings as well as far out crazy modular effects too. There are a number of editors for these and even with the data entry, programming is not too tricky, especially as there's a handy crib sheet on the panel."

"Another track taken from my forthcoming album performed live. For this one I am using a combination of hardware and software. I am sequencing the TR8, TB3, and Korg Volcas from Ableton and launching the midi clips from Push as I perform. This gives me the ability to have longer sequences without the restrictions of 1 bar patterns on the hardware. I can also use Live's internal fx.

Equipment used...
Ableton Live
Ableton Push
Aira TR-8, TB-3, MX-1, System 1
Korg Volca Bass
Korg Electribe 2
Yamaha TMX7 drum module
iPad running Rebirth app for second TB303 sound"

Live Acid Electronica - "VorteX"- Roland TR8, TB3, System 1, MX1, Volca Bass

Published on Jun 17, 2016

"Live performance of a new track called VorteX which will appear on my forthcoming new album. This is basically all hardware performed using the Roland TR-8, TB-3, System 1 and MX-1 along with Korg Volca Bass and Korg Electribe 2. I am using Ableton Push with Live just to trigger the sound fx and risers etc - all the song parts are coming from the hardware.

What you are hearing is the raw recorded audio - no extra mixing or processing.

The M-Audio Trigger Finger Pro is the master midi clock source.

Kawai K5000W Synthesizer Factory Demo Songs

Published on Jul 19, 2016 Sound Programming

"Factory demo songs from the Kawai K5000W, an additive synthesizer from 1997.

Song list:

1. BADD (0:00)
2. ADDITUDE (2:46)
3. SCORE (5:19)
4. WARP5000 (6:46)
5. WELC5000 (9:15)

The K5000W is a hybrid synthesizer in that it combines both additive synthesis and waveform-based subtractive synthesis in the same engine. There are two other versions in the series: the K5000S, which trades the General MIDI wave ROM for real-time control knobs, and the K5000R, a rackmount version. The K5000 series builds on the basic additive synthesis that was in the earlier Kawai K5 synthesizer, but adds a lot more control, more effects, and greater capabilities all around.

This video has been edited to skip the file loading process. Each song takes about 15-20 seconds to load from the demo floppy disk before play begins."
