I'm not selling anything, nor promoting (except at worse promoting the original footage, getting people who never saw or heard about it to be curious). My music is for free and I have a different job for living. These are no compositions, only patch impros on modular systems. I'm sharing with friends some moments."

Rephazer - Roustabout (Ft. Walter Brown, Teenage Engineering OP-1, Sony M-550V)

Published on Sep 14, 2016 Rephazer

"Hello, I got this second hand little Sony M-550V Microcassette Recorder for around 15 bucks and thought it would be a nice companion for my OP-1 to do some vocal/acapella stuff.

It's got a line in and out, 2 speeds and it's very sensible for movement (also featured lol) and there was even a cassette included with some dutch mumbling ;)

Anyway, this is just a first test/experiment featuring a great story of Walter Brown on tape which I hope you'll enjoy :)

Have a nice day! Cheers."

And the press release:

"In Berlin, everyday is now a workshop day.
KOMA Elektronik opens Common Ground, a new electronics makerspace.

Common Ground is the latest project by the crew behind KOMA Elektronik—a new community workspace, maker lab, and storefront for synthesizer-lovers, modular geeks, coders, DIY hackers, and nerds in general based in Berlin-Neukölln.

Over the past 5 years, KOMA has been building audio effects, synth modules, sequencers and other machines to make music with. We are an international group of musicians, artists, engineers, and lovers of life living in Berlin's neighborhood of Neukölln. After working in a more secluded office around the corner, we now think the time has come to share our passion for DIY culture, electronics, and electronic music with the world. We call it Common Ground.

Common Ground is a place where people interested in electronics and electronic music can come together, build together, and learn together. Our team and Werkstatt offer a place where everne from beginners to seasoned pros can realize their visions and complete their most daring projects. We believe that by doing it yourself, you will better understand how electronic machines work and how you can use them.

At Common Ground, you can rent a desk to work on your own project in a professional environment with industry-standard equipment; buy a kit at the counter and build it on site; attend workshops; see performances and discuss with makers of all backgrounds about their craft. We have an ever-changing assortment of used synthesizers and drum-machines, from classics to obscurities.

In our machine room, you can rent time on our drill-press, CNC machine, SMD soldering reflow oven, or 3D printer. We offer alcoholic and non-alcoholic refreshments, both in-house and to take away. For when you want to meet people in private, we’ve opened a schnaps deck overlooking the shop room, where customers can serve themselves.

We look forward to welcoming you into our new space to all find common ground together.
Our doors are now open on Weisestr. 24, 12409 Berlin, Mon-Thu 12-8pm, Fri 12-10pm and Sat 12-6pm!

BURG - revolving doors (make noise 0coast, TR-8, System-1, KORG volca)

Published on Sep 14, 2016 ollilaboratories

"If you like my stuff, please support me on http://music.ollilab.com/

After waiting a looooong time for the 0-coast to get back in stock i finally got it today... had to try it out at once, and this is basically the first sounds that came out of it. Really love this little beauty, it will take a little time to get used to it i guess.. if it gets too weird i always have my trusty elektron A4 to slap on some low pass filter if needed :)

Nothing special, just a jam... heavily influenced by 70s style psychedelic melodies. And yep you heard it correctly, there are some errors while playing, because it is live and first take.. As always, and you should know it by now.. no computers, all hardware and live straight to 2-track!

Gear used: Make Noise 0-coast, elektron A4 (sequencer and FX for the 0-coast), korg volca keys + ms-70 CDR, korg volca bass + strymon timeline, TR8, System-1 and the Korg Kaoss

Cheers, i hope you can enjoy it!"

Harmonic Engine DIY PCB - E&MM Harmony Generator clone

Published on Sep 14, 2016 circuitbenders.co.uk

"PCB's can be bought from: http://www.circuitbenders.co.uk/forsa...

The circuitbenders.co.uk Harmonic Engine PCB is a clone of the E&MM Harmonic Generator. This was a project originally designed by Paul Williams, and published in Electronics & Music Maker magazine way back in 1981.The circuit generates a squarewave output at harmonic intervals to the frequency of an input signal.

Thats the theory anyway, the practice is a little different............."

Patch 30082016 // Hand movements B

Published on Sep 14, 2016 Computing.Sound

"Trying out some motion control.

Sine wave from a self-oscillating Doepfer A-108 VCF8 going into a A-135-1 QVCA and then further processed with a Zoom MS-70CDR.

Frequency and volume are controlled by hand movement with a Koma Kommander motion controller via it's CV outputs.
Like a simple theremin.

I wanted to try a minimal patch, otherwise I would have added a slew limiter or two."
