"Van Halen 'Jump' played on a Sequential Prophet 6 synthesizer, made by Dave Smith Instruments. The program was created from scratch, it is not a factory preset. The only effect is the bbd delay built into the Prophet 6."

"...more experimentation with my new Sequential Dave Smith Instruments Prophet 6 synthesizer. This time, using MIDI I connected it to a Yamaha MX49, the baby Motif. The Yamaha is providing the perfect DX7 'FullTines' sound, and the secret technique here is that it's combined with a fat analog brass patch on the Prophet. It's a marriage of digital and analog synth sounds, which really captures that 1980s feel, when digital and analog equipment were coexisting in the studios for a while. A bit of 1980s nostalgia..."
