DreamsOfWires - AJH Synth Mini Mod solo improvisation

Published on Nov 12, 2017 DreamsOfWires

"Back home after a busy month away, and back to my favourite toys.

This is only something very simple and free-form, with a single voice, just to enjoy the sound of the instrument. My recording doesn't do the Mini Mod justice, but it has a satisfyingly big, warm and characterful sound.

I start with a single VCO, then add a second, then a third, all tuned to different pitches. The 'mod' touch pad on the Keystep (plus my finger) is controlling filter cutoff via CV, and I'm tweaking resonance directly on the filter front panel.

Recorded into AUM on an iPad, via an iConnectAUDIO4+, using Audio Damage's 'Eos 2' for reverb. A Frequency Central LFO is connected to the VCO's PWM.

Cloud footage was recorded on an iPhone SE, synth footage was recorded with a Sony RX100 IV and a LUMIX GX7.

Please don't ask for more technical details than that, it's really not that important and gets tedious. All that matters is the results and the enjoyment getting there..

To my subscribers/followers so far - thank you for your support and patience, it genuinely means a lot to me.
