Happy New Year from MATRIXSYNTH! A Quick Look Back at 2017

Happy New Year everyone!

We have to keep this one short as the festivities are about to begin of course.

I just wanted to wish everyone a happy 2018! Keep strong and remember you are never alone. At least not as long as MATRIXSYNTH is around! :) I hope this site provides an escape for everyone. Remember to take time out to play your gear!

As for gear... In 2017 we saw a total of 764 new products featured on the site along with 119 new makers on the scene. We also saw 29 vintage products never featured on the site before. The following is the break down (you can click on each to bring up the posts in reverse order. Note only 20 posts per page will load so don't worry about overwhelming your browser):

14 New Cases
28 New Controllers
106 New DIY projects
119 New Makers
63 New Mobile Apps
343 New Modules
80 New Soft Synths
40 New Sound Machines
9 New Sound Packs
32 New Synth Effects
106 New Synths
47 New Tools
29 New Old Products

Update: 1/8/2017: I forgot to mention the stand out posts of 2017! You can find them here. There were 62 this year. These are essentially the rare and oddball synths you may not have known existed or you rarely ever see.

No New Years post is complete without a look back at who we lost in the synth community. This year we lost five:

William Onyeabor - Nigerian Electronic Funk Pioneer as well as Nigeria's 1st Moog Dealer
Ikutaro Kakehashi, Founder of Roland
Mika Vainio of Pan Sonic
David Alan Luce - Former President of Moog Music & Creator of the Polymoog
Pierre Henry

I hate ending on a sad note, but we can't forget who we lost.

I wish everyone a great 2018. Make the best of it!

Thank you for taking the time out of your busy days to visit the site. Thank you to all who take the time out to create the videos showcasing the gear we love, and of course the makers who make the gear that inspire us. And finally, thank you to all the supporting members of MATRIXSYNTH, and of course the sponsors you see via the banners on the site!

See you on the other side! :)

Analogue Solutions TREADSTONE synthesizer - Audio Demo #1 SYNTHBLOCK

Published on Dec 31, 2017 rezfilter

"Take it up a notch!

Here's an audio demo of the Analogue Solutions Treadstone SynthBlock synthesizer -- basically, this video features a variety of sound types using no external processing. All FX you hear in the video are from the Treadstone.

In this lengthy video, MIDI and/or CV was used to trigger the synth, and all examples were live tweaking captured to DAW.

More to come!"

Vintage Synth Lab : D-ENV

Published on Dec 31, 2017 Vintage SynthLab

"The D-ENV is two modules in one. A utility and effect, for both module functions. A standard exponential analog envelope generator (AR/ADSR), plus a Delayed Gate / Trigger & Gate-Hold with independent access to all both module functions, yet linkable via the push of a front panel switch--in order to route either a Delayed Gate or Delayed Trigger to the inertial AR/ADSR as initial EG triggering or additional "re-trigger" of the AR/ADSR function."

Goodbye 2017

Published on Dec 31, 2017 Joe Miller

"A final jam for the weirdest year in recent memory. Recently studying the Octatrack and this came from that.

Patch concept: Lock clocks from Octatrack to modular and use some sampled and sliced beats along with Modular improv.... and OT delay freeze FX trigs.

Patch Notes:
Mostly sequencing everything from Stillson Hammer mkii. Telharmonic makes some weird FM plucks on Ch 1. Mysteron on Ch2 provides the waveguide hits with modulation to the decay cv input. Telharmonic N output makes a high freq hi hat style pattern on Ch3. STO makes a kick drum on Ch4. Rings is on Ch5 with the output being gated from Batumi (square output on a clock divided sequence). Clouds processes a sample on Ch7. Everything hits the DLD which returns on Ch8.

Octatrack hosts a drum sample on Ch1 and HH sample on Ch5. Modular is Thru on Ch7. Master as Ch8. Various freeze delay on each channel."

Front panel translation below. You can find video of the new VG Line RITM-2 posted here.

"The Ritm-2 synthesizer made by VG-Line is a direct recreation of the ’80s Soviet one-osc monophonic analogue synthesizer, РИТМ-2 also known as Ritm Dva or Rhythm-2, in a form of small-sized desktop module, which can be controlled via MIDI or CV/Gate. The original model was itself inspired by small-sized analog Moog synthesizers and the sound of this little synth was pretty close to Moog but it had number of distinctive properties making it unique: A specific VCO with unusual distorted triangle waveform, VCO waveform mixer, a bit more non-linearity in the VCA and a little distortion in the output stage. Also, the original model had two full-featured ADSR envelopes on-board — a pretty rare feature for this class of monosynths. One of these envelope generators had the Cycle feature.

The new desktop synthesizer has the almost identical set of features and controls as the original, but it also has a number of improvements:

More reliable and stable modern power supply. No more 20 minutes warm-up for the stable tune!
MIDI In and Thru
LFO rate can be synchronized with the MIDI Clock
LFO rate knob works in the traditional direction, opposite to the original, reversed direction
Note Velocity can be assigned to VCA level (selectable)
Audio Input with level adjust control in the Mixer Section
CV inputs for Pitch, VCF Cutoff Frequency, PWM, VCA, and V-Gate input for triggering envelope generators
Specifications:

1 VCO with at least 5 octaves stable tracking
3 VCO waveforms: Triangle, Sawtooth, Pulse with PWM
White Noise generator
4-channel Mixer for Tri/Saw, Pulse, Noise and Audio In
24dB low-pass transistor ladder filter with keyboard tracking
1 LFO with Triangle, Square, and Sample & Hold waveforms
2 ADSR envelope generators, one with gated AR Cycle mode
Selectable modulation sources for VCO pitch: LFO Tri, LFO Sqr, SnH
Selectable modulation sources for VCF: ADSR, LFO Tri, SnH
MIDI-control with selectable channel via Learn button
Inputs:

MIDI Input (DIN-5)
Audio Input (1/4″ TS Jack)

Main VCO is the new Grayscale DAO "Dual Algorithmic Oscillator" - a Buchla format module build and sold by Grayscale:

http://grayscale.info/buchla/

More exploration! Actually, I was just enjoying the tone of one of the SYNC setting for one of teh 2x VCO's! - The main sequence is from the 250e in a sort of "quantizer" setup... with a S&H patch on the 266e controlling what stages of the 250e. I used a 254e to mix and offset voltages from the 250e and the 218e.

Outputs of the Buchla are patched into the AKS, then patched through the Synthi eq and spring reverb.

Cheers! - Djangosfire"

Ensoniq EPS - Synthesized Loop

Published on Dec 30, 2017 100 Things I Do

"The Ensoniq EPS was the first sampler I owned. This was in the early 2000's and by this time anything less than 16 bit 32mb ram was considered unusable so I picked it up for a few hundred dollars and started to build my studio around it. Of course being the early 2000's I started lusting after a AKAI S1000 with 16 bits and 32mb of RAM :D... So the EPS was sold and Akai was purchased. I lust now after the S1000 for the looks and memories but not really anything about the sound.

I was fortune a few months ago to pick up another EPS and was surprised how much of how to work the beast I was able to remember. Not long until I was sampling again and using those magical Loop algorithms. There is something very special in what they can do. Making your sample sound a lot like a Fairlight all the way to almost totally changing the character of the sound!

Today I focus on the Synthesized Loop option! It really works strange magic across any short sample! Sorry about the light fading in and out at the start of the clip, I need to get some decent studio lights.

I'm thinking of doing a series of clips where I review...mostly verbally All the synths I have owned to date (I'm shocked how many!). If you think this would be interesting let me know in the comments and I will make a start in the new year!"

Rheyne - Three Mothers

Published on Dec 30, 2017 Rheyne

Playlist:

1. Rheyne - Three Mothers, part 1 (Moog Mother-32 self-oscillating filter)
The first of three vids using only Moog Mother-32 synths. In this patch, all sounds are from the self-oscillating filters. The VCOs and LFOs are only used for modulation. The sequencers are playing the default 1-step pattern, with stepped-random voltages from the assignable outputs controlling the pitch of the filters and the rate of the LFOs.

The output of each synth was sent to a Yamaha MG12XU mixer, with a Strymon BigSky on an aux-send. Audio was recorded onto a Tascam DR-44 directly from the mixer. Although it sounds like there's delay present, these are actually modulations from a square LFO. The only effect is reverb from a BigSky.

2. Rheyne - Three Mothers, part 2 (Moog Mother-32 pad, bass, and melody)
In this patch, the top Mother handles bass, the middle Mother plays the slow melody, and the bottom Mother is the pad / arpeggio saturated in reverb.

3. Rheyne - Three Mothers, part 3 (Moog Mother-32 x3)
The third of three vids using only the Moog Mother-32 (x3). The top Mother handles the slow melody, bass is from the middle Mother, and the bottom Mother-32 handles both the kick and the snare (2 voices from one Mother). Reverb is from a Strymon BigSky. The only other equipment used was a Yamaha MG12XU and a Tascam DR-44.

Fun with a Kobol

Published on Dec 30, 2017 yusynthman

I shot this video to test the Kobol synthesizer that I repaired for a friend. The Kobol is sequenced by a Q960 Synthesizers.com . The sound is recorded by the camera microphone therefore don't expect high quality... and sometimes one can hear me breathing (100% biological noise generator). As the sequence loops I have fun improvising with some of my synths : Waldorf MicroWave XT, Manikin Memotron, Arturia MatrixBrute, Yamaha CS15, lCrumar Multiman S and "Main Console" of the Roland System 700 modular"

Induction Conduction

Published on Dec 30, 2017 davidryle

"The Last Drone of 2017. A modular synth piece. The bass drone is a pair of Q106 VCO's with a ramp and a saw wave into the Q150 Transistor Ladder filter. Modulations coming from some Mega Ohm Audio LFO's. The audio is then sent through a Synthetic Sound Labs S1310 Digital Delay which is modulated by another Mega Ohm Audio LFO.
Mutable Instruments Braids (Frees State FX build in 5U) along with the triple saw mode. A synthesizers.com Q960 step sequencer sends the voltages for the slow changing chords. Frequency Modulation is from the Yusynth Quadrature LFO. The mixed signal is then sent through a Z.Vex Instant LoFi Junky pedal and on to a moogah (Synthcube) SEM filter in high pass/notch mode.
A dual walking sequencer line is faded in and out. It is made with a pair of STG Soundlabs Voltage Mini Stores in a 5 against 7 step pattern. They are sent through quantizers on to a pair of Q106 VCO's. One VCO is sent through a Behringer DD400 digital dely module and the other VCO is sent through a Modcan 73B Dual Delay. They are mixed into an Oakley Audio (Krips1) Diode Super Ladder filter in low pass mode.
A fast 24 step sequencer line from another Q960 is playing a Q106 VCO triangle waveform into a Mega Ohm Audio modified Q109 Envelope Generator and on out to a TC Electric D-Two digital delay. They are faded in and out via a Makenoise Maths and Synthetic Sounds Labs Octal VCA.
The final bell sound is a step sequence from a Q119 into a trio of Q106's. Two of the VCO's are used in an FM sync mode with ramp and saw waves, and the third VCO is a triangle waveform. They are sent to the X and Y inputs of the Oakley Ring Modulator (Krisp1). That is sent to a Q107 State Variable Filter in low pass mode. The filter is modulated by the modulator VCO (triangle output) if the two Q106's in FM mode. The signal is voltage panned to stereo with a Q111 Pan/Fade module.
All timings are taken from Cubase midi out to dinsync via Mode Machine converter. The BPM is 80. ALM's Pamela's Workout, Synthesizers.com Q173 Gate Math, STG Soundlabs Time Buffer, Time Divider and Integer Divider modules divide down the timings for all sequencer events. I just performed final mix fade in and fade out. Additional reverbs and delays are from a pair of Lexicon MX200 delays."

"Fantastic rare vintage gem. Unfortunately need repair.

I bought it in full working condition but it's broke during shipping.

The power supply of the drum machine broke. (see photos, I have the broke part).
I took it to service (only the drum machine) but they didn't do really good job.
The drum machine is now working but two rhythm (foxtrott and shuffle) doesn't work.
When pushing "orgel stuerung" it's muting everything. Need restart.
Please watch video, it's about the actual item.

The WM24b organ doesn't work. That wasn't in service. I don't know what the problem is with it. Maybe just the power (it's get the power from the drum machine). Therefore can't test the pedal..

I belive all is repairable. But I'm tired to search the right tech guy here.

Hope it go into good hands who can bring it back to life!"

"Huge 3 oscillator synth. This machine is simply packed with features. 3 oscillators, 2 LFOs, step sequencer, 2 filters (one LP, one state variable), looping envelopes, overdrive to the filters, auto-pan, MIDI, patch points - this has it all.

If you're looking for an addition to your setup that can bring that old school Berlin style sound and sequencing or you are looking for a sonic playground to explore uncharted sounds, this is the box for you.

The mod routings are comprehensive and easy to follow. The filters can go everywhere from subtle to cranking squelchy resonant mayhem. After a year with the GRP, you'll still be discovering new things it can do.

MIDI makes it easy to hook up and start playing and you can even decide to control some VCOs from MIDI and others from the sequencer. Very cool."

"Everything works fine. No issues. The piece has very unique, warm analogue sounds. This synth was made in 1978 and comes with great useful features such as the pitch wheel, which can be assigned to parameters such as the VCA, VCO and VCF. It also comes with a great LFO, which can be set to very slow speed, allowing you to make various FX and sweeps. The arppegiator function is also very cool, with easy and flexible control. One push button is missing.

The first Jupiter synth. It was among one of the first poly synthesizers (4 individual voices which could be synced together for one fat monophonic lead), it had a pitch wheel that could be assigned to the VCA, VCF, VCO or all together, there are 8 memory locations and a cool arpeggiator - the arpeggiator can be heard in the Duran Duran classic, "Rio". It also has a very slow LFO for those ever-so-long filter sweeps. Pretty good for 1978!"

"1977 ARP Avatar Vintage Guitar Synthesizer with Pickup / Cable / Footswitch / Manual / Promos. Used but not abused, some sliders are a bit 'sticky' but work. Unlike most Avatars this one works great, sounds great and tracks surprisingly well (better than any I've heard). It's important to find the sweet spot when mounting the pickup. You get the Avatar, original pickup, original pickup cable, original footswitch, original manual, original service manual with fold out schematics, and original promo literature with flexi record. Guitar not included."

Folktek Mescaline Honeymoon patches

Published on Dec 30, 2017 While We Were Sleeping

"A selection of patches of my new Folktek Mescaline. Mainly recorded on our first weekend together.

The patches are:
0:00 - Intro - Sound and visuals not related - sound is: Channel sequenced by Motion
00:22 - 1 - Sweet Highs - Mescaline Channel high notes inc Polyphony
00:56 - 2 - Mescaline after Setup - Channel after/while tuning and calibration (Mescaline does sound badly out of the box but tuning it is part of it's charm)
01:25 - 3 - Tuning Mental - More like messing about with Mescaline Mental. Motion is sequencing Mental while I play with the trimmers on the back.
01:50 - 4 - Sequenced LFO - Using Motion CV Sequencer to change the rate of Motion's LFO.
02:09 - 5 - Broken Beats - all 3 Channel, Mental & Motion
02:23 - 6 - Thunder Touch - The Folktek Mescaline is a mysterious device.
02:38 - 7 - Dark - The Folktek Mescaline has some deep and dark tendencies just waiting for you to uncover.
03:00 - 8 - The march of the dead - The Folktek Mescaline does not only do dark, it can do creepy and disturbing to.
03:36 - 9 - Short Delay - A big part of the Folktek Mescaline sound is its reverb but the other effects are just as cool.
03:57 - 10 - Softly - Another Channel sequenced by Motion
04:12 - 11 - Out Of Darkness - long take - using the filter on Channel to crearte movement (FYI: the filter only works on the dsp effected sound)
05:51 - 12 - Slow Descent - long take - Another dark patch playing with the pitch, feedback and filter on Channel
07:35 - 13 - Drone - The filter on the Channel DSP reverb is mainly to cut the noise out with combination of lower feedback. But letting some noise through is fun in my opinion
08:17 - easter egg - Love this patch but had no visuals for it so left it hanging at the end. hope you got that far.

The Folktek Mescaline is a set of 3 eurorack modules with its own frame to mount them. it uses jumper cables as well as standard eurorack patch cables for connecting to your other eurorack gear. it was originally launched on indiegogo
The Mescaline modules are:

Channel
A 10 note polyphonic touch synthesizer with a sweet, warm sound and a huge custom designed reverb + 3 other dsp efects

Motion
Motion is made up A CV sequencer, A gate sequencer with opto-couplers an LFO and much much more.

Mental
An incredibly unique drum/drone synth Based on the root synthesis of other folktek devices.

The whole thing is designed for sound exploration and at list so far I am never sure if its me that is in control or Mescaline tweaking my brane.
The key is to let go of how you view a sensitisers and enjoy the Journey.

Doepfer A-101-1 Vactrol Filter: overview (LMS Eurorack Expansion Project)

Published on Dec 29, 2017

"Also known as the 'Steiner' filter (as it’s an enhancement of a circuit Nile Steiner first published in 1974), this nice-sounding 2-pole multimode self-oscillating filter with vactrols on the cutoff and resonance inputs is unique in that it has a separate _input_ per filter mode, allowing the creation of alternate modes as well as frequency-dependent crossfades between multiple sources. The overview video breaks down like this:

0:00 some examples
0:41 circuit heritage
1:28 understanding vactrols
3:42 filter inputs, modes, and sweeps
7:30 resonance behavior
10:15 enveloping cutoff (including pinging the vactrol)
11:31 enveloping resonance (brass; percussion)

There is a second movie available that explores combining and fading between multiple inputs. It is included in the version of the Eurorack Expansion course on the Learning Modular website, and is being shared (along with additional notes) with my Patreon supporters.

X1L3 - circuit bent Casio PT-50 with midi retrofit - C64 Knuckle Busters theme

Published on Dec 29, 2017 manufacturedZ3R0

"Robots and casiotones. Casio PT50 with midi retrofit doing a by ear interpretation of a section of the in game tune from the Commodore 64 game Knuckle Busters, written by the brilliant Rob Hubbard.

Midi is coming in from reason and filter cutoff is being controlled by a diy build of a yarns midi to cv module in the eurorack, also taking in midi from reason from the modwheel to generate the filter sweep cv for the casio.

A fairly straightforward lead part taken on by the PT50 for most of it. It then draws to a close with the ruiner/ringmod coming into play to generate discord. There's a delay fitted to the PT which is used subtly to warm the casiotones.

I haven't seen one of these in a while. I believe they were introduced in the Frankfurt Musikmesse in 2009 as you can see in this video.

"The Pedal Keys 27 is a MIDI pedal board with 27 keys, equipped with an integrated swell pedal. The entire unit is housed in a sturdy aluminum chassis that makes it both lightweight and rugged. It communicates via MIDI and can be used with other MIDI compatible equipment.

To use it with a Nord C2 organ, just connect the MIDI on the Pedal Keys 27 to the Bass Pedal MIDI input on the C2 and activate the Bass section on the C2.

The long keys have a wooden finish and a length of 350 mm (13.8"), to facilitate the use of a proper toe-heel technique when playing. The short keys are colored gray in order to provide a better visibility even in a very dark environment.*

The Pedal Key 27's range is from C2 to D4, MIDI notes 36 to 62. The Pedal Keys transmit on MIDI channel 3. The swell pedal is easily mounted on the top panel, providing you with a comfortable and direct access to this important functionality. The resistance of the pivotal travel of the pedal can be set by using two internal adjustment screws inside the pedal housing."

Organelle v3 - what is it, what's new, and how instruments are built using open source

Published on Dec 29, 2017 loopop

"The new OS v3.0 even further expands on the Organelle's capabilities, including WIFI (and Ableton Link), opening up OLED graphics and support for non-Pure Data patches, like those written with SuperCollider.

Slightly over 2 years after its release Organelle now comes with over 60 factory instruments ("patches") and dozens of additional ones created by the Organelle user community, including ports of the popular Mutable Instruments Eurorack modules.

In this clip I explain what the Organelle is, what’s new and why it’s important as an open source instrument. I’ll show what Pure Data is and how one patch made it’s way through four different developers that over time all contributed (without knowing each other, or that it will end up on Organelle) by "standing on each others’ shoulders" via open source to bring Mutable Instruments Grids ("Take the user interface of an euclidean sequencer, a healthy dose of machine learning and graph algorithms, megabytes of drum loops, hours of intensive computations and you’ve got a drum pattern generator like no other”) to the Organelle, wirelessly synchronized to an iOS device via Ableton Link."

Prophet REV 2 PlugSE™ Editor by SoundTower

Available via SoundTower

"Prophet REV 2 PlugSE™ is an audio plug-in dedicated to your Prophet REV 2 synthesizer.

This proprietary plug-in is installed in your audio software as a Virtual Instrument (VST or AudioUnits) and will control all of the functions found on the Prophet REV 2.

Stunning graphics, intuitive functions and easy to use menus make tweaking the Prophet REV 2 hardware fun and easy.

Its most important ability is to automate every function of the hardware synth for synchronized playback with your session. Adjusting the timing and the values of all automation data allows you to perfect the performance prior to committing the audio to disk or to use the automation during your live performance.

The PlugSE™ works with any Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) or audio software (like Cubase, Ableton Live, Logic, Nuendo, Digital Performer and many others) that supports VST or AudioUnits (AU) plug-ins.

While it doesn’t feature some advanced editing found in the standalone SoundEditor, the PlugSE™ allows you to automate all parameter changes.

Automate the parameters and let your fingers do the playing."

Moog Synthesizer Prodigy Expander Prototype Serial No 001

Note: Auction links are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.

via this auction

"This is the prototype of the Moog Prodigy, called the Moog Prodigy Xpander. This is the ONLY one I've ever seen.

This tabletop module was going to compete with the Oberheim SEM, but Moog Music in the late 70's decided to go with the keyboard version of the Prodigy, and many of them are still in service today.
It works perfectly, sounds incredibly fat, and it's oscillator sync sounds so much better than other analog synths.

I was a rep/dealer/consultant in the 70's and 80's to many golden age companies including Moog Music, (Williamvsille, and Buffalo factories,) Polyfusion, Sequential Circuits, Oberheim, Pearce Amps, and was a consultant to Les Paul.

Owning this for synthesists, is analogous to being a guitarist and owning Fender Stratocaster 001.

Most Moog experts weren't aware of this prototype, but being a rep, and living just 10 miles from the Moog factory, gave me an advantage to obtain rare pieces like this. Tony Marchese was the head engineer on this rare piece.

I met Bob Moog at the age of 19 in 1973, and he became my mentor, helping me in those early days to learn all I could about electronic music.
You'll need a MIDI to CV convertor to use this.

Obviously, this is for true Moog fans, and collectors."

"A superb 1976 Minimoog for sale recently serviced and in excellent condition. It features the original oscillator board and sounds wonderful.

It's in excellent condition overall - there's some cracking to the plastic front panel around oscillator 1, but this doesn't cause any issues in use. The owner refinished the case in a classy dark wood stain some years ago - it presents very well.

There are some minor marks/dings to the woodwork and case, see detailed photos for more information (photos to follow). This Mini was serviced by one of our approved techs last year and is playing very well.

Set for UK 240v use, but can be switched back to 120v if required."

Roland MRS-2 Promars - Stunning condition, pro-serviced SN 041815

Note: Auction links are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.

via this auction

"Stunning near mint Promars for sale serviced and in the original Roland case. This is a superb example of this classic late 70s Roland analogue synth.

In very near mint and exceptionally-clean condition with only very minor marks and signs of use; you'll struggle to find a better example.

Often thought of as simply the monophonic sibling of the Jupiter 4, the Promars in fact features two de-tuneable oscillators for its one voice, making it capable of creating some very interesting noises indeed.

It is a 100v Japanese model and will run fine on North American mains 115/120v without a transformer (we run all our tests using 120v power); however, a step-down transformer is recommended for extended use.
A step-down transformer is required in the UK/EU.
We do not recommend using cheap generic Chinese mains transformers and can supply a high quality UK-made unit if required."

Note: Auction links are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.

via this auction

"It has had an extensive service with new bushings, key contacts and sliders/switches cleaned and the power supply re-capped. The synth has been re-calibrated and is sounding superb.

Now reissued by Korg, this is a chance to buy an iconic original in excellent order. Effectively a hard-wired compact version of the monster ARP 2800, the Odyssey is revered for its signature sweeps, leads and bass sounds - like an albino time machine, it transports you back to the golden age of analogue synthesis.

Condition is excellent with a few scratches and scuffs to the case, most of which are on the back of the unit. There is some paint damage from the bolts on the underside of the face but nothing too noticeable, there is a photo displaying these minor flaws. The black plastic side panels have been cut down at the back to make them flush with the back of the unit (possibly to make it fit somewhere in the past). This work has not been done professionally and is rough around the edges as shown in the photos. Click on the photos to zoom in and see more detail.

It is a 110v model.
A step-down transformer is required in the UK/EU.
We do not recommend using cheap generic Chinese mains transformers and can supply a high quality UK-made unit if required."
